anyone can explain how apps move to sd card works on application manager? I actually moved all the apps from device storage to sd card and it does free up space from the device manager, but I don't see the moved apps located on my external sd-card, where did it go?
if so what did it move? simply only the APK file? or data was included?

Click to collapse
It only moved apk not the data , data remains in the internal storage only
However if u are rooted u can use the foldermount app that can move the data also to Sd card
but which SD card did it move the apk files to? I thought it was to the external SD-Card, But I don't see anything moved to there when I open my external sd drive.
Hello, I'm new to the Note 4 and new to a phone with an SD card slot in general. I've found that I'm unable to move files from internal storage to the SD card. Is there a way to do this without rooting? I'm on a Verizon model on lollipop. If there is no way to do this without rooting, what is the advantage to having an SD card slot if the only thing I can put on it is pictures?
It should be fixed in Lollipop. It works for me.
Look for "com.speedsoftware.explorer" in Play Store and try again, but the default file manager should do just fine.
I need to use sd card as internal memory or let mobile used sd card obb file then internal obb file
This is a very small post as you can see..
I have observed that many of the users are having trouble while flashing most of the custom ROMs available for K3 note.
I myself was facing this problem.
After any Android KitKat update system doesn't allow the SD card to be used as default storage.
Most of the apps required permission to read write and edit files.
For example if you have encrypted any files on your SD card using ES Explorer then you cannot decrypt it unless you give it permission to write on SD card and sometimes it doesn't even ask for permission.
Well there is a simple solution to this thing.
What I did is I install Xposed installer for nogat.
And there is an Xposed module called XinternalSD which allows external SD card to be used as internal SD, basically it provides a false path to the internal SD.
Hope this helps..
can i use magisk instead of xposed?
I have installed Lineage 18.1 on my Galaxy S10+ SM-G975F (Exynos). I have a 128GB SD card that I can save files and apps to but when I connect the phone to my linux desktop I can see the SD card but no internal storage. The label on the SD card is "android" not "SD Card"
I have the Brave browser app that I have given storage permission to the SD card but when I download an app it appears to have been downloaded but it wont install.
I also have music files on the SD card but the music app cannot find them
I can download an app on my computer and then transfer it to the phone and install it but I cannot do it via the phone.
I suspect it has something to do with permissions but I am at a loss to how to fix it.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Other issues (may be related?). The music and camera app that come with Lineage do not load and the phone app cannot find my contacts .vcf card that is on the SD card.
The issue is solved as I reinstalled Lineage and now both the internal and SD storage is available!
Thanks, still a nice basic lesson.
