Possible Oneplus2 power button issue - Please assist - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone just a quick question. I am a new oneplus2 owner and wanted to know if everything was okay with my phone as the power button seems to be very soft when pressed ( as a pose to a click with the volume button ) I have never had a oneplus phone before and wanted if this was normal? I am used to other model phones where there is always a assertive click or feeling of a button being pressed. With this power button its almost too soft - like you can barely feel you pressed it at times! please let me know if this is normal? or is this a fault. Thanks

Mine is Just like the volume soft but clicky like a mechanical response

Hard to Press the Power Button !!

Hi All, I have owned a lot of HTC phones and now I have the HD, its the first time I see HTC phone with such small, thin, and hard to press power button !!
especially in the dark, I cant press it and wake up my phone easily !!
I MANAGED TO TWEAK MY HD and now I wake up my device pressing the volume button, but again I have new problem : sometimes when I carry my phone the volume get pressed by mistake and the ringer get muted or low and I miss some calls !!!
Any solution for this problem so I can wake up my phone from the standby without pressing the microscopic power button !!
Take out the stylus and insert it back again. That wakes up the device. Otherwise you might want to search for a G-sensor enabled "wake-up" application. "Shake_it_to_wake" so to speak...

How can you use it to wake up the device? I don't see that option in the description, except the default stylus in and out...
...
I guess S2U won´t help you with waking up your device but if you use volume buttons it will protect you from accidental muting your phone.
I found power hard to press, too, but then I looked closely: This power 'button' is indeed non-symmetrical - at least on *my* device: it stands up a bit on one side, the left side, which is closer to the middle of the HD. So I press it *there*, because obviously enough that's the place where the sensor is located. It works easy every time.

Can you tell me how?
Ducasito. Good observation. I wondered why sometime it was easy and sometimes hard. So the slight non-symmetrical button is not a manufacturing fault but a very subtle design feature. Now I know which side to hit. Thanks
Seems all HD's are different OR I have a very heavy finger.
All I need to do to get it to wake it lightly touch the power button and it comes on.

I suppose it is just a matter of "where" you push the button. Just push it on the left edge (where the small led is placed) and you will not need that much pressure to switch the device on or off. The button sensor is actually under that left edge. the picture shows the powerbutton part (picture taken from the HTC Touch HD service manual). Under the left edge of it is the sensor, so putting the pressure there is the best way of pressing the button

my question is: how did you manage it? with a special registry key?
....since a few months I`m searching for a solution....please help me
(my fingers are too big for the Power button)
many thanks, Michael

You can use AE button plus. I use this to convert my volum buttons to up and down buttons on single click, select/ok on double click, and volume on hold and press.
Thanks for your answer but I´ve a further question:
Do you "wake up" (from standby) the blackstone by using this AE button? I tried to use this software but I couldn`t wake up the Touch HD from standby by using the volume buttons.

Hard to press volume buttons?

Coming from a Galaxy Nexus, my volume buttons seem incredibly unresponsive and hard to press, especially the volume down button. Anyone else notice this? I'm wondering if it's a consistent hardware issue or if it's worthwhile to try and do an exchange.
Do you mean that the button would not depress, or that you can press the button but the phone does not register the press? If the latter then you must have a defective unit since I can get presses to register every time. I came from a Galaxy Nexus too and while the volume buttons on the N4 have more resistance I don't think they are that hard to press.

The button depresses, but barely, and I have to press pretty hard. It doesn't have the same "click" feedback as most phones -- it just feels like I'm mashing it. I'm guessing it's just my phone since I haven't read anything else about it. Hooray for quality control
Edit: on the plus side, in case anyone else is in the same situation, I just called Google and the replacement process seems pretty painless.
Sorry for bumping a relatively old thread. I'm in the same situation with one of my two N4s. In comparison, the volume buttons on one of the phones are really hard to press. I've called Google three days in a row and they said they would email me the instructions for replacement, but I still haven't received anything from them. I was wondering how long did the exchange process take for you?

Soft power button?

Anyone else have a Galaxy S4 with a power button that feels really soft when pressed? My volume and home buttons both have a satisfying click while my power button just feels weak and pressing anywhere other than the center of the button feels like I'm not pressing anything at all. I tried my friend's phone out and it isn't like that for him.
If you have a case on it an awkward position of the press might make you think like that. That was my case anyway

The first thing I did was take it out of my case to test it out. Why wouldn't I?

Volume buttons - long press

Hi guys,
Just received my new Nexus 7 and noticed that the volume down button doesn't lower the volume when I long press the button. Does anybody else have that issue or is a hardware defect on my end? It works when I press and hold the volume up button but not on the way down. Single clicking it works though.
thanks for any input.

thanks for the feedback. I am trying another ROM first before I rule out any software mods that may cause this. I am using the APM.
