I saw the reveal yesterday and have read countless articles about the S5. There was no mention of them in the announcement and nobody has any info about it. Anyone?
Yes. It's deep in the settings

it has every "s feature" the s4 has and more.
Anyone know those new s features or gestures?

Id' heard it's been dumbed down a bit, which i was interested in, for me the SGS4 was a bit gimmicky, seemed to be too much going on at the same time.
After a while you simply don't use some of the gestures, you rely on what you know, probably why the HTC One was so popular, it's system was literally stripped of anything it didn't need, worked really well and it's been the best to date, i think Sammy could take a thing or two from that.

Yep, they should definitely remove things like the smart scroll or the smart pause. Those are not even gimmicky, they are simply useless.

Agreed, they're simply to show off to people who've been using the likes of an iphone.
In real life they're pretty crap indeed.
They are still there but turned off by default.

Based on your signature, I'm wondering how are you liking the S5 so far? How's the battery life compared to the S4?

:thumbdown:It's not as good as the advertisement. it drains fast.( just basic apps running in the background nothing that should drain the battery.)
I love the camera , camera editing, and the sleek look of the phone. It's better once you hold it. looks really nice.
 It's snappy and badass.

That's not good to hear about the battery life but I assume your device is running a pre-release software build so hopefully Samsung will fix any bugs that may be draining the battery in the final release software.

hope it will clear up but yes still buggy for now.

Oncircle seems cool, it looks like you can send drawings and emoticons similar like in Apple watches to favorite contacts. Can't quite find out how to add people though
You need other people to register as well. If they are not it is useless.

I have 1 person on Oncircle, I have no idea what it is, or how to get rid of it
You can't get rid of it. It's part of the people's edge. It's like ChatON.

You can turn it off.
Also I believe the other person had to have an edge device.

This is the best initial hands on review I have seen so far and it looks like it has a type of 3d. Touch ,look gorgeous in this video

Interesting, looks to me as if they've just changed the behavior of the long press, long press for the menu and then drag the menu to move the icon maybe?
There's no evidence of a pressure sensitive screen but this is a good way to implement without additional hardware.
Certainly didn't see it mentioned in the keynote or an immediate reviews that followed,or the exposure control on the camera either, wonder if they will be both pixel exclusives

I have seen exposure control and af/ae lock mentioned somewhere, I think it was a hands on video. Unfortunately for us the layman just wants a point and shoot that makes excellent auto shots so I wouldn't be surprised if Google omitted them.

Well pardon me,its better and provides more info than most of the 1 minute hands on videos we have seen so far

He is just *****ing about semantics.
Is it a proper review? No.
Is it a hand's on / preview? Yes.
Is it useful and shows more than any other hand's on I've seen? Yes.
There, that should make all of the grammar police/nit pickers happy.

Just to add all reviews I have watched do far were on my phone or tablet,i watched this one on my TV ,and it does show off how good the device looks.A bit like the 6p it's going to be one of those you have to get in hand to appreciate it

Some incorrect info:
Said it supports QC 3.0 - false, it's USB-PD.
Said fingerprint has no other features - false, it supports notification pulldown.
Good points. I'm curious to see how useful the notification pull down on the fp is.

Yes I posted that in the YouTube link,FP does have some gestures

About as useful as it sounds. On my 6P, it'd be great... that is a yoga move to get to the notification bar, so I used Nova and just do a pulldown anywhere on the screen. I may not use Nova with the Pixel XL though since it seems like some features may be baked into the stock launcher, so it could be useful... then again the screen is also smaller. Very user dependent based on hand/finger size lol.
Actually there were a lot of inaccurate information in that video. He is just going off the small amount of information he knows. Nice high quality video of the phone though!
3D Touch on Iphone is pressure sensitive whereas on Pixel you get different options depending how long you touch screen. I presume long press gives option to add widgets from individual apps where supported.

I have the daydream. I use it like a cardboard as I haven't gotten daydream to work on the phone yet. (supposedly its possible.... I haven't read up on it though)
Its super comfy, and even as a cardboard device, It works pretty damn good.
Reading up I see the new Moto phones are supported but not the nexus 6p or 5x..... disappointed would have liked one for Xmas

Ok so everytime I share something and that list populates with different things to share, does it take anyone else like 5 taps before it actually selects it? it takes forever! it'll never select it on the first tap. don't understand why it does this but I share constantly that it's so damn annoying.
Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk
Same problem here
isn't it the most annoying thing? my s7, despite being a laggy device, was super fast with sharing. this one is super slow and very irritating.
Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk
True.
Sent from my LG-H990 using Tapatalk
anyone know why it does this?
Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk
May have something to do with the phone looking for devices to share to, say, on the network? Does it hang when wifi, nfc, file sharing is off?
My biggest gripe is when I select to share something, I get suggestions for apps and contacts using apps that I don't want at the top nor do I ever use them...
still hangs when wifi and stuff is off. I never have nfc on. idk why it does it, maybe the list is populating but it should be already populated like in the phone cache. idk, even my slow ass s7 didn't do that so it's very annoying
Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk
Mine doesn't lag but it is very annoying because the icons are never in the same spot so when I'm doing a lot of sharing they will always be rearranged and gets annoying sometimes.
