Download firmware from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/huawei-p8-gra-l09-b321a-marshmallow-t3352572 , unzip "dload" folder to your sd card, in phone go to settings > update > local update, and it will automaticaly start upgrading.
Few thing you should know about Marshmallow:
- B321a is latest version for GRA-09 model
- Some users reports big battery drain, the others reports big gain in battery life (like me), so its about luck i quess
- Message led notification is not working (emails and everything else is working)
- system is noticable faster and has better UI
- in case of any trouble, downgrade process is pretty difficult for newbie, so you will need to study how to do that
Cheers
Hi,
You should first upgrade to the latest lollipop, that is B200 Full upgrade, then you go to the thread about marshmallow and follow instructions there.

i will just say that this can be fixed with use of light menager, aswell as setting different colours for notifications etc.

Have you found a solution for this? I checked the net and apparently this build number is for Orange Spain.
We have the same build number, GRA-L09 C109B190, and haven't found any solution on how we can get Marshmallow update unless we try to root our device.
Please keep me posted if you found anything. Thanks!

Afraid that I haven't found anything to assist me in upgrading the P8 to MM without rooting. :crying:
I recently stubbled across a Huawei german site, but so far they haven't provide much assistance...
German site: http://www.huawei-info.de/
I use google chrome to try to translate the German language .
Hope it helps
I'm still searching
Please let me know if you found a way how to update without rooting. I'm still searching as well and haven't really found any solutions. Tried to posts to different sites but haven't got any valuable reply. I'll keep you posted, mate. Cheers!
Hi, just want to share what Majaczos answer to my inquiry.
. It seems that you have branded software from your operator. First step - clean debranding:
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/huaw...a-l09-t3210658
Second step - install B370:
2.http://forum.xda-developers.com/huaw...w-6-0-t3417212
You're doing it at your own risk. Remember that B370 is still a beta, some bugs may occur.
Currently my build number is GRA-L09 C900B170
And updating my device OTA to B200 version after finishing step 1.
Hopefully, I'll get an update to Marshmallow OTA as well.
Enjoy tinkering your device

I just upgraded to 6.0 and it was simple,
All the files required were in the German site that I listed above.
Everything was done using the full update, b200 and b321a
I did it via local update and emui.
It took me approximately 1 hour after I figured everything out.
I did not have unbranded my phone.
So far all is working great. Not sure if I will get OTA after the upgrade but ohh well
Hi,
I already downloaded all mashmallow packages for P8 I could find on the huawei support pages,
but none included in the compatibility list the following build:
C432B311
C432B111
It may be a recent build as I got the phone a couple of month ago, or it may be a custom build from my operator (country: Portugal) ...
Any idea what this build is, and if there is a package with android 6 I could use ?
Regards,
Antero
What is the phone's model number in Settings > About phone > Model number?
Edit: Sorry, just noticed you mentioned GRA-L09 in the thread's title - is that correct?
Yes,
I confirm, it is a P8 GRA-L09.
Just in case, here is all the information ... And by doing it I can see a typo on my post, it is B111, not B311
GRA-L09V100R001C432B111

Similar query (B111 to Mm) on XDA here with no answer: How to upgrade Huawei P8
Have you contacted your network operator to ask if they will be issuing a Marshmallow update & when?
I guess you have tried checking for OTA updates from within the phone?
Settings > Update > Check for updates
HiCare app > Me tab > Check for updates
HiCare app > Service tab > OS Upgrade Early Adopters
Click here if you need to download & install the Huawei HiCare app.
Thank you for you response.
- so far I did not get any response from my operator
- I tried the different menu you listed, but the response is always that there is no update available.
I also sent an email to huawei support ...
As it looks like an official release that's very strange to not find any description anywhere.

Hi,
I have NXT-AL10 and I updated to Android Nougat two days back. Here is how I did. First step is to get the Huawei ID.
1) I followed the instructions in this youtube video. Watch the video and you will know where to click on that fancy looking icon on webpage to get the code. once you get the code, put in your email, type the password, confirm the password and done.
I found an english website where you can register for Huawei ID Click Here
2) You now have the Huawei ID.
3) Go to settings and then log in using the Huawei ID in (screenshot attached below)
4) In the settings - > go to Huawei ID -> put in your login credentials and you should see "account center" on top. Below you should see member -> gold membership. Click on that. (screenshot attached below)
5) Now you will see Manuals, Service, Forum, Member. From this click on "service" and below select - > update (screenshot attached below)
6) Here you will see Nougat update. It will be 2.10 gb and you can update to Nougat very easily from here. It is matter of few minutes before it restarts and finishes the Nougat update process.
This process doesn't require any root and it takes a total of 20 minutes or so. Since my Mate 8 and didn't want to root so quickly, I followed this procedure. And it worked. Now Mate 8 is butter smooth. It is really worth. My mate 8 is different model than yours so I dont know if you can do the same process but you can try and see if it works out for you. Hope I explained properly and hope you succeed.
Cheers!

THIS WORKS. Why Huawei has to make this process so complicated is beyond me, but after countless attempts at getting to nougat via fastboot, twrp, etc, I am finally downloading the legit OTA with this method.

Hi,
I didn't do anything special to get gold membership. When I logged in with my Huawei ID it was automatically showing Gold Membership.
Your model is NXT-L29 , since it is an international model may be because of that reason you are not able to see I think.
But to show the Huawei services you can try the following steps.
1) Open the Huawei ID
2) Click on the membership details ( If you have the option, I hope it is showing some kind of membership )
3) Select - member -> settings ( screenshot attached )
4) Then under Settings - > Location ( screenshot attached )
5) Under Location - > Select "China" & region -> Asia Pacific (Screenshot attached ) [You can change this to your region any time later]
6) Now go to Service - > Update ( Here you should see the new OS version and size of the file if everything is ok)
This process worked for me because my phone model is NXT-AL10. I purchased just few days back. As soon I received it, I did it this way as I felt this was lot safer and easier. You can also try the above steps. If it works then you will be able to update to Android Nougat very easily. Nougat is really awesome on Huawei Mate 8. Give it a try. I hope it works for you.
Cheers!

Hi,
You have done everything right.
Is yours single sim chinese model? NXT-L09
if yes, then it should work unless they explicitly allowed only NXT-AL10 to do it this way which I doubt that is the case here.
Did you set the location to china?
Do you have same menus or is it different? Please check the screenshots if you and I have same options in that App.
I am asking this because I didn't have "OS update early adopter". For me, I just see service and under that "update". Another thing is I used Huawei ID from settings directly even though Hicare was showing the same thing.
I received a new update B573 today. I hope you get it too.
My update process - > EMUI 4.0 -> EMUI 4.1 -> EMUI 5.0. When I received my phone I got update for EMUI 4.1 and then I updated to 5.0. That is how it happened for me.

Hi.
No, mine is single sim but L09C636xxx. I am from Australia and this is the official mate 8 that is sold in my country.
therefore when i select region i choose Australia not China.
No the menus are slightly different and i have less icons. also the icon i have is "OS update early adopter" not just "update".
i tried to go from huawei ID from settings directly but cannot find services (and not gold membership either). just account and then next screen is "phone" and "email". i really need to go from HiCare to see "service" menu.
also, my latest is B211 and this is still 4.0 i dont have emui 4.1 yet maybe thats why...
many people say this model L09 is not good because less support from huawei.
thanks anyway will wait for emui 5 maybe next year
It is still possible

Hi,
Yes menus are slightly different.
The version of my HiCare is 5.0.1.303.
But you can get those extra options by changing the location from Australia to China and region to Asia pacific (its just temporary). I am in US.
This process is reversible. I tried it on my phone. when I changed my location to US on the phone, I didn't see lot of options but the moment I changed it back to China I was able to see all the options.Since you are not doing anything risky, it is worth a try because Android Nougat is really amazing.
You can try one last time by changing the location and see if it works. If you succeed your phone will have Nougat and if you don't at the most what can happen is you won't see any update.
So it is not all over. You still have that opportunity to update to Nougat by doing this way.
This phone is a beast and it will feel like a completely different phone with Nougat.
I want you to enjoy that and feel the difference. I am sorry if I am being too pushy. I am just excited about this phone because I feel your phone is just one step closer to Android Nougat. And that is why I am encouraging you to give one last try. I hope you succeed. Good luck.
Cheers!

Hi,
Did you change the region to Asia Pacific? if not please do that also. You have to change the region to Asia Pacific along with location to China. Both of these steps are important and required. That option is just above the place where you change the location to China.
I hope it works for you.

Hi,
@erwinsie & @klekot31
You both still have hope. Different countries get update at different times.
So the update might take a little time to reach your country.
I am saying this because, I saw Google+ post in Huawei mate 8 community for italy where they received the B573 first but I didn't see the update until 2 days later. I was also little sad at first but suddenly I saw the update and boom I updated it Nougat latest version.
So my sincere request. Please put the country as China, region as asia pacific and then leave it for few days or say 10 days or may be a month. You might see the update suddenly popping up on your screen. It should work. You can always revert this back to your region and country once you finish installing Nougat. It is reversible process. So from my experience it is not all over for you guys. You still have hope. It is just a matter of time. Even though you don't see the update for the moment, it is not over you might see it in coming days or weeks.
Cheers!

I have a NXT-L09 too in New Zealand (Asia Pacific) I followed all this so I can upgrade from Mashmellow to Nougat and it keeps saying I have the latest software and no software is made available from early adopters

Hello everybody
I have a Huawei P8 (GRA-L09) with EMUI 4.0.1 on it. A friend of me has the exact same phone but in black, and he has already the 4.0.3 update. Which is for example eye-comfort what I really find useful. Update-management and HiSuite can't find any updates. Is there a way to get the update anyway? Note: I have bought him refurbished with Android 6.0, and when I boot, I see the logo of Vodaphone. How can I update my phone?
Thank you!

The most likely reason you're not getting past 4.0.1 is because your phone is network-branded - by Vodafone in your case.
So, unless you debrand your phone (example here) to enable you to safely install the latest non-branded update(s) manually, you'll have to wait for Vodafone to release newer updates.
Can you tell us the full 'Build number' in Settings > About phone (in this format or similar: GRA-L09CxxxBxxx). Also, which country you bought the phone from?
Thanks for your reaction! I don't have experience with that sort of things so I'm not going to try that. Thanks anyway for the idea. My buildnumber is GRA-L09C02B397. I've bought the phone on greenmobile.nl, so I think he's from the Netherlands.

No problem, I was not recommending to try it, but only mentioned it so you'll understand the difference, & that it is possible.
Anyway, I think you're in luck, as Vodafone have released a EMUI 4.0.3 update, which you can get from here (view the screenshot posted by djg269 in post #3): [Firmware] Huawei P8 GRA-L09C432 B403 posted by member Kris van Kooten

I've no idea, as these things differ from one company to another.
As you'll be applying an official network update, it shouldn't be a problem, but if in doubt ask greenmobile.
I have the same problem kindly help me
The problem.is same but my model no is GRA-LO9C02B191.It is not detecting any update what should i do?
1st hint
Go settings > update > menu > download last full update. It is possible that hidden update will show.
2nd hint:
Download B200 official update, transfer on SD card and update manually. Then all updates shall be possible to do.
3rd hint:
Make debranding as in tutorial and then install on B170 a B200 update as in hint 2. Somwhere near B380 it will be required to make as in hint 1 to get B520 (newest one)
Hi all,
I've had my P9 Lite for about 10 months now and I haven't recieved one system update yet. I've been waiting for the OTA system update for EMUI 5.0 but alas, it hasn't come to my phone and I don't understand why. The phone Android security patch level is 1 June 2016 and that is worrying as well! My Build number is VNS-L31C440B132 and I was looking for a way to update to the latest availble version while also keeping my current phones data. The Updater in the settings always says there is no updates available and i've tried using 'Firmware Finder' as well but the updates failed.
I'd appreciate any help with the matter.
Thanks,
Charlie

https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/how-to/vns-l31c440b380-t3617778
In 1: maybe you can try the three-button method (dload).
In 2: try to do the update with the pc and HiSuite (update the system).
In 3: you can also test a firmware updater v2 application and hisuite. https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/huawei-p9-p9-plus-firmware-updater-t3435873
In 4: or do the bootloader code request and install recovery twrp for MM and install nougat.
Thanks for the help here, your method worked absolutely fine, I appreciate it. Nice to see a great community here.
Thanks,
Charlie

Hi Barbu,
I found a quick way to do this.
Downloading the updates might take a while so make sure your phone is on charge or charging.
First you want to go to the app store and download Firmware Finder (XDA wont let me post a link because I haven't posted 10 times so you'll have to search.
Then go to Settings > Use proxy for install > Download Addon. An apk will download, install this.
Then go to Firware Finder and click this magnifying glass at the bottom right to refresh. Then look for the update that ends in 'B160' and has 'FullOTA' in the name.
Click on it then > GET AN UPDATE THROUGH PROXY. You will be taken to the Proxy App where you need to follow the instructions on screen.
Then you need to go to your phone settings and click on 'Update'. After it scans and finds a new update you need to click on it and then quick install. While it's installing you might want to go back into your WiFi settings and change proxy to 'None' just in case there is connection issues.
Once that update is installing your going to want to repeat these steps but this time install 'B382 FullOTA'. This should give you EMUI 5.0 with loads of new features now!
It might work by install B382 straight away but it didn't for me.
I hope this helps!
Thanks,
Charlie
Hello, thanks for ur help
U said it didn't works for you but it should work for me huh ?
the problem is that mine is neither b160 nor B382 ... it' an b132... so it's not the appropriate file for my headset, no?
Sincerly, i'm a bit worried about this Update it seems like hack or jealbreak ... don't u think

I can assure you this isn't a "hack" or "jailbreak". Firmware Finder was even developed by members of the XDA community and it's 100% legit. I had the same problem as you Barbu, I was on B132 and wanted the new android 7 update but my phone is also on EE and it wasn't rolled out. All I did was what I detailed in the steps in my post and it worked, and B132, B160 and such are just the version number so installing the B160 will just give you a new firmware update.
Thanks,
Charlie
(Sorry I can't explain it better)
It's ok very clear i'm trying it now ... just assist me

No. You need to wait until the update has installed. This might take a while as it has to download then your phone will restart and the update will install.
Thank u very much my friend i will tell u the news once the installation finished ...
last question: why don't install the b382 directly without installing the b160 ?

Just didn't work when I tried it so I thought it's better to be safe.
First, thanks for info and effort.
I did everything you wrote. But after I change proxy server, as it stands in Firmware Finder Proxy, and tap Update, nothing happens. There is no update. Maybe I didn't change proxy in right way. But, I googled it just in case, changed it again, and again there was no update.
One more thing. In Firmware Finder, there is firmware for VNS-L31C440B132 in the list. So, I did not chose "B160" and "B382" like you said. Then, I did as you instructed, and there was no update.
Any help?
Thanks.

First off, is there any other firmware in the list or just the one ending in B132?
And did you:
Click Get an update through proxy and they get taken to the proxy finder app where it gives you instructions on what to do to your WiFi settings? Because after you have done that go straight to settings > update > then check for a new update. A new update should appear in red.
If this didn't help just give me another shout and I'll try and help more. If not, there is some firmware finder threads on here as it was developed by person/peoples from the XDA community.
Thanks,
Charlie

I did it!
This time I followed your instructions, first B160 then B382 but not via GET AN UPDATE THROUGH PROXY, but GET AN UPDATE THROUGH DNS (BETA). And it all worked for me.
Regarding your instruction, I couldn't get an update for B132, no matter what I tried and how I changed proxy server.
In the list there are 8 firmwares. FullOTA B383/382/380/370/160/132 and OTA B160/132. Then I tried B132 FullOTA through dns (beta), I got an update, everything went well, but when I checked About phone, there was no change, Emui and android version did not change. Then I tried with B132 OTA, but it failed during installation, twice. Finally, I tried B160 FullOTA first, then B382 FullOTA through dns, and now my phone is on Android 7.0 and EMUI 5.0.
Through dns is just 3 taps, then check update and that's all.
Guys, give it a try both ways, hope you will succeed.
Charlie, thank you for information.
Hello Charlie

Like many other disappointed EE customers who never got a single OTA update for their VNS-L31C440B132 I would like to use this method as it looks pretty straightforward (no unlocking bootloaders/rooting etc) but I may be too late to the party:crying:. Without showing all the details, FF currently lists the following available firmware for my device:
VNS-L31C440B383, VNS-L31C440B382, VNS-L31C440B380, VNS-L31C440B160, VNS-L31C440B160, VNS-L31C440B132, VNS-L31C440B132
The only ones that are approved are both the B132s which are OTAs and there is no longer a B160 that is a full OTA update. They are just (incremental?) OTAs. FullOTAs now start from B380. Perhaps the files I need are no longer available. Is it time to give up, or am I missing something here? Fortunately I now also have a Lenovo P2 with global ROM which DOES get OTA updates!
**Update**. I emailed DEV and they think Huawei may have moved some firmwares but that the missing ones may re-appear in a future scan of their servers, so I will periodically check to see.
Cheers

Last night i managed to update my phone from VNS-L31C440B132 to VNS-L31C440B383 using the method in this thread. I installed the B160 OTA update first through firmware finder via proxy. It listed it as only 740mb (ish) but when i actually installed it through system update it downladed 1.74GB (ish) which installed fine. I then updated to B383 through firmware finder via proxy again which worked fine too. Give it a go it worked for me

Oh great. Thanks. Did you bother with either of the B132s dated 2016.07.14 first (perhaps they are patches for B132) or did you just start with B160? There are 2 B160s dated 2016.10.16 (753MB and 166MB). Did you do a "Check Firmware Access" to see if it was approved? It isn't for me, but perhaps it works anyway. I wonder why the one listed for you was 740MB (perhaps the sizes aren't that accurate)? Are you then saying you missed out B380 and B382 full OTAs and went straight to B383? Sods law is B383 isn't showing up right now, but hopefuly it'll return soon lol

I didnt bother with any B132 updates. I went for the biggest B160 update which probably was 753MB but when i actually went through the update app it downloaded 1.74GB. I didnt check firmware access. After it had updated to B160 i installed B382. I mistyped B383 earlier sorry. I am now running B382 and everything is working great

Thanks for coming back on this. Unfortunately I haven't been able to install B160 yet. After selecting the 753MB B160 OTA I selected "get an update through proxy" and modified the network settings. I returned to the FF app and selected "download". I am presented with the following list of selectable options: 1)update.zip ee/gb/ 2)update_data_full_ee_gb.ziphw/default/ 3)update_data_full_hw/default.zip hw/eu 4)update_data_full_hw_eu.zip hw/normal 5)update_data_full_hw_normal.zip
I selected just option 1 and ok and the download started. I left the network settings as localhost and 8080 until after the download completed. I ended up with a file called update.zip size 1.69GB in folder Local>Internal storage>HWFF>98030> but have no idea what to do next to complete the install. Should an install option have appeared at the end of the download or more options appear in the FF app settings? Huawei Updater ("Check for updates") doesn't see it. I don't have an external SD card but don't see why it would need one. Not sure how to proceed, but at least I haven't broken anything
