HTC One called TD 101 for China Mobile, doesn't have Ultrapixel camera

Is this the version with expandable SD card storage as well?
Why would they release a different version for a different region when they want this to be 'The One'. It is the biggest worldwide release by HTC, AFAIK, so I dunno why they'd want different versions.

Well, yes, but an SD card option might have won them some more sales worldwide if these forums are to be believed.
(I don't care either way)

China often get different design / spec.
Left alone China country.

Did similar with the DNA - Why no SD card slot here in the U.S.? Really don’t make any sense at all, they create a UI and they call it “Sense” and they don’t use their own sense at all. IMO

China uses TD-CDMA, so different products.

hi, I am from Taiwan. When Butterfly first launch here, people in local forum were comparing the specs of DNA and Butterfly. Some people were saying because DNA is a carrier specify phone and suspect with low internal memory and no SD card available makes DNA user much likely to depend on cloud service which is more profitable to carrier from internet accessing.

Please help as I am not that techie so I have 3 main questions
1- I live in Israel so which has the highest specs to get to work here
2- I am confused about sound quality due to different chipsets in different version of N3, so which one will give the best sound quality
3- which version will have the biggest rom development devs
simply I want the best version of N3 with the best sound quality, best network compatibility, and biggest internal storage so please which one shall I get

S800 has best dev support.
Testing shows s800 and octa has similer sound.
Internal storage is similer

Agree with Fades post. 64GB models will be coming to certain markets as well. Mostly 32GB will be floating around for awhile.

Anyone know what the actual net internal storage available (less O/S) is on the 32GB version?
I know this may vary slightly dependent upon unlocked vs a carrier-specific model,so,any input is appreciated.

There seem to be 2 models in C500, universal one is 4 core and no DVD and cheaper. The DVD unit is 8 Core CPU and is almost double the price, I would wait for the 8 core to come up in Universal unit and then try

Sadly, they seem to have removed the volume knob (which was still present on the C300). I was looking forward to this, but now it seems like I have to look elsewhere - I won't buy a device on which I can't change the volume without looking at it.

I am a bit disappointed, the hardware is great but why don't they increase the memory to 3 or 4gb mem, a octa core uses more memory because there are more cores. And why no 32gb internal storage, every time the Android releases a new os, it grows, so there is less space for other things to store it on the 16gb storage. And does the GPS also support GLONASS and GALILEO?

I stand corrected - the DVD version has a volume knob. Can't find any details on pricing yet though.

These are the second Android 6.0 units I've seen that have Kitkat UI elements like the navbar at the top and the launcher tabs.
Makes me wonder if these are really 6.0 or if they are a hybrid of all sorts of older pieces stuck together.

In all likelihood it's some terrifying mix of Android 4.4, 5.1, and 6.0. Am currently considering buying an Ownice C500 Android 6.0 unit for a future car purchase (BMW E90 or E92). When it happens I'll create a video review and forum post. Am incredibly curious to see if the "4G LTE SIM Support" actually works with Verizon.

If they supported a Verizon sim, I would be tempted to buy one

this doesn't say anything about Verizon? just says 4G LTE, I didn't see any bands listed, unless I missed it

NFC support

This is probably a stupid question, but does anyone know of a custom ROM that does, or possibly will in the future, support NFC?

What so need of that crap?
NFC technology is just like infrared. Beside getting faster connection, it does not have that much advantage.

Android Pay for a start.

I highly doubt that a custom ROM would ever support NFC on the G4 Play - as far as I'm aware of doesn't have the hardware to support it in the first place.
I suppose if someone did a hardware mod like attaching an NFC chip and antenna to the battery cover and hooked it up through the USB port, but that's all I could come up with.

The G4 Play does have NFC... At least, mine does

Right, so I guess not all models have it... I've got an unlocked XT1607 (2GB/16GB, US) and it doesn't have it.
Found a bit more info - I guess some of the non-US versions might have it (the XT1604 comes up), but I haven't seen it at all in the one that I've got here.
That's what I get for assuming they all didn't have one since most of the hardware specs seem to be shared otherwise...

Its a little odd, really, some having it but others not. I had presumed the only differences between them were storage capacity since that's a common theme among manufacturers and their device variants.

from my understanding US doesn't have NFC, all others do. I found out when I bought mine. Sales person assured me it had NFC. Of course I went to set it up in the store and it wasn't there. Wasn't a dealbreaker for me but it would have been nice to have.

Yes, some version of G4 Play has NFC. For example my XT1604 is 16GB storage, 1 GB RAM and NFC inside. It is model for EU region.

I've seen in an app that my phone the xt1640 witch have only 2gb instead of 4 like the other variants, uses Samsung ram modules, meaning that they can be brought and used right?
Although I've heard that ram is actually part of the SoC,in this event, could one get the chip from another variant that have 4gb and use on another variant that have 2gb?.
I've read somewhere that SD600 series can handle up to either 6 or 8 gb of RAM, I not entirely sure, while 800 series up to 16gb
If the ram is embedded in the SoC so it means that there are sd617 with 6 or 8gb available, can one solder that on the phone?
If the ram is separated, can one buy larger modules and manually upgrade them?

The second one is interesting.

Theorectically, I imagine only the same series of chips would work, given the motherboard traces and layout are likely specific to the SD 617. Micro-soldering on a different SoC to the Moto G4 motherboard, therefore, is gonna be very difficult/impossible. As you mentioned, that's before you even consider the firmware needed...
