Grand Prime SM-530AZ Problem - Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, for the past few months on each boot I get prompted with
Android SystemThere's an internal problem with your device, and itmay be unstable until you factory data reset
Maps then proceeds to crash

Well Windows 10 64bit has been creating problems for many many people in the forum and I have seen people running vm and win 7 for the best results. And something very important I must say is that most of the new computers do have USB 2.0 ports but they are limited in numbers, so you should find one on ur PC, to us it specifically for phone tweaking softwares. I would suggest you find another PC or laptop around,

In that case, any one (or combination) of the apps you've installed could be causing the problems. There are some known issues on here - have you searched for your problems in the forums - not just this one?
You may well need to do a hard reset and install the apps gradually, making sure that your problems have not re-occured. This way, you may be able to identify what is causing your problems.

I'm still on XP, so I use ActiveSync and that works (usually) with no problem. I know there have been others on here that use Vista or Windows 7, and they've got it working. Maybe one of those guys will offer some assistance.
Good luck mate

Hey! Yesterday I had the same issue. I am a new user too. When you connect your Leo to Pc, tap the autosync option on your mobile screen, not the usb/flash drive. Pc will recognize your phone then. Also, see if you have microsoft outlook instaled on your pc, that matters too.

i do that , doesnt work

bricked another, but found a XP sp3 solution

yesterday, I bricked my AT&T X10a again trying to update to the generic Br/GEL. I had it replaced, they are starting to know me at the service center.
However, I found one solution in the process.
There have been postings regarding XP SP3 freezing when the X10 is connected in SEMC flash mode. The Plug'n'Play message comes up and explorer goes to all to hell, the mouse may still work, but the computer won't respond, etc. (XP is not a problem in SP2 according to my browsing.)
After extensively searching on the web different forums, et al, I found a message that said it won't happen in SAFE MODE. Since every computer here is xp sp3 and they all freeze, I thought this was worth a try. And yes, you can get through the driver install/recognition of the SEMC Flash without hanging. Programs can find the device.
Now, if I only knew why they only partially update.....
I may just wait for my kid to come home from college and use her laptop, it's Win7. But she also has a X10a and wants an upgrade, is the win7 device ID different for each phone or do identical models have the same ID?
I don't think it's even possible to brick an X10i/a at the moment since the bootloader isn't cracked...
when it's not a phone, it's a brick (or at least a tile)

Anytime it doesn't work as a phone anymore to me, it's bricked.
The last time (about a month ago), It went so far as to get the flashing symbol and afterwards wouldn't go into anything but flash mode, and wouldn't reflash. This time, it seems, just some of the firmware was overwritten, and it wouldn't recognize the sim card and just had the opening screen without the unlock and kept rebooting and retrying to 'activate' the card. So, it's useless to me, and I just had them swap me another phone. To me, it's bricked cause that's all it's good for.
I'm chalking it up to something peculiar in my XP SP3 setup at the moment. Though in safe mode, only a handful of services, et al are running and the AV/AS isn't even active, as well as most of the software on the PC. I don't know that I want to go so far as to remove SP3 just to update the phone everytime software comes out.
And the same system lockup occurs with the SE software when it's in flash mode which is why I could not do the 'repair' trick early on. I understand that SE is telling people to upgrade to Win7 or Vista or borrow a machine.

Installing Android to run like a top

whats up guys, so ive read a few sites that explain how to install android onto the hd2. i flashed one with no problems and it works flawlessly then i tried doing my cousins phone and his is messing up, contacts wont save and its locking up every once in a while.
So here is my question alot of the threads i was reading had conflicting information. So they are both flashed with hardspl already what is the lightest and most stable winmo to lay android over top of. Also what do you guys suggest for the best android rom to run over winmo and would a bootloader make the phone more stable. So i know what to do but i want to know from you experienced vets as to what is the most stable winmo that will run android great and what android rom to run for minimal problems. Ive read hundreds of pages on roms and such but everything is always outdated by time i get to it..
So what is working great for you guys. Sense is preferred on android and winmo will pretty much never be ran so no sense would be lighter im sure. Thanks for all the help in advance.
Also one more thing, as both phones are currently running android when they both try to connect to the same wifi router niether one will recieve data until one of the hd2 disconnects from the router. Also confused with that as my evo never loses internet when connected to the same router. For your info the router is a 2wire att dsl gateway. im thinking it could be a problem with the router but that shouldnt be a problem, so maybe the android rom i am using is not using its real mac to identify itself with the router and is causing problems. The wifi is encrypted with wep encryption.
a) You did NOT flash Android, you simply booted into android via your SD card.
b) Android does NOT run on top of windows, When you run haret it kicks windows mobile from ram and boots into Android kernel. Windows is not running at all.
c) Do not ask "what is best" questions they are silly and annoy everybody.
Stop been lazy and read, do some research and learn something, If you dont you end up with problems like your cousins phone.

A is correct, at least until NAND is done and stable.
Just to expand on B, the only thing I get out of different WinMo ROM's is speed of boot. Disable Sense if your WinMo ROM has it so when it boots to WinMo and kicks off haret, it kicks up faster.
C, yeah, I have to agree, you ask 1000 people about 100 ROMs and and somehow, you will end up with 1000 different answers.
Another thing to try is to backup your SD Card and format the SD Card (yeah, I know Dev's say it's not needed anymore, but why not?). Make sure it's a Class 6 or higher (DEFINITELY NOT a Class 2 and some reports show Class 4 work, but I try and stick with Class 6).

When running Android, the reported MAC address of your wifi card is not the actual MAC address, but one that can be changed.
Because of this, lots of builds have the same MAC address, and therefore you'll have this problem when connecting to the same wireless router. (If you're both running the same build then you'll definitely have this problem.)
Do a search - you can set the MAC address in the startup.txt file, but I can't remember what the actual text should read. It's been discussed in the forums before now, so it's there somewhere.
Or instead of being a jerk you can offer help and support or skip the thread entirely lol. Saves us all time.
Anyway, there are alot of ROMS out that cater to specific tastes. Me, I love Sense so that's my preference. Right now though I'm running a stock ROM from tytung that is running smooth as butter. No lags and data drops are almost non existent. But I know ill be running a new Rom within a few hours.
I'd suggest testing the builds on a week trial run or shorter. Try one out for a few days to get a feel for it and see if it has issues you don't want to deal with.
As far as WinMo, that doesn't really matter. I have a GTX full ROM running, I just don't use it except when restarting lol.

How well does Android work?

Hey,
My iPhone has died so I am looking to buy cheap phone whilst I wait for decent phones WP7 to come out this year. I was wondering how well does
Android work on HD2? Any lag? Do major features like GPS, Bluetooth, Wifi, etc work properly? Finally, any of you guys use Android as your day to day OS?
I couldn't find these answers so I apologise if these have been asked recently.
Thanks.
I'm running a NAND build and everything works great. The battery life is tremendous and I use my phone for everything.

The phone was made for Android...why Windows Mobile ended up on ths beast is a mystery to me. Everything works and works well. It runs circles around my brother-in-law's Droid...buttery smooth. The CM builds are my favorites, but if you like Sense, the DHD builds are great too. I was goingto upgrade last fall...but with Android running that's on indefinite hold.
And if you want to use WP7...it has reached daily driver status for a lot of folks too. But comming from iPhone, you might be disappointed in the app store at this point...still early.

HD 2's are still holding value. One on contract in uk will be the same price as a desire. If you really can get obw cheap snap their hand off

As for problems, just a few minor ones that some people have helped me fix on this forum.
When I downloaded the NAND rom, everything went smoothly. You might possibly get the Unit code problem. Just do the solutions that people are recommending on this forum. Worked for me.
Make sure you download HSPL 2.08, MAGLDR 1.12, and then the NAND rom. Check radio version before doing this as well.
couple things Ive noticed with this rom compared to 6.5
*The G-Calibration doesnt work as well on NAND as it did on 6.5. Screen sometimes doesnt rotate when you want it too
*Swype needs some modifications to it once downloaded to your NAND rom for the rom to recognize it (at least in my case)
*The Internet issue that everyone is having problems with but is a VERY EASY FIX...(manually enter APN settings) described in another thread
*Finally the phone isn't recognized by computer once plugged in. Anyone have a solution for this that works, please let me know
*Once I got my 3G to work properly with the APN settings, GPS worked perfectly fine and havent had a issue with it that others have had
With all that comes Android though. Android software itself is amazing compared to Windows and these are minor issues that dont bother me. This Rom is very fast and superior to any other Rom in my opinion. Marketplace is great, the animation is second to none, the app and widget placement is superb. I'd definitely recommend picking this phone up and downloading the NAND Rom as you won't be dissapointed.

If you Mean your computer can't mount the phone as a drive, I've only seen this issue in Gingerbread Builds. The fix "more of a work around really" is to download and use the "Multi Mount SD-Card" widget.

Just a quick correction - some people have data connection issues, not everyone!

With the new ROM, my phone isnt recognizable once plugged in anymore. Ive read about a couple fixes but haven't gotten it to work. This issue is kinda blurry to me since it is a different ROM and your computer software expects to be hooked up to a Windows ROM rather than android. It charges through usb connection to computer, just cant sync contacts, etc. through computer. So yes, it isnt recognizable as a drive at all other than charging if that makes sense. Its the newest NAND rom that DFT provided.

You could try installing the Android SDK. It's a big install, but it will include the necessary drivers for connecting an Android device.
You can get it here...

Will those official drivers work with DFT's version of NAND android ROM though? Will it recognize it??
Strange, I primarily run gbread and I have never had this issue. Running both mdj cyanogenmod as well as hyperdroid

I have no reason to see why not - it's just Android, like every other build. I'm not sure why you're having a problem in the first place.
Are you just trying to connect as a USB device? If so, have you set the phone to act as a USB device?

freeridindirtbiker,
If I understand you correctly you are having problems syncing contacts with your phone now that you have flashed the DFT provided Stock Desire NAND ROM?
My question is what program are you using to try to sync with your phone? When you had windows mobile on your phone you could sync using the windows mobile device center. Now that you are running android (especially in NAND) your phone is no longer a windows mobile phone and cannot be synced through windows mobile device center. You can download HTC Sync which is the software HTC provides to sync an HTC Desire with contacts etc...
Your phone now identifies itself as an HTC Desire. You can natively use it as a usb mass storage device (flash drive), but to "sync" with it you need to install new software on your PC.

S7 Edge (Verizon) - Difficulty transferring files on Mac

Hey all,
Didn't really know where to put a question like this, but since I got my S7 Edge as of two or so weeks ago, I've had an annoying time trying to transfer files over through Android File Manager, Smart Switch, and even a VM running Windows 7 on my Mac. My current OS on my Mac is Yosemite 10.10.5, my S7 Edge has the latest update installed, and yet I still have major difficulty transferring even more than one or two files at once before AFM locks up and claims my device is not connected/is locked, Smart Switch locking up completely until I disconnect and reconnect my S7 Edge, and the VM can't even recognize the phone being connected to it.
I have tried AFM with and without Smart Switch installed at the same time, and as for the VM, I've installed all the latest drivers.
I'm at a complete loss as to where to go next, as while this is so far the only problem I've had with this otherwise great phone, it's absurdly annoying when it comes time to transfer new music and shows.
One thing I have experienced in the past is that my previous Samsung devices never played nice with SanDisk memory cards, and the current MicroSD is a SanDisk 128 GB, but the transfer problem is also a big issue even when copying to the phone's onboard storage.
Thanks for any help or resources in advance!
