is there someone who succes in the installation of this app?
when i open it,it ask if i want to install the drivers and stuck and after few seconds it crash
someone can help me with this ?

I managed to get Viper4Android working this way:
First off, I use stock with systemless root and xposed so the many security features included in stock made it a bit tricky. If you use a custom rom with a custom kernel, it's likely a bit easier.
I flashed my stock image from the google website
I flashed a custom kernel and then Supersu and then the lolliviper zip from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/discussion-viper4android-t2543796
I installed busybox from the play store, opened the busybox app and let it install.
I disabled selinux enforcing using the app from this thread:

Then I ran viper4audio and installed the driver from the app
Then I rebooted into twrp and used the terminal to delete /system/etc/audioeffects.conf and rebooted.
Voila, working Viper4android.

By the way, you can run a supolicy script for media server instead of disabling selinux because that would increase security risks and don't you mean audio_effects.conf in vendor? IMO better to add v4a entries than delete it, it's there for a reason I would think

Okay so I have tried all the options on their development page on G+ but there seems to be a lot of arrogance from the devs about users with issues and not doing research even though following the instructions leads to nothing.
- Im rooted via CF's systemless root method
- I have TWRP 2.8.7.2 installed and working
- Busybox is installed in /system/xbin
- I have the correct Vendor image for my device
- Stock ROM 6.0.1
I use busy box on a rail to check its correctly installed and double check with a file explorer but still no themes will apply.
EDIT : Solved it - DON'T USE BUSYBOX ON RAILS ! for some reason it does not work with Layers correctly!
1. Uninstall any busy box installs
2. Reboot
3. Install busybox app from the play store and select /system/binx as the install location
4. Reboot
5. Profit
Anyone have any ideas to get this working ?
I'll give it a try had nothing but issues trying to use layers, currently got busybox on rails installed but as you've mentioned can't get it working, I'll try as you've suggested thanks

Thank you so much for discovering this, I was going crazy why I couldn't create the overlay folder under vendor, this is the solution, to everyone who sees this, don't listen to whoever says busybox on rails is the way to go...
If you have supersu 2.65 and install busybox to /su/xbin then it will also work.
I have superuser 2.65 and following your instructions finally have layers working, thanks dude

For me with su 2.65 and busybox on rails, things are working. However, not as expected. Sometime even I change some overlay it won't apply. Sometime the dialer and other fonts won't be visible at all. May be I should try ur method. Thanks.

Hi,
at first im not responsible for anything that happens to your phone OK?
Fine Let's Start.
If you are on cm skip all until the cm section
Supported kernel list and known errors/bugs see second post
Step 1
- Flash full Factory Images.
- Install TWRP, remember you have to be decrypted.
Step 2
- Install Android 7 ROM by tupac4u / or any other rom / or leave stock
- Reboot //if nessesairy
Step 3
- Flash ElementalX's N Kernel.
- Flash Viper5.0_Stock.zip in Recovery / or any other viper
- Reboot.
Step 4
- Install driver.
- Open File Explorer and delete /system/vendor/etc/audio_effects.conf
- Reboot.
Step 5
- Set enforcing to permissive (You have to do it at every Reboot!).
- In Viper open Menu->FX-CompatibleMode->yes // you can try without, it may work
- Enjoy Viper.

Yes, just check driver status in viper when something is playing in the background. If it says 'processing', then it's working.

I found that it isn't working on jolla Kernel and Stock.
Did you enable viper in app itself?
Not sure, but maybe you need to enable it on order to see 'processing'..
Did the installation of driver went well?

use a file exlorer with root privileges like es or root explorer and go to /etc/init.d directory, create a file and named "08setperm" (without quotes) and add the below lines in the file and save it..
#!/system/sh
setenforce 0
And give full permission (rwxrwxrwx)
reboot and you should be good. if for some reason your init.d script doesn't launch then download and install universal init.d tool and enable it.
Nice that someone is trying to get Viper4Android to work on Nexus 5x with Android 7.0 (Nougat). Sadly it does not work, tried your way but it does not enable me to get Viper4Android to work in Spotify.
Selinux is in permissive, your viber4android package is in place, audio_effects.conf removed, Android 7 by tupac4u installed and complete factory image installation before all this. No go..
Viper4android driver status does not complain but processing is always "no".
Try some other app like play music, v4a won't work on all apps if they have their own equalizer.

For those who want to use Viper4android with Spotify change fx compatible Mode to compatible in Viper settings. Then Open Spotify and go to Settings->Equalizer that should bring up Viper. Select Force enable and close Viper and Spotify. Open up both again and Boom Viper is there.
How find Android 7 by tupac4u ??

Idk if this will work on the new version, but this zip I've attached here sets the previous ElementalX-N5x-1.17 kernel permissive permanently. I'm not on nougat yet, waiting for Xposed.

As long as the zip creates/places a file in the init.d to change selinux then i guess it should work
So I've been getting lots of different questions about how to get this and that on android 7.0 nougat so to make it easier for everyone to find ill create this thread.
1. TWRP
Is twrp available for N? If so where can I find it?

2. ROOT
Oh cool now I have twrp. So how can I root?
Download phh r275 version and flash
Download and install Material phh apk: Release post
Now you should be good to go. If any issues feel free to ask here or in phh official thread.
3. BUSYBOX
User friendly zip flash this and the below steps isn't needed!

This one is a bit tricky. If you run root. But
Download jrummy's busybox on Gplay.
Select installation folder to /system/xbin or if u don't want to touch system folder use /sbin if available. U can replace jrummy''s busybox with stericsson version if you like it better. But you must have installed jrummys version first if you're booted into android. Else stericsson busybox might have issues installing. Or u can use zips which contains busybox Google busybox flashable.
4. VIPER
More user friendly if using this zip the below steps should only need se Linux mode changer!

Is quite a mess to get working. You need se Linux mode set to permissive. Flash guitarheroes version of v4a (2.5.0.5) once flashed you need to replace the audio effects in /vendor/etc/audio_effects else you'll get I/O driver installation failed. Copy the .so files to /system/lib and /system/lib64 and set correct permission. If you have wrong busybox message. Try different versions of busybox but I use latest from stericsson and it works great. Hope u get it working.
Oh and don't forget to allow sd storage access or you'll get driver I/O error as well. And se Linux changed to permissive use se Linux mode changer for it. It works great with phh!
5. MAGISK
As it seems to be now. Magisk won't work due to loop issues on boot. And mount seems to have losetup fail 1 on mounting a .img while booted.
6. Xposed
Not yet available. Be patient rovo needs time we can wait for him
7. comes soon.

I wanted to install Viper4android on stock 7.0 march but was unable to do so after following 2-3 different methods. Is there anyone successfully using viper4android on stock? And if not successful them suggest any other sound mod fully working and compatible with stock 7.0 march. I am rooted, elementalX 1.04 + busybox also installed :silly:

selinux can be "enforcing" which is more secure or "permissive" which is less secure. V4A does require permissive kernel generally.

I've got ARISE running on my device (NPJS25.93-14.4, ElementalX, magisk v13). Note, I'm just running the core modules, any other addons I do not know if you need to tweak further. I have not changed ElementalX's SE Linux permissions, and running 'su getenforce' in a terminal returns as 'enforcing'.
My setup: XT1642, updated to NPJS25.93-14.4, ElementalX, magisk v12/v13 (think if you have SuperSU, should be okay too).
1) Downloaded ARISE Magnum Opus from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/r-s-e-sound-systems-auditory-research-t3379709 (I currently have the 05/06 build). The download link is the Magnum Opus TM. Also, as I'm using magisk, I downloaded the magisk compatibility module. https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...y-research-t3379709/post71569390#post71569390
2) To configure ARISE before flashing, I extracted arise_customize.prop to /sdcard, and configured install.core to = true, install.v4a_2.5.0.5= to be true (and later found out I needed delete.deep_buffer to = true). Saved the ARISE customise file (I've uploaded my prop file if you want to see my modifications. If you wish to use this file, delete the .txt in the file name so the extension is .prop).
3)Rebooted to TWRP. Backed up. Flashed ARISE Magnum Opus - as configured, it should flash the 2.5.0.5 core module and delete the deep buffer (without deleting deep buffer, I found that ARISE did not process output).
3a)After ARISE, flashed the magisk compatibility module (if you're on SuperSU, you may not have to flash this). With magisk v13, this does not trigger Safety Net.
4)Wipe cache/Dalvik and reboot.
5)As I'm using Poweramp, I had to go to Poweramp Settings > Audio > Advanced Tweaks and disable Direct Volume Control. Also, I disabled the main Equalizer.
Now, ARISE processes headphone output as per the ARISE settings.

I used the contents of the ZIP posted by quinny899 (for step 9, below) in post #8 on that thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74681544&postcount=8
The steps I took were:
1. Clean install of the Android 8.1 full factory images (with the -w option removed from the flash-all.bat file)
2. Completed the initial set up, then got rid of the lockscreen PIN (so that I wouldn't have decryption issues with TWRP in the next steps)
3. Put phone into fastboot, then booted into the TWRP 3.2 image
4. Installed Magisk (version 14.1456 beta)
5. Rebooted
6. Installed Buysbox for Magisk, and downloaded (did not install) the Vipe4Android Magisk module by ShadySquirrel
7. Extracted the Viper4Android.apk from the Magisk module that I downloaded
8. Rebooted
9. Copied the contents of quinny89's zip file into root/Magisk (using SolidExplorer, after granting it root privileges)
10. Rebooted. Now, Magisk thinks it has Viper installed (but it doesn't, yet!)
11. Install the Viper4Android.apk that I extracted in Step 7, as a normal user app
12. Reboot
13. In Viper4Android, put it in Compatibility mode, enable Developer mode, and disable seLinux (or use some other method to set seLinux to permissive, I suppose)
14. Reboot, and Viper is working for phone speakers, and Bluetooth, tested with Spotify and Poweramp. Convolvers, and all

Strangest thing. The one that the manager downloads doesn't work. But I found another link in I believe it was the xl thread and after flashing it when I start playing music I get a viper has stopped error but u can hear it processing

Weird, indeed! Glad you got it working though!
I couldn't get it working using the apk from the magisk viper 14+, but using the apk from v4afx_v2.2.zip worked perfect.

Did any of you have to use a Magisk SELinux Permissive Script to get Viper to work?
If i disable the script in Magisk, Viper doesnt, work but if the script is enabled, it works.

Magisk SElinux Permissive Script v1.1 by jman420
ViPER4Android FX v2.5 (2.3.4.0) by ahrion, zackptg5
I'm using the permissive script. Permissive is required for viper.
