Hi, I'm planning on moving to an AOSP KitKat ROM, I haven't tried any KitKat ROMs before considering I got my phone with Lolipop. So if somebody could recommend the most stable KitKat ROM out of experience, that would be great. Thanks in advance.
I would recommend SlimKat 9. I put this rom on all of the devices I have. It never fails me. The developer team is great, they plan their SDLC very well. The functions/features included are sensible and helpful. Even their Alpha build is stable enough to be daily drive. You can find their post here:
SlimKat on XDA Forum

Hello
I am new to installation of custom ROMS. I own a Galaxy S5 900F version. I want to install a very smooth and stable ROM on my phone. Can anyone guide me of which ROM should i install? and is it safe?
For me SOKP,TeamNoctrunal, or Ownrom
i would suggest you to try them out yourself to find which is most stable for you mate, good luck. (and yes it is safe)
That's an answer that's different for everyone. I swear by CM ROMS, but my best friend says he has nothing but bad luck with them, and we have the same device.
I just wanted to know by people's experiences. because trying different will require a lot of time and data backing up restoring again and again.
Try Them out and find your best Rom.

For me, Official CyanogenMod 12.1 nightlies are great. I haven't tested anythnig else because CM works fine on my device : stable, great battery life, etc...
This is an development thread ask your question in S5 Q&A, help or troubleshooting. This is a thread for devs posting there unified mods and unified roms.
If you want AOSP you should try official CM12.1 from here:
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=klte
If you want a modded stock rom you can try _alexndr rom from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2813628
Or djb77 roms from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3138583
If you want Xposed framework on a modded stock rom you need a deodexed rom like _alexndr rom or choose djb77 rom there you can choose Xposed from the aroma installer.
I was on XtreStoLite rom but it's outdated at the moment so better to use another one. I tried also _alexandr rom and it's also very good one. Now I'm on CM12.1 and I like it very much. So I advice you to try CM12.1 and if you don't like it try djb77. And I prefer Boeffla kernel (the beta version) there is a version for CM12.1 and for TW.
Boeffla kernel for CM:

1) This is the development section, does it in any way shape or form resemble a Q&A forum? We have a separate Q&A forum for a reason, can you guess what that reason is?
2) Try some and find out. What is "best" or "most stable" type of questions are not allowed on XDA. "best" or "most stable" is subjective, nobody can answer the question except you.

No, it's not included in CM 12.1, I didn't find it.
Alliance rom v9 is very customizable http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2716535
If u want a S6 experience install sixperience v4.1

Personally i dont lic stock android so i dont like CM
CM is gud to have a better understanding about a google update early
But once samsung give their updates touchwiz is more good for me
Well, its not about just being stable, but about having stable features, and cm is not very good in that way, it is stable, but has very little features, so stock samsung rom all the way, especially now, when samsung will be releasing android 5.1.1 update very soon.
Well I think that people mainly say CM "used to be" stable, because they changed their development cycles from fixed (i.e. having RELEASE versions) to rolling (only MONTHLY). Apart from that I think its a matter of taste really.. personally I would consider most Android systems "unstable" cause you'll always get the occasional crash compared to e.g. an ubuntu LTS server.
Guys, I'm looking for a stable ROM which once flashed doesn't require any fixes, kernel optimisations, doesn't contain bugs and stuff, you know the deal.
I would like it preferably to be a GPE ROM but that isn't necessary.
Also it should have a nice battery life.
I know that this question has probably been asked before, so if you point me to a nice thread about these conditions, I would like that too

Cyanogemod Rom 12.1
If you ever want
There are 2 threads in the I9505 Android Development section for GPE roms. They are both for 5.1 GPE. 5.1 GPE is still new and there might be issues.
But you can try 5.0 GPE if the links are still available. Check out Danvdh's GPE thread.
I'm running blisspop at the moment. Head over to the unified devices thread. Its really good, not many people use it but for me battery life seems more reasonable out of the box than most. If you are looking for battery life though, try the AOSP by anteres one in the unified section. I tried it for a while, but it just didn't feel right. So I'm back on blisspop until Dan gets everything sorted out and implemented on the GPE 5.1 thread.
Hello everybody, just wanted to share my honest review of using custom ROMs on OnePlus X and below are my reviews of a few ROMs :-
1. AOSP_JDC Team: The battery backup and performance are good, and there is no lag. The ROM is stable and fluid.
2. AOSP Oreo 8.1: As usual the performance is good, battery backup is ok and there is no lag.
3. Lineage OS 15.1: Seriously I had a very bad experience with this ROM. When I flashed it there were no issues, the battery backup was excellent but suddenly after half an hour the message kept popping up "android.process.acore keeps stopping", I also flashed the latest build not of any use.
4. Resurrection Remix 5.8.3: This ROM is also good but for me there was Data Connection error.
Currently I'm back on Stock ROM. Its not 100% stock because I modified the stock rom by rooting and using magisk modules. I also flashed Viper4Arise_Sony_Stock_Edition to increase the sound quality.
I'm happy on my modified stock rom. Currently not planning to flash any custom rom. :good:

Hi.
what is best stable and simple custom rom for nexus 6p?
There's no best and all are stable. For fans of Pure Nexus ABC ROM seems to be the go to for Oreo. Simplicity SuperXe custom build straight from source. I prefer the modified stock SuperXe personally. Some honorable mentions Nitrogen, AquariOS, CrDroid.

I haven't tried it in some time because I just returned to my mostly trusty 6p after several months on an ill-fated adventure with a dud Xperia XZ Premium. However, Dirty Unicorns is still in development and was always one of the better ones IMHO. Particularly if you don't want to flash Viper, DU has OK sound enhancement over stock.
But, yeah, 'best' is basically the ROM you like the most for your purposes.
Almost some custom roms has very options to customize but i need simple official rom with only a few option.like official stock but improved for battery usage and performance

I'm on the latest Lineage 15 and it seems pretty solid. Has a bunch of features that should come with stock ROM but does not.
I tried Carbon ROM but had problems with lag and slowness and now I'm running ABC rom, much better and really fluid plus some nice additions . Recommended
