Hi friends,
It is said:"Care and share that's a lovely pair!"
I want to share with you the way I find to be the easiest and safest way to update to 6.0.x and also to side-load any other version. I use it all the time and it works great.
I use the tool below which has official support for our device. It's WinDroid Toolkit v3.1. Check it out and report back here.
Don't forget to hit the thanks button of the developer of this awesome tool. All credits go to the owner of this tool.
You can use this tool to Unlock | Root | Flash | Install.
Here is the link to the original thread where you will find the download link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2499926
Enjoy!

You are very welcome my friend. I am glad it works for you.
So, I have been reading for hours now how to return my phone (Z00A, TWRP 3.0, XOSP 6.1) back to it's stock, unlocked, recovery and system and I cannot find a concise way to do this. Trying to do so to take the eventual official 6.0 release.
I have this and ASUS Flash Tool downloaded, but I can't seem to figure out where to go next. I am NOT new to flashing ROMs on Android, but returning to stock has me stumped. Can someone point me to a guide to do this?

Did anyone tried to root Marshmallow with that tool yet ?
That thread had no information about returning my phone back to stock, but thanks for trying to help.

1. Download the stock firmware 2.20.40.184 from asus website.
2. Download Stock recovery image.
3. Go to Twrp wipe everything and flash the stock firmware.
4. Boot into Stock rom and setup everything.
5. Boot again into twrp and flash the stock recovery image.
6. Now boot into stock rom.
Hurray! You are completely stock now. Sadly, you cannot relock your bootloader until you update to Marshmallow.

Are you sure I can flash a stock ROM through TWRP? I've never heard of this and I can't seem to find anything else to confirm this. Also, it seems every link on Google for stock recoveries are dead, so I guess I can't return to stock. That sucks.

No, you can´t.
1- Download the recovery for your phone in this link according to version (for ze551ml, the last is .184) https://mega.nz/#F!k4MHiAgL!dVuOKeH3eokcwPSNI79ffw!xwc0BJrY
2- Download latest firmware zip for your phone: https://www.asus.com/support/Download/39/1/0/13/Lk0Sg1Ulh0Ph49Hl/32/
3- Download and stall adb
4- Boot into bootloader and flash recovery via ADB prompt (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img)
5- In bootloader, select "reboot to recovery", then "apply update from adb"
6- In adb prompt enter "adb sideload <enter filename.zip>"
After that, you are in stock.

hello,
My device: tf101
running: Android Revolution HD-EeePad v3.0.0 (root)
I have these following issue in my tf101 :
1) after my install the custom rom the device auto boot in to Clockworkmod Recovery not in to the rom ( so i always press power button and - button and select the android logo to boot)
2) when i left device is auto shut down.
4) I can't update the Clockworkmod Recovery 3.1.0.1 (R3-240511-1908) to the new one.
I like to flash to last stock update and root device.
sorry of all these mess,
I have never done this, but I am sure you can use software on your PC to do a nandroid restore to full stock honeycomb. Then once you are stock use one of the root methods to reattain root and then upgrade to a ICS Rom. Research the development forum.
Can you nvflash?
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium HD app
If you want to flash to completely stock, unrooted, just go to the ASUS Support site, download the firmware you want (ICS or HC 8.6.5.21). Unzip the file 1 time (it will still be a .zip) and put it on a microSD.
Go to CWM, install zip from card, choose the update.
It will overwrite CWM and go back to stock recovery, unrooted stock ICS or HC.
I saw GoodIntentions has a post around here somewhere with that info in it.
EDIT: Found it - [UNROOT]The easiest unrooting method

You have a very odd problem. I've never seen this problem before. They should all work.
The only other suggestion I can give is try installing the stock recovery, use it to flash in the stock honeycomb build, and upgrade to ICS from there.
Just follow the following instruction.
(1) Download the stock recovery and the honeycomb build from asus website.
stock recovery
(2) Flash stock recovery in with your CWM.
(3) Unzip the honeycomb firmware from asus ONCE and change the name of the zip you find inside to "EP101_SDUPDATE.zip"
(4) Restart the TF system. The firmware should install automatically with the stock recovery.
If it doesn't, tell me and we'll try something else.

The problem is most likely with your CWM Recovery version 3.1.0.1
Replace it with this recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1446019 and try flashing the stock Asus ICS rom again.

I will venture a guess that you are on CWM 5.5.0.4 installed using RomManager.
If so, you are experiencing a well established problem with a fairly easy solution.
Look at this thread and ask for help, if needed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1530337
By the way, installing a stock recovery is almost always a bad option. Don't do that.
Good luck.

This is not his problem. He clearly states he's on another CWM.
He's got some other weird problem... either that or he doesn't know how to do these things correctly. We're giving him advice assuming he knows how to do certain things correctly.
The op's problem is very similar to this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1549062 which has been resolved.

You are right, I may have misinterpreted the OP.
Still, I think the solution is the same.
When the device boots into recovery and can be cold-booted into ROM, the most likely culprit is the 'boot-recovery' flag which is set in the /misc partition. When the system sees that upon boot, it goes straight into recovery.
It should be the recovery's job to blank out that flag at some point, but CWM 5.5.0.4 (and, perhaps this recovery the OP is using) does not do this.
So, the solution is to reset it with the 'echo ...' command (or blanking out the first few bytes of /dev/block/mmcblk0p3) in shell.
My suggestion is very conservative.
I'll gave try and let u know
when i connect to the computer nothing shows up
even the Asus sync don't found it
I'll gave try on Linux

Installing custom recovery on K3 Note using SP Flash Tool
(COMPLETE TUTORIAL)
NOTE:
This post helps you if you need to:
1. Fix a bricked device
2. Install custom recovery to install custom rom later
3. Make your device bricked (if you do not follow this post correctly)
You will find the necessary files related to this post in the attachments
First, get your PC ready:
Download and Install "LenovoUsbDriver_v1.1.13.exe", then Restart pc.
Download and extract "SP_Flash_Tool" zip (I used v5.1820_Win, but you may try latest versions)
Link to download : https://spflashtools.com/category/windows
Open SP Flash Tool (Double click on flash_tool.exe from inside the SP Flash Tool folder)
Go to Options > Option... > Download > Tick "DA DL All with Checksum" > Close the options box
Close SP Flash Tool
Now, the flashing part:
Download and Extract "TWRP_v3.0.0-3_for_SP_Flash_Tool.zip" *
Open SP Flash Tool, and From "Download" Tab click on "Scatter-Loading"
Browse the TWRP v3.0.0-3 folder and select the "MT6752_Android_scatter.txt" file > Ok **
Click on "Download" icon
Completely turn off your phone (BUT DO NOT REMOVE BATTERY) and connect it to PC using usb cable.
Wait till the Process completes and a "Download ok" box will appear with a green tick. Disconnect the phone from cable.
Done!
Now press and hold VolumeUp+VolumeDown+PowerButton all three buttons at one untill you see the "TWRP" logo.
The phone will boot into custom recovery you just installed.
Check this screenshot for illustrated steps:

}
* The provided folder has TWRP v3.0.0-3 recovery in it
To flash other custom recoveries (Like CWM, or other TWRP versions), follow this:
i. Rename your recovery image file to "recovery.img"
ii. Replace the "recovery.img" file inside the folder from TWRP_v3.0.0-3_for_SP_Flash_Tool.zip with your "recovery.img"
iii. Continue from Step 7
** You can also flash ROW/CUSTOM roms (which are made ready for SP FLASH TOOL) using this method. For that, Just select the scatter file inside the ROM folder (IN STEP 8)
*** REMEMBER If you have a MARSHMALLOW (Android OS 6.0) rom: Marshmallow roms need to be flashed with patched boot image for custom recoveries. Go to the index thread of k50 note for the patched boot images.
And by the way, there's a thanks button below if you find this post helpful! :highfive:

If you are rooted, you can do that. Without root this tutorial is the only way.
Only works for me when USB is plugged while holding volume up, else SP flashtool won't start and not responding.

Alright.
I had this problem for a while and I figured out how to flash the update without the need to factory reset or change the update script of the update file.

You have to be using the latest lollipop release before updating. That means you have to be on YOG7DAS2K1 before attempting.
This worked out for me. But it might not work for you. I do not believe it can destroy your phone and switch some satellites off, but still, not responsible if it did so.
Requirments:
You have to have TWRP now or you at least have ROOT and any flashing app like flashify.
Download COS 13 update file. here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995316311
Download the latest CyanogenMod Recovery https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=bacon
Download the cm-12.1-YOG7DAS2K1 full ROM [url]https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24369303960686198[/URL]
Guide:
Make sure the update cyanogen recovery option is checked in developer options.
Flash CyanogenMod Recovery downloaded before.
Reboot into it.
Use the update function in CyanogenMod Recovery and choose cm-12.1-YOG7DAS2K1 as the update file. It might take a while.
Now reboot to your phone. When booted and running, reboot to recovery.
Now you are running COS recovery. Update with the incremental.
That is it.
I hope this works out for you.

Reboot into bootloader: you can do this in many ways. A simple google search will show you how. Easiest way is to turn the phone off and hold the volume up and power long enough for the phone to boot into bootloader.
Connect your phone to your laptop
Run the adb: I assume you are using windows of course. First put the TWRP .img file in this folder. Hold shift and right click in the folder downloaded above. A 'Open command window here' option will be there. Click it and write in the window
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.0.2-0-bacon.img
. A hint: you can just write twrp and hit TAB, it will complete the filename. Or you can rename the downloaded file to just twrp.img
Check your phone, you will be running TWRP temporarily. You now have the option to ROOT only by flashing the SuperSU file downloaded on your phone. If you reboot now you will lose TWRP and get back to the official COS Recovery. If you want TWRP for good flash the TWRP file downloaded on your phone before.
I hope this is easy. It actually is. just follow it step by step.
If you could provide us the guide to root and come back to twrp I would be extremely happy

if you need a guide to root, this means you are not rooted, and if you are not rooted most probably you already have stock recovery, which means you can just install the OTA update without any issues.

Thank you, you made my life easier, but when I tried to run the twrp through fastboot I got an error and I got the solution writing "fastboot boot twrp.img" (after renaming the file).

As I stated before you have to be on COS 12.1 YOG7DAS2K1. This method should not format your phone or remove any data as there is no factory reset step.
As for the link they are all over the place now. I used the official one. I'll link it for your convenience.
can anyone please pull the stock recovery from COS 13, not 12. I kinda screwed up while updating and now stuck in bootloop.
Update: The issue is resolved. The issue was because of SuperSu 2.46. Installing the latest TWRP and SuperSu 2.66 fixed it. Marshmallow is now rooted!
Thank you very much! After going back to stock and still not receiving the update for more than a week (well at least it felt like a week, Lol) I decided to flash a full COS 13 zip floating around. Instantly liked the new ROM but it had root/symlink issues only to be resolved when flashing a custom kernel it seems. Not what I really wanted so then I stumbled onto your thread and this technique worked 100%! I was on DAS2K1 (flashed thru a custom recovery) already and had several failed attempts flashing just the incremental outright (thru stock recovery)., but by flashing DAS2K1 thru stock recovery first as you suggest then the incremental seems to do the trick.
I did it all the steps, but my phone doesn't not start. After optimizing aplications I have bootloop at "cyanogen modready".
L.E. I think the problem was one of old aplications. After a clean install everything works.
This is the best thing Oneplus one i ever experience.COS13 give my Oneplus one a new breathe of life .This update better than crap lolipop. No Bug for me until now, only google play service need to update twice in play store, its auto reboot itself twice and wholla, super speed UX.The best thing i ever have.I apply update from CM-12-0-YNG1TAS17L Build LRX22G using this method and it works flawlessly
I don't need to factory reset or wipe cache .
I flash full stock ROM cm-12.1-YOG7DAS2K1 and apply update through CyanogenMod Recovery only and nothing else.
Now my oneplus one is rooted and TWRP install using ADB and its fly.All rooted apps is working together with Adaway.
Thanks Cyanogen team for make this 2 years old flagship killer a beast .
Only thing not satisfied is gone signal and wifi status (connectivity indicator ).I need to swipe down to see my transfer data working (what a bummer ).
Thanks so much for this magical guide (y2kkingboy) Yours truly Oneplus one diehard fan.
I was already on cm-12.1-YOG7DAS2K1, however rooted. So even if I had been offered the OTA it would have failed.
Your guide got me updated, first time with no problems.
6.0.1 is such an improvement on 5.1.1, I tried a couple of other 6.0 roms, however this has by far been the most stable and bug free.
Cheers for the tutorial!

I had tried this before and it did not work for me. Kept getting an error saying "the signature file was not a complete file" and therefore it didn't flash. But it may have been editing error on my part. This method works just fine and no need to give up your data either.
Having tried many other ways, I got it done with this instruction.
Thank you!

Where is Stock Recovery for OP5T?
I wanted to know to flash original firmware/update is it required to have original recovery or can it be done with twrp.
I can remember on the oneplus one twrp was sufficient for original firmware.

So basically it is not able to install EU rom on a device with CN rom ?
im wondering why the file ends in .ozip vs .zip maybe thats why?
EDIT: I didn't realize that is a oppo specific update extension,so im not sure why it wouldnt work
maybe unlocking bootloader then flashing via recovery will work?

I would have thought this was expected? The same was the case with the X2. Unless you can fool the recovery somehow in to thinking you're on a global version I would imagine it's unlikely this method would work.
I assume flashing through TWRP with an unlocked bootloader would work but that's not going to work with this proprietary ozip.
I don't think anyone has tried a full twrp system backup and restore from a global phone to a china one though. I'm interested in how that would play out.
Ozip to zip is easy. Done.
BUT, both fastboot flashing and twrp flashing giving errors, because new (EU) system.img and vendor.img is larger than CN versions.
I can go further, try to flash EU recovery and flashing ozip rom. BUT I'm afraid if device is bricked, I don't want to wait for months hoping for a unbrick rom

ozip update is normal that means is a oppo realme update even the CN version ends with ''ozip''
But yeah can't install it in ''normal way''
is there a way to unlock the bootloader and intall twrp? I didn't see anything ''official''
Otherwise how to guys?

1. ozip decrypting
2. compatibility.zip must be delete
3. sign zip and flash (but I think recovery will flash to eu version so it may cause some problem)

Hi
I'm in the same situation as you are. Should get my X2 pro these days and am collection information about safe ways to root, because I need my phone as working phone and unfortunately can't take the risk ofbricking the phone or have an unstable installation. As far as I know for shure:
Unlocking bootloader
You need the tool "In-Dept test Tool" on your phone. Read this . You will find a download link there.
Installing TWRP
There is a pre-release version from honorable @mauronofrio. I don't know how big the risk ist to install this. I haven't read anything about people who have experience with this. For instructions read this .
Rooting
Now we are on the tricky point. I have not read anything about succesful rooting. Neither with Magisk nor with SuperSU.
If anyone has additional info or newer info please let me/us know.

Extracted EU rom to system.img + vendor.img + other partitions. BUT the system.img is 5.1GB, CN version is 4.4GB, same for vendor.img, is bigger. Now both fastboot flashing and twrp flashing are giving errors, that there is no space for flashing.
I need help, is there any way to resize those partitions ? (twrp resize does not work).
