Wifi won't turn off when screen off - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
In settings I have "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" set to "Never" but wifi still doesn't switch off when screen is off. That's draining my battery very fast.
I'm on EMUI 4.0 ALE-L21C432B564.

Sorry for my English.

Try changing it to only when plugged in. See if that helps.

If you have location set to high accuracy check if GPS acceleration is enabled (advanced settings - location services - auxiliary location settings), this option uses wifi even if it's turned off to set location more accurately.
I'm not sure if it will help but might as well check it.

Thanks for replies but it didn't fix problem.
Found workaround with Automate (Tasker alternative). I made profile which disables wifi when screen off and enables wifi when screen on. Works perfect so far.

Help troubleshoot why Maps GPS is stuck on

Hey all,
Nexus 4, complete stock. I've been playing around with my location settings and cannot figure out why GPS will ALWAYS keep running regardless of my settings. The GPS Timer will keep ticking up no matter what, even force closing Maps application.
Settings -> Location Access
Settings -> Google account -> Location settings -> On/off
Maps -> Settings -> Location Settings -> Uncheck all / Not reporting
Only solution I've found is to restart my phone, anyone else experience this or know how to fix it?

Go to settings > Location access make sure everything there is unchecked and/or turned off.
If your problem still persists, you can use Greenify from the play store
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
This helps to stop GMaps from running in the background.
If you rather not root or your problem still persists you should try doing a factory reset.
If all else fails, RMA!
Good luck

[Solved] Llama: How can I enable/disable deep-sleep mode?

I use Llama on my Defy+ (Kayant's Slim Bean 3.1.0 ROM) to monitor my wifi for a minute every X minutes (it's more complex than that, but this explanation will do). However, it appears that the wifi check times out after the phone goes to deep-sleep.
Reading around I found Deep Sleep Battery Saver's thread, which seems to imply that wifi will not work when the phone is in deep-sleep.
I do not want to use Deep Sleep Battery Saver as its behaviour is not as flexible as the scripts I have in Llama. Thus, I'd like to be able to turn on/off deep-sleep from within Llama (either by calling an application that does it, or invoking an Android Intention that does).
Anybody knows if what I want to do is possible, or will it require a change to llama itself?
EDIT: Thanks! I know how to fix it now I am trying a different Wi-Fi Keep Alive app, though, we'll see how that goes.

There is an option in WiFi-Advance- Keep WiFi on during sleep: Set that to always

Might not be related, but do you have location logging in certain apps (facebook etc) enabled? And is Location settings set to WiFi and GPS? Because it sounds to me like something keeps using WiFi and GPS for something.
Go to settings>wifi, hit menu button on the bottom left and select advanced. Untick scanning always available... You can also change "wifi always on" too but I tend to leave it on....
Thnx all wifi is fixed but gps not

Weird gps turning on by itself

Is it possible to check which app has used the gps? Afaik Android has no such way which is annoying. Correct me if I'm wrong.
(my location is always set on high accuracy btw, which means it is a combination of both network location and gps. Afaik there shouldn't be any gps related drain even if the gps option is enabled, as long as it is inactive for the whole period)
The gap between the picture is the time I slept, (left phone completely idle) yet something seems to be using the gps to get a lock. Obviously I live indoors so the gps will fail to get a proper lock. I presume it will continuously try to get a gps lock (draining the battery) until some timeout kicks in.
Note for the whole duration my mobile network was set to 2G.
Getting high Msim_hsic_host wakelocks too. No idea how to get rid of them. I also used these aggressive amplify settings

Did you allow Google to track your location when you set up your account on the S4?

Disable Wifi-Direct warning popup when turning on native hotspot?

Anyone know how to disable or remove the warming that devices will disconnect when turning on the native hotspot? It prevents me from enabling hotspot from the notification panel with the screen locked. Which I would like to do. I've attached a screenshot of the warning I am talking about.
Currently on my phone:
Wifi is set to off.
In Wifi advanced settings, I set wifi to never be on during sleep & turned off smart network switch (which is the renamed 'connection optimizer').
In more networks, nearby device scanning is off and under media share so is nearby devices.
I have disabled nearby devices, nearby service, wifi-direct & wifi-direct share apps. Yet the message persists. If I toggle wifi on then off the message will not appear for a time.
I have been searching everywhere I can think of and haven't been able to find a way. Either here on xda or on anything I can find via google. Its just inundated with useless (to me) info about enabling wifi hotspots and not disabling this message.
910v, on MM 6.0.1, unlocked bootloader/rooted using stock touchwiz.
