Does anybody know what the SMS message I seem to get randomly (seems random to me, I haven't worked out what I do, or when it seems to be generated) means? It appears as the X1 generates it?
It's from 7076
The content is dynamic but always starts and ends with:
//wma:4010//SVxxxxxxxxxxxxxx=//VS
Thanks in advance.
Could it be to do with your network provider? Maybe try changing sims and see if you still get the message
I've only got the one SIM. Had it for a few years now (4?) Same provider, different phone. Never got them on the old Z1010 or Z610i, just the X1.
I can't work out when they happen. Maybe when softresetting after removing the battery? Not sure. They don't come every day.
i.e The ones I've kept:
27 Jun
1 Jul
4th Jul
5th Jul
5th Jul
6th Jul
9th Jul
I believe these messages are a result of using and then uninstalling the Email on 3 app.
The app uses "invisible" smses to get notices about new mail so that it doesnt kill your battery constantly connecting to the net and checking (supposedly).
I noticed I got odd smses like that after I uninstalled Email on 3, but after a day it stopped happening.
Good job, thanks for that.
I am using the Email on 3 app. (Still using it). It's a pain living in a roaming zone, so their flat fee for email is handy for me. 6 accounts is enough too. I can't afford to use normal push email / internet 90% of the time.
I haven't had one of these SMS's since I posted this thread, but I'm guessing next time I have the battery out I'll get one.
Hello everyone!
I've got some weird issues with my Samsung Focus. Throughout the day, my phone doesn't receive any messages. It can be for periods of 10 hours. If I shut off my phone for a minute, then turn it on, I'll either get a message then another a minute later..etc.. Or I'll get a flood of messages at one time. The messages were all sent from the past, and come in the proper order, but not at the right times (they have a delay). I didn't have this issue until I started looking around at my diagnostic application so I believe I accidently changed a setting in it. I've already talked to at&t but the store here won't do much with it because the water indicator is red. I have my phone in developer unlocked state (I sideload apps and apps that I make). The reset data functions don't seem to change the diagnostic settings back, so I'm thinking I'll have to flash it with an original rom, but I'm not an expert by any means, but I'll understand whatever instructions or tests that are given.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I haven't had a phone that never had text messaging issues so this is a bit annoying for me when people think you're ignoring them.

I want to start off by saying I have 1 or 2 group messages that go on throughout the whole day, every day. When I first got the Verizon S7 edge, I had zero issues for the first three days. All of the sudden, at least once a day, there is an issue receiving and sending group messages. I can't link it to anything specific besides it happening most when the group chat is most active. 11 people in the chat are sending multiple messages at a time and then I'll send a message at the same time and i realize mine is not sending and then I stop receiving everyone else's messages. If I go to the individual participants chat in my texting app, there will be a bunch of messages that are downloading. This has happened to me in the past with other phones, but its usually linked to having bad service at a certain time and simply turning mobile data on and off will fix the issue. I cant link it to anything this time, it happens randomly. It doesn't matter where I am, if I have 1 bar or 4 bars, if wifi is on/off, bluetooth is on/off. The messages eventually start coming in, but I dont know what causes that to happen either. I could restart the phone 4 times before it helps. The only thing I can say is it happens most often when the group chat is most active. I'll also mention that this wasn't an issue in the first 3-5 days of using the phone. Below are the steps I've already taken to try and resolve the issue.
1. Wifi on/off
2. Mobile data on/off
3. Restarting the phone
4. Tried 4 different texting apps - Hangouts, google messenger, samsung messenger, verizon messenger
5. Factory reset
6. New SIM card
7. Swapped the phone out for a brand new one. Issue started again with the new one after 3-5 days.
8. Enabled every app that was disabled
9. Activated/deactivated advanced calling
10. Called Verizon tech support - We replicated the issue and thought it was due to "delete old messages" being turned on in the settings. Tech support thought the phone was trying to delete old messages at the same time I was receiving a bunch of texts and everything would get stuck. Everything seemed fine after changing that, but it happened again a few hours later.
11. I've run out of options
I had the Note 5 before this and had zero issues with that phone and I've never had an Iphone.
Please help

To add to my list of problems with this device I'm now having issues where web pages quit loading. I'll put in the address in the URL and it won't load. I tried on Wi-Fi and on my data access 4G LTE (three bars)... I've tried two different browsers as well. It doesn't do it all the time, but at least two or three times a day. Web pages won't load for several minutes or until a device reboot. I don't see the point in talking to Sprint about it since it does it on Wifi as well. A couple of times a day doesn't sound like a big deal, but there have been times where I'm trying to price check at a store or do something for work, and it just won't work. It is very aggravating and embarrassing when I'm with a client.
It affects apps as well. XDA app won't load when this is happening too...
I might just have a lemon, but I'm too afraid to swap for warranty, because I just got this unlocked and it's mint condition, so it'll sell well. I'm just more curious if anyone else has this issue...
If anyone knows; if I do a warranty swap will I have unlock status still or will I have to wait another 50 days on the new device?
To add for your information I have done 2 FDRs since purchase just under 60 days ago...

I would suspect it's an application you have installed.
Try using it without installing your all you apps and install them one at a time to see which one is causing the issue.
What browser do you use I've noticed Firefox has a delay before it loads a page on my essential phone but chrome is instant
