Hello there pals, im asking to myself which is the best rom for lg g2, i was at resurrection remix and was pretty cool with all those options, but wasnt a lot stable, and there is no updates now for it, so i changed to cloudy g3 newest version, but its so heavy, like 6 gbs, and not too smooth, i was thinkin in flash some good kernel and then xposed, but, u think is worth for that weight? Which roms have u used and works well? I like personalization options.
Sorry for bad english and thanks
According to my experience i tried many roms cant find better than IceX Rom (old version) with Dorimanx kernel .stable fast excellent batery life and more , you can give it a try

Hi guys,
My LG G2 (D802) is getting a bit old Instead of buying a new phone, I thought I'd prolong it's life a little by rooting it and installing a new ROM.
I like stock, but my battery life is much worse now than when I bought it.
Can you recommend a ROM for me? It has to be sort of stable for daily use. I guess the Lollipop ROMs are not stable yet?
Something like an "optimized" stock ROM + root etc. would probably fit the bill until stable Lollipop ROMs are available.
What would you recommend?
I recommend Liquid Smooth, the milestone version. One of my favorite roms.
If you tired of the stock rom.just try the cloudyg3 you will have a g3 experience in your compact g2
Just like to buy a new phone.
Its stable as rock (tested 1.3 and 2.0) didn't try the 2.1 yet..
When you Like Stock then you should check out cloudystock or cloudyg3 when you want aosp with more features and more designs then i would highly recommend you Mahdi Rom
Happy Flashing?
IOS.
Hi, first of all, im getting my phone tomorrow so I havnt tried any ROMs yet. But I am familiar to the whole xda thing thanks to my Galaxy S2. I hope someone can help out
Im looking for a custom ROM that meets the following needs (D802 model):
- great battery life!
- lightweight (dont want it to take too much space since I have the 16GB variant)
- pure performance over looks
- stable, no bugs.
Thats pretty much it, which ROM would u guys think would suit me the best? Oh, and one more question. Whats the difference between "G2 Android Development" and "G2 Android Development (D802)" what goes under the first category then? I have the D802 (Europe) model, so I should be looking under D802 right?
I'll be getting the G2 in a few days too and I will try CM12 and see what LG features are missing and can i live without them.
With my experience with the G2 and some of flashing roms...I advise you to do the following: Get twrp recovery and flash CM12...the LG FlashTool that I used to flash it's a horrific little program...always breaking down! I have now 5.0.2 but if I knew I would get twrp recovery and flashed CM12...
It's an excelent ROM and it's so much easy to flash updates or other roms also...
Thanks for the replies. Can you link me the CM12 rom for D802 model, i couldnt find it myself for some reason.
e: found the CM12 ROM, but it appears that its not bug free?
XenonHD looks very promising, has anyone tried it?

If you want the best battery life use stock 20H.
Its lightweight too, if you purge the unneeded apps.
Its fast, if you dont use stock launcher.
Stable and no bugs.
With root, twrp, xdabbeb camera, adblock, xposed modules and works like a charm, its the best for this device.
Lollipop has some bugs, CM12 a lot of them in daily use.
But if you want more try MIUI V6 by gtbluesky. I love it.
Knife.mstr , thanks for the reply!
What about this one. This seems to be stock 4.4.2 but with bloatware already removed. What do you think of this ROM?
About MIUI...I have to admit, it looks really damn good but for some reason I am afraid to try it How does MIUI effect battery, performance (is it fluid), bugs and so on?

I didnt try it, but can be good.
MIUI 's performance is great. Battery is between stock 20h and 30b. Worst as kitkat but better than stock lollipop. (everything is upon usage)
Only few bugs, like music player drains battery a bit (can be freeze), not every xposed modul can be used.
For me the mipop was hard to use at first, but i liked it. (and can be turned off if you not)
If you run into install bugs, like no sensor or bt or wifi, just return to stock, then reinstall it.
Sometimes 4G dosnt work after update, in this case you need to set in hidden menu *#*#4636#*#* to another network, than return to default, thats fix it.
If you use titanium backup, you can freeze unneded miui apps, like video, or market but use the fun features like deny apps to reach your contacts.

A few thing about threads like this:
These turn into flame wars. Everybody feels their rom is best and will meet your criteria.
Have you searched?
Have you read the features of many different choices?
Have you done your own research on your device?
So here/s the suggestion. read, read, read and then read some more.

Hello everyone,
From few weeks Im using Cloudy G2 2.2 ROM + Dorimanx kernel with performance mode - and unfortunately this ROM is very slow, few days ago I bought another LG G2 D802 for my friend, it comes with android 5.0.2 stock. Of course this system is completely clean but difference with speed to cloudy g2 2.2 (andorid 4.4.2) is very big. This 5.0.2 rom is much faster, Im asking this question because i have read a lot opinion that older cloudy rom and older stock based roms are more stable and faster than lolipop. But now I see that is not true.
I need stock based rom because of camera (for aosp is very poor).
Which stock based ROM is fastest for LG G2? Thanks in advance for your opinions
cloudy 3.3 + xceed kernel imo
I will try this ROM, any other suggestions ?
From my experience the fastest stock based ROM on the G2 D802 is CloudyStock 2.7. Kitkat is much faster and memmory management is night and day comparing Kitkat and Lollipop. Stock Kitkat based ROMS are optimized to run much better on G2 than Lollipop ROMs. Its interesting that Cloudy 2.2 is running slow for you, maybe try to reflash and use the default kernel that comes with it without changing any kernel settings. This is the ROM I am using ATM and it is one of the fastest. Also try MIUI 7 based on stock Kitkat, Cloudyflex, Cloudystock as I mentioned and other stock Kitkat based roms if you want speedy and snappy performance. Cloudy 3.3 is also good if you want Lollipop but it will bog down after a while and only data wipe can restore its snappyness although frequent reboots can improove memmory management. Dont use Dorimanx kernel it always slows my phone down no matter what settings I use, IDK why. Also if you are using G2 or G3 tweaksbox try disabling it, some settings can slow down your phone. The same goes for Xtana and similar apps thet change systemui and framework apk. Unicon app for changing icons also slows down any OS. Try to run as stock as possible for the snappiest performance.
Good idea to disable g2/g3 tweaks - I will try it, As I remember, on original kernel system was similiar slow. Maybe I just need full format all data/syste/ etc and install clean rom from beginning. Also I will try to record speed of my phone just to comparsion, maybe it is normal but just for me means slow? I dont think so.

I dont think so either. Also when installing choose odexed in aroma, this also affects ROM speed, app openning speed and boot time. Deodexed is not necessery as you can easily theme anything with G3 Tweaksbox even if your rom is odexed. Try shuffling trough D802 development section and you will find a couple of great Kitkat based roms like Coqueror rom or stock 20f prerooted kitkat rom.

Sorry but it's not clear, you mean that is better to install odexed or deoexed rom on beginning?

Its better to install odexed ROM.
Best thing you can do really is flashing a non stock rom...the difference is insane. The major drawback is the camera...the quality is considerably lower. Battery life is more or less the same! Stock lollipop from LG is so bad...even with xceed kernel
You are absolutely right! I know this, camera is just one reason which keeps me with stock rom. I used cyan 11 before and diffrence was huge, I mean camera is so bad but speed sooo good. I think lg g2 is not complete phone for me because of this. Camera is something very important for most of the ppl, and this one for aosp rom is not even worth to rating...
Hello! I've been using Cloudy ROM for a long time but now I feel lack of RAM on my G2 Int. That's why I search for the ROM as close to pure Android as possible. Please, advice me some. Thanks!
P.S. I record a lot of video so tell me what to install in addition to this ROM in order to capture nice photos and videos. Thanks a lot.
Resurrection Remix
Give a try to Resurrection Remix rom, one of the best I've been testing.
Any LG ROM is better than any AOSP/CM ROM for G2. Fact. Stay on LG ROMs.

Both roms have pros and cons.
On AOSP (MM) multitasking is much better.
On LG Stock camera and battery is better.

You can try exodus and cm13 or blisspop.
I have benchmarked on exodus rom , clean install, via antutu benchmark and i get low score than my currently installed lollipop stock with bunch of apps and stuff.
Anyway , for me , if you dont want lots of customization and stuff, or not looking to get a marshmallow on your device, then flash stock lollipop, root, install twrp, install dorimanx kernel, greenify with exposed, and enjoy highest possible battery life.
go for the rom called Google edition 1.5. Flash Dorimanx. Be happy.
I use Dirty Unicorns with Lambda Dominó kernel and right now i have the most high batt/speed i ever had on my G2...
I'd say:
- for lightweight stock experience take somboon's stripped-down rom
- for a modern UX rom, take Ice-x rom. Take this one if You want to focus on photos and videos.
- for an up-to-date original android experience take Dirty Unicrons and Exodus roms. Both are AOSP base, both offer stability and lots of features.
These roms don't offer milions of customisations, but provide a great experience with excelent batterty life. At least for my D802.
I used all of them them as car navigation and did a lot of document photographing for my work.
All 4 are good daily drivers and never failed me.
It is up to You to tune the roms to Your needs. I have found out that both Dirty Unicrons and Exodus don't really need a custom kernel.
However Dorimanx's kernel is highly recommended for stock-based roms.
So I recomend You Ice-X with Dorimanx's kernel, but I don't know which version will work best for You.
I add that the AOSP MM roms are heated much more than the stock. Stock 25ºC-36ºC and 32ºC-44ºC AOSP...
With the lambda kernel and underclocking they improve a bit, but still warming up the phone rather than the stock, especially when using some app like the camera, gps,...
- For AOSP MM and great customization, Resurrection Remix rom [6.0.1_r46][UBER-GCC 4.9][CM13], great rom, + kernel lambda stable, improve overheating.
- For stock rom for my the best is ROM 5.0.2. stock based SRKG2-4-10 (Fast,Stable,Yummy) [3 In 1 ROM with Thai Food Names]
cm 13 snapshot was stable but i cant find it now...
Lineage 14.1 - everything seems working just fine (just don't use OTA)
is wifi connection keeps drop?
nope - it's all good
still searching for rom

can you tell me why this best one ? which roms you tried it (Nougat ) ?
Very stable, no crash, good camera settings, no wifi crash ,
Performance menu from energy saving to more performance, no advertising.
i ve tried lots of roms in the forum with my d802. i can say that (maybe you did but) i didn't get any advance when i tried latest versions of android. That's my opinion. they generally doesn't have features better than older ones. And doesn't have a good look either I think. Less performance , more battery drain. Very thanks to developers for always making us able to try latest Android. I also didn't like stock rom. it is getting lags after some use and doesn't have latest features of lg. My previous device was lg Optimus g. Things are same. i always get the highest performance and stability on lg based roms. and I think the best one is prime rom. I used it for six months and it still staying in my TWRP backups. now, i m using miui8 for it's amazing appearance. these are my opinions and i d like to see your opinions
