Axon 7 Warranty in Europe? - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

ZTE have been very quiet about the warranty in Europe, has anyone got an idea whether it will come with Passport 2.0 or is it just standard 1 year warranty?

Interestingly the firm selling on Amazon UK, according to their terms and conditions, offer a 2 year warranty
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I asked on Facebook about this.
They are working on a 3 years warranty, but no info about the date this will be available.
As I understood this, it seems to be different to Passport 2.0.

Will it come with the release of the phone? Hopefully we can get more details. Not too sure about that amazon warranty since the seller's located address is in China.

Is there any news about warranty? Any sources?
"Under EU rules you always have the right to a minimum 2-year guarantee at no cost if item is bought anywhere in EU." - says consumer rights, so I guess it should be at least 2 years?
Edit: UK situation according to amazon.co.uk "Guaranteed to return & replacement/refund within 3 momths, return & replacement within 6 months." What about the rest of europe?

Play.com (UK) - Price and Order date now showing

Pfffffttt ... what the!
I've been keeping an eye on Amazon UK and Play UK for the Galaxy tab, well Play now have a price and release date for the 16GB version ..... are you sitting down?
£899.99 Free delivery Due for release on 04 July 2011.
Edit: The spec isn't right either.
899 GBP for 16GB???? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No way ... too damn expensive ...
They are either mistaken or they're taking the piss, Amazon.de are advertising it at EUR 637,98, that's about £563.
I've just emailed Play.com asking why the price is so high and they've just responded with:-
Dear Customer,
We are pleased to inform you that 'Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 / Dual Core 1GHz / 16GB / 10.1 inch Touch Screen / Android 3.0 Honeycomb / Tablet' is now available to order. Click on the link below to pre-order now!

At that rate it would be better to order from Amazon.de although Amazon UK may announce a price soon? What are the implications of buying a German unit, it is just classed as a European unit, warranty wise etc?
Yes,
in this regard EU is treated as one so id does not really matter where you buy.
The only difference might be a posting cost.
I have bought stuff from Pixmania (FR) when I was living in the UK with delivery to Poland. (no problems). I have just bought (now being in Poland) Sapphire Xtreme HD 5850 - also no problem.
So... if amazon.de is first to send them away you do not risk anything.
In the past I bought Vaio form Sony Outlet in Holland - fine as well.
Having that in mind... I wonder if Apple isn't breaking the law (EU law) by offering only 12 months of warranty???
As far as I know all manufacturers selling their products in EU are supposed to offer 2 yr. warranty at minimum (no less).
And again on a different note... I am quite grateful for EU being regarded by manufacturers as one country/market. In the past we would wait ages in separate countries for lunch of devices, prices, updates, etc... it is without a doubt better than before we were all completely separate.
I called Play.com and they are looking into it to see if it is a pricing error. They will email me when they know more.
In the mean time, we need to find the best place to get this device in the UK, even if that means ordering from elsewhere in Europe.
I will let you know ass soon as they are available in PL. With Polish Zloty loosing ground because of Greece it might actually work out cheaper for you .
At the moment you are looking at approx. 625 EURO (predicted price, dont know about delivery).
Another issue is, although Samsung will honor warranty in Europe, if the product is faulty when it arrives I will need to send it back to the retailer and they might be abroad. Postage and a language barrier might cause some hassle.

That was my concern with getting stuff from USA (Motorola does not have a worldwide warranty and again - if you buy in USA, you only have 12 months ).
With buy in in EU it is not a problem - buy in Poland, UK, Greece - and you can get it repaired or exchanged through your local representative/service/etc.
It is very nice that it works this way.

Actually I think that was just an automated email as I'd signed up to be notified of availability, it can't be the response to my WTF email re the price on their site.
Folks, thanks for your input ref European warranty.
Thanks for the heads-up up on that, but that price must be a provisional one, much as happened with the initial pricing of the GS 2, which saw its price gradually drop down as its release approached to a much more reasonable level.
I have had my "hands on" today with Transformer.
As I treat this as "tablet for a while" I also want to be able to sell it easily in future and loose as little as possible.
SG 10.1 as much as it is sexy is too limited.
My choice will be Transformer 16GB + keyboard dock - and than I will wait for Kal-El or something else (light, with sd slot that plays mkv and other formats and has sexy look and great batt. life) - this will keep me going for a while.
At the moment I am only thinking... buy now (and use netbook as well) or wait till netflix app will show up as it should have a better price by that time... (I hope non of you think it - netflix app - will not show up).

You're most likely right about it being a provisional price, but what happens if a buyer orders it at the over inflated price and it then reduces by say £300, would they get it at the reduced price?
I'm weary of Play, they tried to pull a fast one on me a few months ago.

If I recall correctly Play don't charge your card until the item is ready to post. I've found they are rubbish when emailing, so I just call them and they are fine on the phone.

The model on Play has the 10.1v specs, not the 10.1 specs -- be careful.
Right, I received the correct reply from Play.com, ref my enquiry as to why the price is so high on their web site. They're investigating.

Yes that's what I did with the Transformer, I do prefer to be able to walk in and get it sorted straight away.
Called up Play.com and now they are looking into the specifications.
It probably didn't help that I got pissed off at the guy because he was giving me generic answers, so when he asked me how I knew their website was wrong I said I work in the IT sector and carry out the necessary research rather than spend all day talking to customers in a monotone and boring voice.
A galaxy tab for a down to earth price...
When the Transformer wasn't widely available, Carphone Warehouse had it. I ordered and it came the next day. I returned it to my local CPW (because of a screen gap), they refunded my card straight away.
Thinking about it though, the Galaxy Tab is expensive compared to the $499 that the US is being charged...so tempted to order it from Amazon.com using viaddress. I haven't used them before, but I'm thinking worst case scenario, I have to pay import duty so that'd put it near the price of Amazon.de - but if it works out, I could get one for about £350. Either way i'd probably get it in a week...

Buying 10.1 from States - international warranty?

Hi all,
I can get my hands on one in the States - but does anybody know if the 1 year warranty is international?
Thanks,
Keith.
I believe it will be a US warranty.
can you buy an aftermarket warranty? I bought one from squaretrade, that's probably US only, but there must be something for your country.
I bought mine in a US Best Buy and they assured me that the warranty was valid (with them rather than Samsung) in the UK Best Buy stores.
There is no international warranty. I've emailed Samsung and they said that warranty will only apply to country that you purchased it from
I live in the uk and recently brought a 10.1 tab back from the states. I had a problem 3 days in and contacted samsung. The info i got was that they may be able to fix it in the uk but you'd have to pay for it so i ended up sending back to the US. Parts and labour are covered but postage isnt. Cost me £16 to send it and about £30 for them to send it back.
I was recently in the US and I was told by Best Buy USA that if I purchase their warranty/protection it is good internationally. I did not enquirer further or check on a price.
I decided to wait on my purchase until it becomes available in Canada so I can get the warranty.
If GT 10.1 is purchased from Costco USA you have 90 days from purchase date to return it to ANY Costco. That's a possible option.
Sorry to hijack. Useful info on the warranty. Am heading to Vegas next month, would I be able to just walk in to a Best Buy and pick up a SGT - as in stock wise there is no issues over in the US? Would that be the cheapest place to pick one up?

You might want to order online from bestbuy.com for store pick-up (international orders now accepted). This will ensure the item is in the store should you decide to go. Store stock can fluctuate, no guarantees there. Don't forget to order the USB adapter if you think you wil need this feature. It would not hurt to fire off an e-mail to bestbuy to check on their international warranty.
Bestbuy will usually price match, so if you do find an advertised price they will match it. The only sale I have seen is from Staples and they offer an on-line or in-store coupon.

US Warranty
Here is the Samsung US site warranty page (32GB model).
SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS AMERICA, INC.

I could not find anything regarding an intenational warranty.
Hi. I bought a 32gb wifi tab in Vegas 3 weeks ago. Love it but it now has the newtons rings problem. I called Samsung support uk who promptly said my tab wasn't covered under the uk warranty.
Then called the us warranty service centre who said they would fix it but could not give me a service code as I didn't have a us postal address. They then gave me the international warranty telephone number but haven't tried it yet.
Does anyone have any ideas to get a replacement / fix?

That's odd, i called samsung support in the US and they can't put you on their system as it can't handle uk addresses. If they accept it's a problem then ask for a service order number. You will then need to call their warranty provider - a company called intellisol. Quote them the service order number and send it off to them. You cant do anything without the order number from samsung tho.
Samsung singapore is quite still clear that Samsung Singapore does not support international warranty. They specified this several times on their FB page.
Sent an item
Well I have a US tablet and im in UK and just sent it in for repair for the newton rings on the screen.
I am quite sure they will send it back to me unrepaired saying that it is a US device and I should send to the US - but in the meantime I have sent.
The US Support told me I should send there - but it is a lot of money to ship and they need a US address to return the goods whichis a bit of a nightmare.
Will keep people posted to see what happens.
I am from Australia and was on a recent trip to america, I purchased a Gtab 10.1 at Best Buy and they do have international warranties, it cost me 170$ for 2 years though =/

Reputable Online US dealers for SGS II

Anyone recommend a reputable online dealer that has the SGS 2 and at a competitive price?
Amazon and Newegg both have it around $575...
Anywhere else that is as reputable?
I got mine from expansys usa the first week they were out in UK and available in the US, you can save a few bucks and they are reputable in my book (this is my only transaction with them but you can read on your own)
a lot of us that bought the international SGS2, got it from Expansys-USA.com. worth a look.
If you buy the phone in the U.S. (from anyone, regardless of what they claim) it'll have no warranty as Samsung considers any product purchased outside its country of intended sale "grey market." Expansys-USA gets around that by sending the phone back to the UK for their U.S. customers should it need repair under warranty. You can also buy from Clove and Hantec in the UK as both ship to the U.S. It's $612 delivered from Clove right now and since it's purchased in the UK it retains the 2-year global warranty.
If not worried about warranty, then Amazon is pretty good. Also you can look at mobilecityonline.com from where I bought the white sgs2. You will get the new white sgs2 for $539 after $20 off coupon.

Expansys, my first order with them, but very happy with the transaction. Will use them for Galaxy Note.
Does mobilecityonline.com honor the warranty for an SGS II?
Or, is it only Clove and Expansys only?
I got mine from Expansys USA on June. Pretty quick delivery and no complaint about them.
I got my Sony X1 from Clove UK long time ago. Very good service and fast delivery too.
My friend brought one from Amazon recently but found it's being used (stated as new). So beware on for Amazon seller.
Great options mentioned so far. OP, if you are ok buying the locked AT&T version, it is $550 before taxes without contracts. This phone would probably be better "tuned" for the network, and would come with warranty.
P.S. sorry if my suggestion is too obvious

No. Technically, the phone bought at Expansys-USA doesn't qualify either. They get around that by shipping it to their branch in the UK should it ever need repair. If they go out of business (unlikely) your warranty would go with them as they're acting as an itermediary. The only way to get an "official" warranty is to buy the product from an authorized reseller in its intended country of sale.

Where to order from? (USA)

So after seeing nothing interesting in the AT&T announcement, I placed my order yesterday with Handtec.co.uk. Even though it was showing in stock, I got an email stating that it ran out of stock just as they were fulfilling my order.
I have Amazon Prime but they are showing 1-2 months shipping time. I'm trying to decide between waiting or paying a premium.
Any suggested reputable sites? I'm in Houston, TX if that matters.
David
I'd just wait for Amazon if I were you. No risk involved.

I was under the impression that Amazon will not help at all with warranty service if anything goes wrong with the phone (as opposed to Handtec or expansys who can help you with the service if you mail it back to them). Am I mistaken?
Got mine for $649 and free shipping end of November but don't know what it is now since I haven't been on the site. I had it overnighted and no issues at all
Ill look up the site if interested just let me know

If the GNote is fullfilled by Amazon, which mine from Global Mobiles is, the regular Amazon return policy is in effect. Might not help with warranty issues but you could return it if not to your satisfaction. I then bought aftermarket insurance for lost or damaged phone.
while they are not a US warranty - many still have warranties, including the Amazon sellers. Many selling from Hong Kong or UK , so you have to ship back there but are warrantied by authorized Samsung in that country. On ebay many reputable sellers have their own 1 yr warranty. Or on ebay most have squaredeals warranty for $89 ( on defects for 2 years) in the pulldown. Or through the squaredeals sits you can get a more expensive defects and accidents warranty ( w a $99 deductable).

For whatever reason, even Newegg has decided to stop selling the Galaxy Note. I get the feeling that even Amazon's shipment of 1-2 months won't be restocked.
It's like all of the affordable US sellers decided to stop importing the Note. I have a 100 GC with Amazon ....argh.
Thankfully I got mine from Amazon (Global Mobiles) a few weeks ago for $553.99 shipped overnight (had a $100 gift card). Best decision ever.

Nah. I can wait. No point rushing to purchase an item when I know it has no 3G support on T-Mobile. Patience is always a virtue. =)
Better phones will come along. Thanks for letting me know though, I appreciate that. At least I know these 100 GC won't go to waste.
Cheers.
I see several sellers with the Note in stock at Amazon at 730.00 with shipping of a little over 5 bucks. Handtec is selling for £485.99 which converts to 751.53 US and that would be just for the Note.
So unless I'm missing something, get one from one of the sellers at Amazon who say they have it in stock.

[Q] Complete pricing of Nexus in the US and elsewhere

Hi there. I am sorry if this has been posted before, but I couldn't really find such a thread.
Coming back to the topic. I am thinking of getting Nexus 4 from US through my cousin who lives there. As I browsed the SHOP NOW page at Google play store, it showed the price $ 349.00 for 16 gb version. What I want to know is that:
- what will be the final price of the device including the TAXES & SHIPPING to Stanton, California?
- and as Google has mentioned a few countries where it will officially launch the device and people can order it online. Does it mean the actual product will ship from the US to (lets say) Australia? Which means the shipping will dramatically increase? Will it?
Would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on it.
Thanks in advance!
Can anyone please reply
I can't answer you about US taxes, but when I bought my Nexus 7 direct from Google play (I'm in UK) they were dispatched within the UK. Well from Northern Ireland, but it's still technically a part of the UK. The delivery charge was £10, which is typical here in the UK. I'm sure they are dispatched locally if they are purchased within the officially released countries, or it wouldn't really make logistical sense for every individual order to be dispatched from the US worldwide.
So, if Australia was an official country, it would be dispatched from there, or somewhere close enough.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Appreciated. Thank you very much for your response.
As Makaijin has said before, it's not shipped from the US all over the globe but rather the local distribution centres. For the U.K. it's from the U.K. but here in Australia, stuff gets shipped from Singapore (it was for the Nexus 7 at least). Thank God Australia's an official launch country .
Ahan, Any idea about the TAXES one has to pay? As in, how much (tax) would one pay for this phone in the US?
and what generally are shipping charges in the US?
Going off the Nexus 7 @ $250 I paid $283 out the door. I believe California has 7-8% sales tax so that should be around $28 in tax plus I recall 2 day shipping on the Nexus 7 was $12. I'd say your out the door would be right at or just over $400.
