Balong Bug Marsmallow? - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I upgraded to Marshmallow B564 everything is fine, but the model number says "hi6210sft" instead of Ale-L21 in this version. The build is OK, I read something about that name and the balongbug. How can I fix it?
I have Ale-l23 converted to Ale-l21 and I make upgrade from B170 and B188 with no Balong bug. The problem is in this build.

you need to flash vendor file to remove balong bug... but i dont think we have it for b564 build... you need to rollback to b550 or b560 and apply vendor fix...
or check your update app and see if there's any update of size 200~400 MB...
or you need to go through the long way: goto b052 (double) or b132 (single) sim versions and make it all the way to here

I went back to lollipop by transition update and then local update another build like b130 I think with step 2 too, then update b170 by OTA. Can I go this way and update to B550 or I need to go all way back?
Note: I updated to B564 from official website not b550 like most guys says here, I thought it should work

I had BalongBug too, I fixed it by flashing B052, then self updating it to B170, then simply update to B550 via dload folder and then it self updated itself to B564.

Yes, it's the famous Balong Bug... Try to use vendor file

Thanks for the headsup on that, I have another vender I can try. I am assuming somewhere I got mixed up between dual and single sim which kinda seems to be the catalyst of balong bug

you cannot update it further... no OTA, no flashing... the only way to update is to remove the balong bug.. and for that, you have to downgrade

Upgrade Huawei P8 Lite to Marshmallow (ALE-L21)

(I'm new to this) So, I bought a P8Lite, and I have no problems with it, but it comes with Android 5.1. I'm in Greece and everywhere in this forum and elsewhere people seem to have at least Android 6, EMUI 4.x and hoping for Nougat.
I have not gotten any Marshmallow update, and on Huawei's official firmware site, checking for the ALE-L21, the closest thing to Marshmallow is a rollback package to Android 5.
What should I do?
Thanks
what is your build number? Since you're on Greece, you must have ALE-L21c432bxxx. If the value of xxx equals to 170 or 188 then you are eligible to get Marshmallow update. If, by any chance you're not getting it and you're already above b170 then i request you to follow this link

Yeah
It's been a while, but yeah, I downloaded b170 from the site and tried local update with its update.app. I get "Software install failed". What should I do? Should I try flashing b560 or something? The mega thread says I should have b170 and above (204 > 170)
(Late) UPDATE for anyone that might stumble upon this: Just local update with B560 and OTA to the latest

you can't install MM from a certain LP builds.
for example B186 doesen't get MM
I'll make it easier for u.
unlock your bootloader, download the MM latest firmware (update.app)
extract the system.img, boot.img, cust.img, and recovery.img.
flash it via fastboot (i.e "fastboot flash system system.img e.t.c)
and DONE! your p8 lite has MM

First you need to downgrade. You can do this by flashing this (http://consumer.huawei.com/nz/support/products/downloads/detail/huawei-p8lite-nz.htm?id=81666) file via sdcard. Then download this (https://goo.gl/zUPd1A) file. It has two folder. dload and dload2. First put dload folder in sdcard and upgrade. Then put second folder "dload2" rename it to dload and upgrade.
After this you may upgrade to B574.

Yes. You can convert single sim into dual sim. I personally don't know the method. But I know there is a thread this.
Thanks, first i hope that i downgrade correctly, and after that i'll update with the versions we talk about. If there i get a DUAL-SIM phone it will be fine. But a SINGLE-SIM were also right. I'll be happy if i got a fine Build Version and can update in future.
Was it needed to workreset after every update ?
Also i doesn't know should i use the update.zip files into the dload folder or should i extract it before.
Hi, i'm be happy to 50% behause my build-version was now ALE-L21C900B500 and i can use the Dual-Sim-Button, yeahh i've now Dual-SIM. Tho phone works correctly and the security-version was "Mai 2016" and Android 6.0 .
Yesterday i try to update to B564-update-OTA version, but it doesn't work, it break shortly after the EMUI-Update-process. Must i update First on an other Version?
Was it strictly to use the update.zip file into the dload folder or only the update.app from the extracted zip-file ? At second step do i need a vendor file?
I also not know use the huawei extractor or an winzip tool?
Is there a way to come to B574 ?
Best regards
Chris

If u want choose the 310mb to update faster

Hi, could you make a post with all the tricks and trick of build.prop for nougat. (5x5, double appl, private space, drawn, ect .....).
Because you went to tell me there is but everything and scattered. Please.
How can i update it? installed firmware finder, found this update VNS-L21C432B380 which is simply update.zip file, what do I do with it?
So what you are saying is - if I have B370 now, I can update to B380, using that ~300mb file ? Anyone tried this ? Successfully of course ?

Exactly same, I'm on b370
I just updated to B370 on L21 , and I got no OTA to B380.
EDIT : I got the full B380 OTA , working good.
I got OTA to C432B380 (I'm actually on C432B370). Does the update B370->B380 removes the root ? If yes, after the B380 update do I need again lock and unlock the bootloader to root B380 correctly ? I got recovery and root from these instructions (https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/development/twrp-t3588356). Thanks
Made a fresh install of B370, stock recovery, stock kernel, loked bootloader... B380 nowhere to be found, says that no updates are available.
FF doesn't work, FullOTA won't install (incompatible??), OTA (310MB) keeps re-downloading and never installs either. Ideas?
No update here too . I even removed the proxy settings from wi-fi . L21 , B370 - 1.943 Gb .

Thanks for your response. As I amusing firmware finder to install the firmware, would I need to install all the OTA versions or just 1 old MM like 321 and then directly Nougat585 ?
