Hey guys,
Have been using the yoga tab 2 1050F for quite some time and so far so good.
I'm using it mainly in bed. Got the notification volume set to zero, and indeed - all notifications are mute.
... except for the low battery crazy loud buzzer.
This can turn on in the middle of the night and there is no way to turn it off!!
Anyone has any idea? I searched all around the menus, couldn't find anything

Please help save a life, I'm going to jump off the nearest bridge if my wifes phone wakes me out of a dead sleep vibrating on full charge again. everynight the same thing. Is there anyway to stop it on a stock eclair phone? I could root it but she won't let me change the rom. anyway to do it on the stock system?
How about plugging it in a different room than the one you are sleeping in.
Dude, you must be a light sleeper if the vibration wakes you. I used to get woken up by the sound clip it played, so I renamed the file and no more sound!
But to stop it from vibrating? I don't think there's a way to do that other than tell your wife not to put the phone on vibrate! (what's with women and vibrate? lol)
There's an app in the Market called Silent Toggle Widget. It allows a full silent mode... but now that I think of it, I think Eclair offers full silence already. And I don't know whether it would work anyway.
I'm in the same boat as you. That vibrate would wake me up every damn night. I finally just got in the habit of charging to 100% when I get home, then plugging it in in the bedroom before I brush my teeth. Now the vibrate happens before I get into bed. I know it's not a good solution, but it's the best I've found.
I just now noticed in my Sound settings that there's a "Vibrate" selection that has the option "Never". Does Eclair have that? Maybe that would do it?
Good luck! I feel your pain.

trust me the vibrate is loud, I could have her put it on sound, not an issue, but where is the sound file and how do I get rid of it? assume I would need to root to do that?

is it because it's sitting on a nightstand or dresser? maybe set a sock or something under it.

that may be an option if I can get her to remember that. but then it would never make any vibration if she forgets to change it. thats the only bad thing.
I was woke up at 3am this morning by the damn charging complete noise.
I do not see a way to turn down system notifications all the way in froyo?
turning down system volume in volume basically turns everything down. anyway to resolve this? This is a huge issue as i cannot turn off my phone at night due to on-call needs and really don't want to be woke up by a stupid beep. Thanks.
Stock, not rooted.

You can adjust the system volume there.
I'd like to know how to turn off the charge complete message as well
System volume is for boot noises and I believe the charge complete noise.
It won't turn down incoming call or notification volumes.

hmm, i went back and tried that again and i think it may be working.
i thought the first time i did that my meeting reminders were no longer making noises but maybe i was just to tired at 3am and not thinking straight. thanks.
We will have to wait for another Mod for the charge complete notificiation.
Give it a day or two.
y not just use audio manager, its an app that lets u turn down the noises on the system, alarm, and notifications.. it comes with a widget too. there is a free and full version, no difference to me
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=897829&highlight=TW_Battery_caution
It would be nice to get rid of the notification, beyond just the sound. I have my dock set up as an alarm clock, with screen saver, but the notification coming on overrides the screen saver function...

On 2.1 I set my system notification volume to 0 after the first time it happened. When updating to 2.2 it sets it back to max, at least for me it did.
Gotta love the world of re-tweaking
Sent from my Epic 4g Runnin Froyo...rooted for my pleasure!!
What I would like to know is how to make the phone use the text to speech to let me know who is calling. On 2.1 there was an option for this but after updating I can't find it anymore and my calls just ue the normal ringtone again. It would, in the past say "Call from John Doe or call from 555-222-3333" depending on if the caller was saved in my contacts or not. (& no I don't want to install an app to take care if this if possible because this was built in, sort of, when text to speech was installed and set up in the setting menu on 2.1)

I am told when charging of the phone is complete it vibrates for a few seconds. Anyone know how to turn this off as no-doubt it will waken me?
Thanks.
Not only that, but it makes a stupidly loud pinging noise, too. It woke me up at 3am this morning. I can't find anything in the settings to turn it off.
Anyone?
I don't know why Samsung and LG thinks this is useful.
i dont wake up for anything!! i havent noticed this once yet. does it only ping/vibrate when you are charging when the phone is on? or when it off also?
Only when it's on. I think that the pinging noise is controlled by the System volume slider in the settings menu, I had it up to full which is probably what caused it to wake me. I've put it down to about 2 now but am yet to test to see if it's quieter.
I can't find anything to turn off the vibration though.
I'm yet to get my phone, so can't check, but have you checked in the sound settings? There's apparently an option for Vibration if I'm understanding page 129 of the manual.
" Vibration: Set when the device will vibrate for various events"
I'm hoping the fully charged event is one of these.
OK, so the ping isn't controlled by System, it's controlled by Notifications. Which is really stupid because if you turn the volume down on that how are you supposed to hear when you've got a text message?
Disabling 'Haptic Feedback' in the Sounds menu seems to disable the vibration part of the notification. It also disables vibration on all other UI interactions, though.
Anyone got a solution to this really annoying problem?
do you really have to have your phone so close to you when you sleep???

If you can try and get me something to go on, I can perhaps try to find out what is causing this vibration...
I am guessing it comes from the framework...

I don't have anything to go on other than that the phone makes a loud beep two times and vibrates when charged.
I mentioned it in one of previous topics covering this problem and I will mention it once again.
SGS i9000 had the same problem in one of the first firmwares. Vibrations and sounds when battery charged have disappeared starting from (I think) one of the first Froyo updates from Samsung.
Samsung will hopefully address this problem sooner or later.
I had autostarts purchased, from back when I had to worry about what was running. Looking it seems on plugging the phone to usb or charger it launches "Mtp application" guess that would be a good place to start.
On a slightly different note. Once the phone is fully charged, it stars to drain again. Is there an alarm clock app that keeps the phone around 98% then starts charging again 30 mins before the alarm is due?

But doesn't you change the sms sound from the sms app? Thats how it works usually in Androids. The notification sound is for any other notifications, but you can change different for the sms sound. Thats how it works in Nexus S at least. Same for the gmail app also.
I guess this is in services.jar
I will take a look shortly.
...uurm...dunno if this is what you guys want but
Have your mobile on silent. (Alarms will ring in silent mode)
Go to settings - sound - vibration - Only when not in silent mode
It won't vibrate nor make a sound whilst your asleep

So at least it works in that way. Thats how my phone is always at night. Good to know, my phone will come in about 1 or 2 weeks.

Please. I would be more than happy to send a donation!
There might be a solution if you are rooted...
In the folder /system/media/audio/ui there's a file called Charger_Connection.ogg and you can rename that to Charger_Connection.ogg.bak (personally I use adb and the 'mv' command, Root Explorer should work fine too).
Plugging in the USB cable now doesn't make a noise, just waiting to see what happens when it's fully charged...!
UPDATE: Nope, it uses a different noise... still looking...
Hey all,
New to the forum and first post!
Look forward to speaking and getting to know you all.
Question: Anyone having issues with the ringer volume?
Mine is set to Max but it's still so soft/low.
I can barely hear the phone in my pocket or jacket.
Any fix for this?
Thanks.
*added* - also vibrate is very weak!
Get a belt clip case to wear it, you'd look Sooo Cool

LOL! good idea!
but that won't help either.
if i can't hear my phone while it's in my jacket (pocket on the inside of jackets right where heart/below heart is). i doubt i can hear it on the waist!
is it only my phone or are there others out there with the same issue?
and before any smarty pants comments, my hearing is fine!
thanks!
Yep. Same here. Also the vibrate is horribly weak...

i use my own custom notification and ring tones, and have no problem, maybe someone with abit of time can put the stock tones through an audio converter and increase the volume
Here is what to do, (do exactly as I say before you say it did not work).
1- unlock your screen if it is locked
2- press home button (no mater what, just press it)
3- hold the valuem up for 10 sec
now it should be louder
Is there supposed to be any new / different notification after 10 seconds?

anyone else that has same issues?
anyone else that can help?
=)
I had the same issue I fixed it though by getting this App Volume+ from the Market. Then I downloaded this other app Zedge from the marketplace and replaced my ringtone.
Whenever I get a call, the ringtone is very quiet for a couple of seconds before suddenly playing at full volume. Increasing volume is disabled, so does anyone know why it does this?

Try checking and unchecking increasing volume a few times in the settings then. If that does not fix the problem you might be able to try wiping all data to do with the phone and sound settings in Settings > Applications..
It was doing it even when new out of the box though, and also when I first installed XXUAMDN, so it's definitely not an app issue or anything. Tried toggling the increasing volume toggle several times too.

you cant, but i dont know if you can when it is rooted
I'm rooted, so if anyone knows then feel free to share!
This S4 is my first Android phone and i was wandering this also as my phone has always done that for about the first 2 seconds which ive found very strange, never found a way to change it either.
I've had several android phones, but this is the first to do it.
My previous note 2 and the wife's s3 don't he same (as well as my s4).
Unsure if it's an android thing or Samsung thing.
I think it's so the phone ringing when your not expecting it doesn't frighten the living daylights out of you!
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2
It's definitely not an android thing, otherwise my previous 3 phones would have all done it too and I'd already have had a 5 year head start on learning how to stop it!
Right, just found it's a Samsung and LG thing. Seems you can edit the secphone.apk if you're rooted, or alternatively you can download an app called "disable increased ring" from the play store. With this app you get a persistent notification that it's running, but then if you go into application manager you can disable notifications for it. I tried the app and it works, no root access or custom rom needed.

I have this exact same problem on my s3 mini. So it's deffo a Samsung thing... Thanks for posting different solutions
"Disable Increasing Ring" app works fine so far.
