Hi everyone, so i've ran into a bit of an issue with installing a custom recovery on my phone as it seems to be a rare variant... No one currently has any recoverys or ROMs that claim to work with this device so i guess ill have to do some trial and error and post my success if any, i need help tho *-*

Hi,
I've recently been trying to port this device to AOSP 6.0/CM 13, and so far the best I have is a system that freezes at the Samsung splash screen. I am working on building TWRP as well, so I'll get back to this forum if I make any substantial progress in the effort.

There you can find a link to a working CyanogenMod recovery image. It's nothing amazing like twrp, but it'll do the bare minimum without crashing (like the TWRP for G530H does on this device).
I also started compiling a custom rom, working somewhat. Again, all there on the link.

Your gonna be hard pressed to find anything for that device at all. It has only the bare minimum ram to run Android and that OEM has not released the kernel source code for the device so until that happens you are out of luck

Prabhu ji next time dont buy a mtk based phone in india... No matter which company like micromax / intex / bla blah never realeses any sources...no compliance to gpl.. So buying such a phone and expecting lots of custom roms is bad... Although canvas series have few custom roms ...they are stock based....
Yeah. While the Oppo R819 means there is hope for custom firmware on MTK devices, even with Oppo's help, MTK devices are a freaking nightmare.

I want to port custom rom for it.
Can anyone suggest me porting guide and PORT rom for this device? Also can we port any rom based on Android 6.0 for it?
There is a root for the lollipop version which I had, but now that there is a Marshmallow version, no root is available.

Nah mate it doesn't work. Gets stuck at the Logo..
Bought this off bay market with fake 8.1 but it's really a kitkat. Can't find info anywhere maybe due to it's age. Hoping someone here has similar one before upgrading.

I have a similar unit to yours. The "brand name" is YODY and i cant find any info on it. Its running fake 6.0. I found it has root but only in terminal emulator. I dont know a whole lot about mediatek units but they seem very different compared to other android phones i've messed around with so i've been reading up on them before i try to do anything to it. I would like to get full root and install viper and boost the mic gain. An upgrade to 8.1 would be great but i cant find firmware. I think whatever we do we will have to do it all on our own. Firmware options
Do a search for the Ezonetronics RM-CT0011. There are 2 or 3 versions of firmware on a russian site. I've tried them, they're nothing spectacular with no real improvements on the known bugs. I'm currently using a version dated 2018-05-05
