I am using Samsung Note 4 SM-910G unrooted that runs with Android 6.0.1 with recent June 2016. After upgrading to 6.0.1, the network types of each operator is showing as a single name (for example : If Airtel provides 2G, 3G and 4G in my area, the Note 4 just shows as Airtel in the network search result. In Android 5.0.1, it was showing Airtel (2G), Airtel (3G), Airtel (4G) and so on). Is there any way (without rooting) to show them seperately?.

Hi.
At official 5.0 firmware search for mobile networks shows only operator name.
At Aurora Team S6 port - operator name and then network type (2g or 3g, or 4g)

Is it possible to realize in official 5.0?
I have a SGS5 (SM-G900F) downgraded to Kitkat. (4.4.2)
I can use LTE with one operator A (4G shows in statusbar, speedtest measures above 50Mbits).
I bought a sim for operator B but I cannot switch to LTE mode in Mobile Data Settings -> Mobile Networks -> Network Mode. Any option with LTE is simply not available.
I tested the sim for operator B on an iPhone 6 plus, it works just fine.
I have found some guide for secret codes and walked through it to force LTE. It works, but it does not switch to 3G automatically when I receive a call (it does this with the card of operator A)
So I know that my phone does support both operators frequency bands, I can force it to work, but I want to have the convenience of automatic switching on a phone call.
Is there a list somewhere in the software that has flags for networks to enable and disable LTE options in the menu ? Can I edit this ? Where is it ?
Will updating my Android version fix this ? ( I would really prefer to avoid this, since I use SnoopSnitch )
Operator A is: Vodafone (DE), A1 (AT)
Operator B is: HoT (AT)->MVNO for T-Mobile (AT)
I have a Lenovo K4 note and under setting LTE mode only is enabled and in Delhi Airtel 4G Band 3 and 40 are active and In Note K3 is was catching 4G network but in Note K4, only 3G Airtel connects, , when I go to manual network selection it shows Airtel 4G but it is not able to register there, signal is good in my area, what could be the issue.
Just updated my Elephone P9000 (not Lite, not US) to Android 7.0 by flashing the 20170418 ROM. To my surprise it now supports 3G on the second SIM. The options now are:
One SIM - 4G/3G/2G
Other SIM - 3G/2G (with Android 6.0 this was 2G only)
I hesitate to say SIM 1, SIM 2, because they can be swapped in software. As more countries shut down their 2G networks this feature will become important.
I am from India and was using Marshmallow on my Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 LTE model. I was able to get Reliance Jio signal and data connectivity. I upgraded to Nougat (crdroid as well as lineage) but then I could not get the data connectivity though I was getting registered through Jio. I could view the same signal levels in the status but LTE or up/down arrow stating the data connectivity not showing. And since Jio works on VOLTE, I am not able to use this at all because of no data connectivity. I am sure there must be some settings if not BUG in the nougat version for I9505 phone. Please help!!!
Have you considered checking the APN?
I have Samsung s4(gt i9505) LTE variant of s4 and is using in India with more than 4 years without any issue on one of the LTE(4G) network(Idea /airtel/vodafone) and it worked.
