Sony SW3 Wear apps not installing - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I recently repaired my phone (OPO) with my SW3 after performing a fresh install of a ROM and now the SW3 doesn't seem to be installing the Wear component of compatible apps, for example I've installed the Strava and Progression Fitness tracking apps, both of which were previously installed and worked fine but the Wear app won't load. I installed Google Maps and Gmail and they both work on the SW3, and notifications in general seem to be working, just not 3rd party apps. Any one seen anything similar?
Cheers!

[Q] Apps missing from watch

I've just set up a fresh phone, downloaded all my apps to it and set up my G Watch R and some apps are missing from the watch. Facer, Pujie Black, Talon and a few others. When I go into Wear App Manager it says they're just not installed on my watch and resyncing apps through the Wear phone app doesn't seem to be doing anything.
I had this issue on my previous phone too, most apps would install fine but a few would just not make it to the watch. Is this a common issue? Anything I can do to fix it?
(I should add I've trued uninstalling the apps from my phone and redownloading them from Google Play but it hasn't made a difference)
I think that the app just haven't been transferred to the watch yet. Just give it more time, Bluetooth LE can be really slow
Try to restart your watch after you sync it.
It's definitely not just me being impatient, it's been 5-6 hours since I set the watch up and these few apps still aren't syncing. I used my phone on my previous rom for a couple of weeks and still had a couple of apps that hadn't synced up. I feel like there must be something stopping them because just waiting isn't helping. I've tried resyncing and restarting with no luck.
if you have change your ROM do you have google API on it?
Do you know what versions of Google Play Services you use in watch and in phone?
I've had the issue in the past with a OnePlus One on stock ROM, OPO on an unofficial CM12 build, my current Galaxy Note 4 on an unofficial CM12 build and also my Note 4 which is currently having this issue on the stock ROM. Phone has Google Play Services 6.5.99 which is presumably the most up to date and my phone is on AW 5.0.1.
If you have adb, can you check log messages (from WearablePkgInstaller) when synchronizing apps?
command is:
adb logcat WearablePkgInstaller:I *:S
at sync, You should see all the package install intents.

[Q] Alternative to Android Wear, using a wear device without Play Services

Hi, I recently got a Moto 360 as a present. But sadly, I soon came to the realization that you can't run Android Wear without GAPPS installed (I'm running CM10.2). I'm not going to install Google's spyware just so I can use a watch.
Are there other Apps that work with AndroIid Wear Devices? My smartphone does support Bluethooth 4 and BLE. A little bit digging showed me that some dedicated people got some functionality to work on their Iphone without Google Services. Alos when I install the Pebble App it recognzes my phone (but can not connect)
I really just want to get notifications to my watch, control music , set an alarm and maybe get my pulse data on my phone. Are there third party apps that can do that?
The person who ported the Android Wear functionality to Iphone has a Github repository of his Iphone app under shiitakeo/android_wear_for_ios . If there is no option I will have to write my own app and I'm going to orient myself on what he did there.
So you are looking for an app to connect your android phone to the iOS wear connect app on moto360? And not android wear app?
I'm looking for a third party android app that lets me connect my Moto 360 with my Phone aCyanogenmod 10.2 without gapps installed.
Without gapps I can't install the offical Android Wear app. Taking a peak in the IOS world shows me that it' s possible to do that with a device that supports Bluethooth 4.0 and BLE. The Pebbles app also recognizes my watch but does not let me connect it, this tells me that they must use a similiar protocol or maybe even the same. My question is, if someebody already did write such an App, that lets you connect your Android phone with your smart watch (without installing gapps!), or if I have to do this on my own. (I'm a software developer but never did anything with Bluethooth or much in Android.)
I'd also like to find a non-gapps solution for this. Have you found one?

Install software wear with IOS - Any update?

Hello Guys,
Any update on the possibility to install apps on the android wear paired with an iphone?
I I thought that after finding the way to make google maps work with ios it would have been easier to find other apps (ie: Runtastic, Nav .....)
Any news?
Thanks
Nope,
still only sideloaded apps or standalone apps installed through adb is able i think

Updating Google Play Services After LineageOS installation

Hello Community,
I have a weird one here - hoping someone can help -
Couple months back I bought myself an OnePlus6T phone and came here for help to successfully install LineageOS onto it. I would say it was the most fun but challenging install that I have performed but with your help, I was able to do so - Thanks.
Phone has been running great under LineageOS with excellent battery life. Been using F-Droid / Aurora Store when needed (mostly for work related Apps). Lately I got into a game that is similar to Pokemon GO and ran into an issue. The game was installed from apkpure since it was not found with Aurora Store.
The game works just fine. Boots up and able to play the game, walking around interacting with the environment. Except for some of the items in game are not clickable. Reached out to their support and with some troubleshooting, couldnt figure out the issue. Nobody has claimed this same issue. Same version that is the most recent. Since I still had my old phone, I installed the game on there (via Google Play Store) and it worked 100%. This phone is officially on Tmobile OS, believe Android 10.
So it had me thinking of what was different between the two devices. Obs the OS's are different, but the main factor that I couold think of was that when I installed LIneageOS on the OnePlus6t, i didnt install Google Play Services along with. Grabbed an apk of it, updated it and the game is still acting the same - cant interact with some of the objects in game. Through phone activity, I do get the notification pop stating "Google Play Services has crash" with two options, close app and app info.
Overview :
Objective / Issue - Geolocation game works but not 100% since some of the objects in game are not working, most are
Tmobile Phone - Running Official Android 10 - game installed from Play Store - works 100%
OnePlus6T Phone - Running LineageOS 18.1 - game installed manually, boot and runs but not all objects are intractable
Questions - Can i install Google Play Services separately through TWRP?
Which version would I install? Is there a slim down version of Google Play Services to only install the service and nothing else?
Is there a way to fully, and I mean Fully backup my data for a factory reset so i can install Google Play Services?
Would installing Lineage MircoG be a possible solution?
I know its a strange issue / request but hopefully a simple solution. Not sure if I can just install Google Play Services through TWRP and that would work but that would be the simplest and I wouldnt lose any data
Any help would be greatly appreciation,
Thanks,

Are not-standalone (companion) Wear OS apps still allowed for submission on the Play Store, or are they always rejected?

Hello.
Our Wear OS application, which is not a standalone application (it is a companion app of our smartphone app, it cannot be used without the smartphone app) keeps getting rejected by Google Play Policy team for the following reason : "Your application requires phone interaction for the watch version to function." even if we have clearly explained in our Play Store description that it is not a standalone application and cannot work when the smartphone app is not available.
Our application was previously accepted and published on the Play Store but we suspect a Google policy change even if we haven't found it clearly anywhere (we have only found recommendations which encourage standalone apps).
=> Are not-standalone Wear OS apps still allowed for Play Store submission or must our Wear OS app include at least a standalone feature ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards
I am not sure, but I know there are some apps that are embedded in the phone app to deploy to a WearOS watch (like the Hyundai Blue Link App and the Genesis Intelligent Connect App). If your phone is paired with a WearOS watch, it loads the app onto the phone. Maybe you can try something like that.
Funny thing is the apps right now do not load the app to the Watch4. I think it is because the Watch4 is on WearOS4. I had a different watch at one time that was plain Jane WearOS and the app loaded just fine. I am looking for Hyundai/Genesis to correct this issue. I hope.
I also got a wear os companion app update reject on 6.Jul. My last update was successful on 30.May.2022. Did not see any policy regarding to the companion app issue. It is just weird and I have also appealed to get more info. Did you appeal the reject?
