process system isn't responding after kernel flash - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, i am new here. So this is my problem. I got a Note 3 International N9005 i flashed the DarkWolf_FW S7 Edge Rom and after that i flashe the idle Kernel for Port 7.
After that my phone boot up but i didnt show the homescreen. So i went back to my normal Kernel Darklord Marshmellow Kernel.
But from then on i couldnt find my music, pictures etc. anymore.
My system didnt recognize that i have a internal and external storage.
My Pc just show one storage wth 128MB with nothing in it.
But when i go to TWRP Recovery it show me all my files.
So the problem is i cant see them files on my phone.
When i boot up there always come the error message Process system isnt responding.
I just press "ok". What can i do to fix it ?
I cant download pictures or music anymore on my phone.
I cant use someapps like snapchat anymore...
I hope you guys can help me.
Ps : sorry for my very bad english

OMG Thank you. It worked !

App crash, Process System Message after flash = Go Back & Restore.
Dont ignore and proceed after getting 'process system is not responding' -- press OK & flash your backup as there is a problem, there should be no error like this. I found flashing kernel with Odin3.6.10 was more successful a process. It can also be an issue with the recovery rather than the kernel file.

nandroid will not restore

Hi all
I have flashed DamageTrev ROM.
It is going great... NOW
But I had to do a lot of flashing to fix my PRI issue..
I found out I could not restore any of my past nandroid backups!
In the recovery bootscreen .. I can start the restoring but then it would error out very quickly .
I will need to have faith in nandroid if I want to do more flashing!
Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix ?

sounds like bad sd card or it is going bad. take everything off of it, partition it, then put it back see if that works
Ive had this happen to but it usually says to type something in console instead and it usually works for me....try again and see if it gives you the console command...if not then its prob what the above said.

What does the error say? Does it mention running nandroid-mobile.sh from ADB? If that is the case you can still restore the backups. This happened to me and I just had to do it once from ADB and then it worked from recovery again.
Whenever mine does that, I plug in the USB cable and just try to restore one more time, and it works. Kind of odd...
When this has happened to me, I've take all the back ups out of my nandroid folder and left them on the computer leaving only the one I want to restore

[Q] Stuck in recovery bootloop

Okay so I have the sprint LG G2 and was being an idiot messing around with the hidden menu and I selected an option fota update test or something and my device rebooted. Now it only reboots into recovery mode. I have TWRP 2.6.3.2. It tells me that it cannot find my backup. The Log file says E:storage partition //twrp/backups not found. I dont know what to do. Ive tried flashing roms, but it just reboots back into recovery every time even when I tell it to reboot bootloader. Any Ideas?
It's fixed! I used the Lg flash tool with the sprint .tot file and she is alive! Thanks all of you I appreciate it.

*sigh*...why do ppl that dont know what the heck they are doing still tinker with the settings? Just don't access the hidden menu and flip switches thinking it will have zero effect.

Okay i'm asking for help thats all. I know what I did was stupid. I'm trying to sideload the stock rom but it keeps getting stuck at 84%. The problem I think, is the boot partition is all messed up.

This is what you need to do.Dont worry nothing is messed up,the phone will be back after this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
I did the second option since i find it easier to do.
you can simply use TWRP's awesome "terminal command" option to run the following:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota

Hey thanks for responding. I tried doing that just now and it still keeps rebooting in recovery. I did the first option though. I cant find where to enter commands on TWRP. It just tells me to pick a folder.
Can anybody help? I'm pretty desperate here. I just dont know why twrp deleted my backup. I had one on there that I used all the time and now it says it cant find it. It just keeps rebooting into recovery mode.

I just tried that same result . Every time I reboot it goes back into recovery its stuck in a recovery bootloop.
If you typed it properly and it doesnt work, then i dont know...I have done what you did before to try it out, since i knew how to fix it.And it worked just fine.

are you on sprint? Thats what im on. I tried that method, but got stuck on this part: 4) Now unplug your phone, power off and then go back into download mode again, volUp+USB. It should immediately connect and start flashing.
When I would go to unplug it and reboot into download mode it just wouldn't do anything the app would just say ready.
I somehow got my nandroid back but when Its done flashing it just reboots back into recovery. I dont know whats going on.
Man this is so frustrating. Ive tried all these things and it still only boots recovery even after flashing my nandroid I made awhile back. Im stuck and dont know what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Are you sure that you did the 2nd method properly?Try once more and double check what you type. Why this worked for me when i did the same but it doesnt work for you..Nothing much you can do atm either that,or download a kdz rom and try to upgrade with flashtool.
Thanks for trying to help me out. I got it fixed by using the lg flash tool. I feel like such an idiot. Ive been coming around these forums for awhile I just never registered. I consider myself pretty good with tech but im self taught so their is alot of trial and error and noob mistakes. +1

Ah thats not good,i suppose you dont have a Nandroid either? i suggest you do a nandroid backup right now, format data & cache and try rebooting. If it still doesnt work , your /System partition may be corrupt. best to go with the above mentioned post by klebengan which would return you back to stock.
Mind you, in both cases you would lose your data. so do a nandroid right now, atleast wou would have a chance to extract important data later once you are up and running again.
BTW, This is the wrong place for this thread, it should be in Q & A and i m pretty sure there would be similar or related posts

ok, thanks for the tip but I tried to even follow the Klebengan post but the main problem is that I am not even able to go to the download mode with the volume key up and Plugin in the usb cable.
I have the flash tool and the kdz file but as i said I am not able to go to the download mode so I am not able to use the LG flash tool also.
If somebody can help me with the steps of transfering the zip file in to the phone memory I can atleast try to install the custom rom once the phone goes on and starts than I may try to flash with the kdz file.
pls help

[Q] "com.google.process.gapps message wont dissapear

Hi everyone! I recently decided to install the 4.4.2 rom on my Galaxy Note 3 N9005 and I didn't like it because it obviously was buggy as ,entioned in the thread. So I wanted to go back to my nandroid backup which I had made before installing the rom. It all went right in CWM and no errors, so I rebooted my phone and got stuck at the glowing samsung logo, so after many fixes and things I tried which didn't work I flashed a pre-rooted stock rom for it and it all went well. I managed to restore to my nandroid finally and then I unlock my phone to find a "com.google.process.gapps has been stopped" message which wont go away when I tap "OK". It just comes back and gives me one second untill it comes back again. I really need help since I need my phone for work, I have tried reinstalling all the gapps, wont work, I have tried reflashing the stock rom and restoring my nandroid again, I have tried deactivating "Downloads" in the app manager but that wont fix it either and finally I have tried clearing the "app data" for all my apps but again, no luck. If anyone would be able to help me I would appriciate it very much. Thanks in advance!
You're probably gonna have to go back to complete stock. Grab your stock image and flash via odin, boot it up and see if it gives you the error without installing custom recovery and your backup. That way you'll know where the error lays.

Forgot to mention but when I return to complete stock there isn't such a message, only when I restore to my nandroid. I also tried restoring from an older backup which I had made like 2 months ago and the same problem remains, "com.google" message is still there. Any suggestions or should I just start over?

A nandroid backup is simple but monolithic. Most people also use Titanium Backup for the ability to restore selective stuff, or to restore to a completely different model of phone.
I had same issue
Bith titanium and nandroid restore.
Well only way to save your self. Completing wizard of first startup with feeling google..
And just restore user apps and data with titanium except google stuff..
This is the only healthy restore method so far i know that gapss.com keeps kool

So I somehow managed to go to settings and disable Play Services with the one second time line that I had before the message appears again, and the message stopped. So it must be something with Play Services. Since i'm new to android (and the Note 3 is my first android phone) I want to ask if there is a way to maybe reinstall Plaay Services?

Hi, there! I just got almost the same issue like you. Once update to custom 4.4.2, any nandroid backups which worked right before getting GAPPS' FC constantly. :crying: Try double wipes, flash 4.3 gapps full package, stop&restart android download, uninstall google play store update, etc. nothing can fix it. Only way stop the popup error, is flash stock rom. But, consequently, lose root access, even with the same method that rooted the stock rom before. I'll heard some guy said the 4.4.2 has different partition from 4.3 or older android rom. But don't mention how to restore the old partition way. So, hope anyone can help us out, thanks a lot.

HELP!! I am stuck inside of TWRP and cannot boot into the system

Hey everyone, I have a really frustrating problem, I am currently able to boot into TWRP via hardware method and ADB can see my device as well. However I have tried to install a stock system image through TWRP and I have also tried to install another TWRP backup that a user had posted in the Q&A forum. At one time I was able to successfully boot into the system but my device said encryption unsuccessful. After wiping the system partition and trying to install these images through TWRP I am still unable to boot into the system. Whenever I install them my phone will reboot into TWRP. I am at a loss as to what to do. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would appreciate it.

I saw your other post in the other thread, but couldn't reply for some reason.. did you wipe the internal storage before restore?
Yes I did wipe the internal storage, I actually wiped everything the first time I tried to get everything in order and that was my original problem by wiping the system. I didn't realize that wiping internal storage would cause issues but that could have been one of the culprits. I think what finally solved my issue is I installed a deodexed rom and then powered down my device instead of rebooting and it booted up the rom. I had to flash SuperSU from a zip because for some reason the one that was preinstalled with that rom didn't install properly. So I installed the SuperSU zip and I am now officially rooted. Lesson learned DON'T WIPE SYSTEM OR INTERNAL STORAGE lol. I should have known better I have been rooting for awhile now, I just wasn't paying attention it happens to the best of us sometimes. Thanks for your help.

I used the deodexed ROM that is in the development forum. If I can upload it here I will if not just download it put it on your SD card and flash it. It may take a couple tries though I would suggest powering down your phone instead of rebooting it. Then turn it on and it should boot into the new rom. It's basically the same stock rom that our phone comes with. You may have to flash Chainfires SUPERSU zip that's in one of the threads. These steps should get you up and running again. Also if you can see your internal storage you're not encrypted. Hopefully that works for you. Let me know how it goes.
I wasnt able to upload the file from my phone. Just download it from here.

Flashing the rom helped me out. It's a system image file. It's basically the stock rom for our device just deodexed. What exactly happened what did you wipe after your phone booted into
TWRP? If you still have TWRP you're not bricked. If you can flash that image from the thread I copied above then you should be good. You may have to flash SUPERSU to get root back. Also after you flash make sure you're not encrypted if you can see your internal storage partition then you're not encrypted.

when I flashed the rom from your link above it just booted me into twrp again . I don't know what exactly I'm suppose to wipe. When you flashed the rom did you power the phone down and then try to boot into the rom? That's what I did and it worked for me. So don't select reboot into system, I'm not sure why it doesn't work that way. I had to power my device down and then boot into the room. Also if you can see your internal partition in TWRP then you should be good and encryption is not enabled. I know how frustrating this is. Just keep trying eventually that rom should stick.

So don't select reboot into system, I'm not sure why it doesn't work that way. I had to power my device down and then boot into the room. Also if you can see your internal partition in TWRP then you should be good and encryption is not enabled. I know how frustrating this is. Just keep trying eventually that rom should stick.

Man, I have tried everything as well and I can't seem to get pass TWRP. Has anyone found a way around this problem? I have been looking around for an answer for 2 days and nothing has worked so far, any help will be greatly appriciated.
Thank you

There a stock rom that I posted a link to a few posts back when I trying to help someone else. Download it put it on your SD card and install it. You don't need to wipe anything it will format things for you. After it installs don't reboot, power down the device and then turn it back on it should boot into the rom. That's what worked for me. I believe there was another way then what I just described it's in the same thread that I linked a few posts back. Good luck!!

Thanks for the help brother. However, it did not work for me. I flash the stock system, boot, turn device off and turn back on but I am still stock on TWRP. I will continue reading and hopefully I will find the answer soon.
thank you,:crying:

Np don't give up, I almost lost hope and then it worked for me.
Like I said there was another method that was discussed that worked for someone else. Try this thread, I know someone had the same issue that you and I had and they finally got it working.

Same. Though I am on US996. Not sure what I did, was exploring some behind the scenes stuff using 'hidden codes' but didn't change any values as I didn't know what they meant in most cases. I rebooted my phone and it went straight to TWRP (3.0.2-1) and it will not boot past TWRP. Occasionally after I've flashed something, it will boot into TWRP and the screen will be unresponsive to touch so I have to pull the battery, but then it will be fine again.
I was in your position not to long ago, I'm currently working on getting a .kdz recovery file for the H918. My progress will continue on it later when finals are over.
