In the status bar? There isn't one, unless you're on a custom rom. you can see it in quick settings by pulling down the status bar (aka notification tray) with two fingers at the same time. For the sound/silent/vibrate, hold the power button until a menu pops up. The 3 options on the bottom under airplane mode are the sound/vibrate/silent with no vibrate toggles.
Use 'Power Toggle' app
I know with my N5 I had constant problems with the "butt dial flashlight" and on of the reasons I got a N6 is that I wanted to eliminate that problem and indeed it was successful. Now with the 6P this morning I noticed my pocket was getting hot and I took the phone out and the flashlight was on.. How do I disable the flashlight as I never use it anyway and if you ever saw a battery sucker it is the flashlight?
Assuming you're talking about the quick launch icon in the notification shade, turn on System UI Tuner (hold down the settings gear in the shade for a few seconds and it will start to spin under your finger (hard to see). Then go into settings and at the very bottom it will say System UI tuner. You can then customize what icons are shown in the shade.
Ok what is "notification shade" .. does phone need to be rooted as I held down the settings gear for at least 9 seconds on the screen that shows things such as bluetooth, airplane mode, auto rotate, Location.. etc and I never got the setting wheel on the upper right near the percentage of battery and nothing happened, but my 6P is not rooted?
Your phone does not need to be rooted, but you do need to keep your finger very still as you're pressing on the gear icon. It took me a couple of tries.
if you have OK GOOGLE enabled...
"OK Google, turn off flashlight".
I'm serious.
You don't need to be rooted. Maybe have developer settings turned on in the first place?
"To enable System UI Tuner in Android 6.0 Marshmallow preview 3, pull down your notification shade and long-press on the Settings gear icon for up to 5 seconds. Once you let go, you should see a pop-up with the message “Congrats! System UI Tuner has been added to Settings.†And as that message suggests, you can head into settings, scroll to the bottom, and find an option for System UI Tuner."
Once enabled you will see a small wrench next to the gear icon in the notification shade.
Notification shade is the pulldown menu where you notifications appear, and where the quicklaunch icons are.
As @Zlatty said, you might need to turn on Developer Options first (but the Droid Life guide doesn't mention it). To enable this, go to Settings > About and tap on Build Number 7-8 times until it says "You're a developer!".
Will this stop it from going on or does it just shut it off once it it on?
OK I was able to access that screen and flashlight icon was pale with a diagonal line through it but all that tells me is that it is off as I did nothing to disable PERMANENTLY the flashlight that I know of ??
Yes that worked but you have to know it is on.. I want it never to go on.
@painfree Click and hold on the flashlight quick launch icon in the System UI tuner Quick Settings and drag it down to the trash to delete the icon from your Quick Settings/Quick Launch.
fury683, thank you that worked it is removed.

cant swipe it away when its activated.
This
Oh, you probably can only remove that notification with root.
You can hide it by blocking notifications from SystemUI but I doubt it's worth to do so.

Any updates on hiding the annoying "DND notification" while DND is turned on? I'm now on Samsung Galaxy Note10+
Disabling DND notification work around.
Hey I have found a work around. Using System UI Tuner you can set custom snooze time to the maximum something like 99999. Hope this helps.
Hi,
I want to use automatic hide status bar. Im using automatic hide navigation bar like this. How i can do automatic hide status bar and use my rooted s8 full screen
Systemui tuner in play store will do it. Immersive mode. I got it in full. You can also do it as on unrooted devices. I have Xposed with gravity box which suppose to do it but doesn't. This app I found does it on the s8 and nicely. Add seconds to the clock and turn off icons. Check it out. It is by zacharee1, the app.
Here is my home screen. The status bar comes and goes with the nav bar. I hated seeing the status bar.
It is looking very nice. I cant install magisk or xposed. I tried everything and open a post in xda. But i cant use it still. I will change my rom and try to flash magisk or xposed again

I tried to find answer but its either impossible or either I cant search properly so here is my problem.
After I enable battery saving in G6(Oreo. not rooted) I get battery icon present in top left corner of the bar and also on lock screen there is message informing me battery saving is on. So is there a way to have battery saving on but without all those things that remind me about it all the time ? Only way I have found so far is to swipe message on lock screen to the right and I have two options, one of them has clock icon and after pressing on it it gives me option to put this notification to "sleep" for max two hours and after clicking it all battery saving notifications are gone but they come back after this 2 hours apparently. I dont even know if this option puts notifications to sleep or battery saving is disabled for those 2 hours. So is there a way to have battery saving on but without any reminders/notifications ?
Thanks for any help
The only solution I found is to make the notification as non-intrusive as possible. If you tap and hold on the notification, you can go to "All Categories" and set the "Status" category to low priority. You can even prevent the notification from showing on the lockscreen. If you did everything right, there shouldn't be an icon on the status bar.
Keep in mind that this also affects all other SystemUi notifications that fall under the "Status" category, and there's no way around this.
On the current version of Android (10) if you swipe your screen from the top down you will see the Battery Saver is On notification. If you press and hold this notifcation you will see: Silent notifications / System UI / Status: These notifications can’t be modified.
