Hey there mate.. The sd card method is all you got.. How ever there is another method called GTAG but forget that.... And use the sd card method... Requirments are as follows :
1.bricked samsung galaxy s5
2.recovery image file for ur current android version
3. Micro sd card 16gb or 32 gb but 32gb is more reliable.....
The thing is if your phone cant find a boot sequence on the primary storage it moves to the secondary (the micro sd)
4.download win 32 disk imager to write the recovery image file to the sd and boot.. Then if it works shut down and boot to download mode and flash an official firmware of samsung android 6.0 is released for s5.. Download that from sam mobile
REMEMBER DONOT TAKE OUT THE SD CARD IN THE WHOLE PROCESS.. To putting back ur sd card as before use sd formatter... Any further questions contact me
Of course you bricked it, you flashed a G900I ROM to a G900F phone, why?
Bootloader and who knows what else will be wrong
y u do this if coming frm sm g900f dont try any version to flash into yr phone.

Remember that if it is a hardware limitation then there's nothing else software can do, like flashing a ROM other than the ones compatible for your variant. It will not enable Band 40 on your phone.

Nope, not 'identical' or they would both be called G900F
Different models have different bootloaders, at the very minimum, meaning you can never flash a 100% untouched stock ROM for a different model

Yup. Learned that the hard way. Now, I`m thinking if the Bad flash was mainly due to differences in PIT file rather than the hardware differences. So I have an evil idea of flashing a PIT file from G900I first and then trying to flash the whole firmware tar. But I`m worried i might end up with a SUPER HARD BRICK. i`ll update here if i go along with the idea. Any other senior members kindly enlighten if such an idea is possible..
I've just explained why you can't flash the stock firmware from a different model, but by all means, go ahead and brick your phone again
PIT is not going to change the bootloader

Hi. i've just hardbricked my phone.
i flashed (dirty over ota) latest cm13 nightly and during the day my g900f rebooted 5 times. then i've wiped everything and flashed latest BlissRom+pico gapps, rebooted and phone rebooted again on the welcome screen. ok. 45%percent of the battery. led does not shine. but when i connect it to pc - qhsusb_BULK.
Then i've got download mode, rebooted and my BlissPop started up. ok. then i've rebooted to TWRP 3.0.2.0 wiped everything again and turned it off. thats all. i can not boot this device anymore. led is dead. i can not boot recovery and download mode. i've pulled battery and waited 30 seconds. nothing. usb doctor tells 5,25Volts and 0.07A when it plugged to 220V. Battery=3,7V. i've tested with multimeter. that's all i can help... i'm so dissapoined for now. maybe you can tell me what to do? p.s. sorry for my English.

So I was following xBeerdroiDx guide on backing up/rooting/flashing the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4. I got right up to step 4B before I realized my PC wasn't detecting my S4 or external SD card, so I couldn't put a rom on there. I restarted and nothing will load...I'm trying to get into download mode, but it just restarts into the battery logo and shows no sign of charging. Please help.

Turn the phone off, take the battery out (maybe 30 seconds), put the battery back in, but keep the phone off. Plug the charger into the phone and let it charge for a while without turning it on (you may need to let it charge to 100%). Then, try to get into download mode, Odin the factory firmware, factory reset, and start again. That is, if it works. Good luck.

Ok, You are giving conflicting information. Try to get into recovery. Use the various button combinations to get into recovery. If you don't know them, search for them. If you can get into recovery, try to install a nandroid (if custom) or try factory restore if 3e. Again, if you can get into download mode and let ODIN do a factory install would be better. Or you can try Kies emergency restore.

If you are in TWRP, you need to either restore a nandroid backup (if you have one) or download a compatible ROM (and Kernel if necessary) and flash it. But make sure it is compatible to your device! If you don't have a ROM available on your SD Card, download one onto your PC and transfer it to your SD card (manually if needed). Once it is on your SD card, just flash through TWRP.
And always start making Nandroids before you do anything...just in case.

The thing is...I wiped before I had a rom on my internal storage or SD card...and while I was in TWRP, my pc wouldn't detect internal storage or external for me to copy it over...so I just rebooted my phone hoping that it would work...stupid mistake.
Is this right and safe to continue? I'm in download mode.

Yes. 64 GB Class10. Can you tell me if the post above is correct? I'm going to restore to stock firmware and then try the process again with the rom actually on the sd card. xD
Make sure if you use ODIN to restore that you get into recovery on the first boot and do a factory reset.

The picture you posted looks fine. As long as your phone shows in the com port, ODIN recognized it. But there is never any guarantees. Everything should go OK, but there is always risk. I can tell you that it "appears" to be ready, but you will have to click the start button and see if it goes OK. As mentioned, make sure to boot into 3e recovery after ODIN reports successful and do a factory restore or it might not boot up right. Good luck. Let us know if it goes OK.

Make a nandroid...now. :good:
It all started with the plan to root the device Samsung Galaxy Note 3
I had rooted the device using Kingo Android root. This had gone successfully. Then I tried to install some apps which needs root access. I tried an app called EFS, I though I would back up EFS and NV_ *, When I clicked on backup NV_* (cant remember the whole name), thats when the problem started. It had been 2 days since I had been trying different things to recover the device.
I went into recovery mode and tried
Clear cache
Then Back up my data and did factory reset
Between boot loops I had the opportunity to uninstalled the EFS app
Then installed twrp and tried this blog http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2471421
eventually, I thought of letting go of my data, so did the format of data
used ODIN to and flashed this ROM from this blog http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2540822
Despite all these steps I cannot get it working.
Current phone behaviour
The phone keeps booting again, once the UI of the phone starts, I get a window of 1 min before the phone restarts again. I get a message saying "Process system isn't responding"
I am willing to try anything to get the device functional, if it means to build it from scratch. This is my first time venturing into this side of the world, I would be thankful if you can guide me with the steps to perform a build from scratch, or direct me to a blog where I can do this?

Stay away from EFS back up apps, they're notoriously unreliable and can brick your device

Sounds like a dumb question but How to I upload this zip file to my phone. Note3 does not come with external SD slot and I am not able to connect the phone through PC either by Kies or ADT, none of them are recognising?
Can I upload this zip file through ODIN? it only accepts .tar or .md5 files?
Any tips?

Not flashable via Odin atm I'm afraid

You haven't flashed a stock rom... That is rooted and so is no longer a stock rom. Go to Sammobile.com to get a pure stock rom...
Just a note for you, whether it says stock is solely reliant on it being NOT tampered with. Rooting a stock rom no longer makes it stock, it is just a description that means no tweaks were applied or bloatware removed...
Remember that the bootloader must match the stock rom. If you are trying to flash a lower version rom onto an MJ3 or higher bootloader you will get bootloops.
The same applies if you have updated to Kitkat rom.
If you haven't updated to 4.4.2, then you should check this[first post]

Use This It'll fix it. - You have to install a custom recovery via Odin then flash that fix and you'll be alright, you EFS is warped is all.
I had already tried that fix, but with no luck. I flashed that fix with a lot of combinations like with fresh install of stock rom, with rooted rom etc. No luck

When you mean "install a custom recovery via Odin", you meant to install something like TWRP to install the zip using recovery mode?
The phone keeps booting again and again, once the UI of the phone starts, I get a window of 1 min before the phone restarts again. I get a message saying "Process system isn't responding" before the phone restarts.
All I did was hold Vol - and Power to get to Download Mode, but forgot to hold Home. I walked away for a minute while it booted supposedly to the Warning screen, came back and noticed the blue light was on. Went to investigate but the phone turned off before I got to see what was up.
Now the phone won't charge, won't power on, no response to plugging into computer, can't get to Download Mode or Recovery, no vibration when trying to power it on. It's a bone stock device, no root/recovery/rom. Never even got USB Debugging turned on. What the hell happened here?

Take battery out wait ten sec hold recovery buttons insert battery.. Try a few times
Stock? Custom?.. Ive seen blue light on freinds s4 usually a fail install .. Stock.
I usually just keep trying for recovery.. And usually do it after a few attempts

Yep looks like you got it into safe mode, in order to exit safe mode hold volume up and power button for 10 seconds. Good luck.
Press thanks if I helped.

Not sure, give it a shot with the 32, I'd imagine the worst that will happen is it will force the card into thinking it is only 16GB, which you should be able to reverse with a free partitioning program, by deleting and recreating the partitions once you're done

awesome sauce. any link to official 5.0/5.1 odin package? already on lollipop, cant downgrade (wont even bother trying)
Can't see one on any of the usual places, sammobile or samsung-updates
I`ll have a look around and post back if I find one, but doesn't look good if it's not on Sammobile

OK, looks like that One-Click includes ODIN - so I'd go through the debrick routine with the SDCard, then when it says to load up ODIN and flash stock, use the One-Click File

I have a hard bricked AT&T Galaxy S7 (SM-G930A). I'm trying to unbrick it by using an SD card and an unbrick image, as described here or here. However, I don't have access to a rooted Galaxy S7 of the same model. Can someone create an unbrick image I can use?
Thanks!

I don't know how it was bricked, I'm trying to fix it for a friend. It doesn't turn on at all, so I can't get it into download mode to flash the stock rom. I know it's a Qualcomm variant because I can see "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" in device manager when I plug it into my computer, so the SD card method might work.

So... I'm gonna take a guess and assume that your friend didn't really know what he was doing and flashed the first firmware he saw. (Which was probably the F firmware.) Causing it to brick. The F firmware IS NOT MEANT four our devices. Hence he broke it. Probably unrecoverable. Plus he might not have used Odin making it even worse.

Even that might not because of our locked bootloader. Friend is more than likely dicked out of his phone unless he files a for replacement or something. :/
I have a hard bricked Galaxy S7 (SM-G9300). I'm trying to unbrick need unbrick image
create a Debrick IMG :
-you need to have a rooted device
-need to install busybox
-need a terminal
-open terminal type
(su
busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/200mb.img bs=4096 count=50000)
I think this is a waste of time in this forum. All clever guys have left, just kidds remained.
They just copy others posts...
Can anyone really make an unbrick image? Is it soo difficult?
Seems everybody just cares for themselves....
Lets hope...
And just a comment, you dont need a "rooted" phone to create the image.
Insert a blank sd card on your phone, at least 32GB
Enter download mode,
Load files in ODIN
Select in options tab in Odin (T-Flash)
And flash
All flash will happen to the SD card NOT in the phone and TADA, you have a sd card where you can extarct the recovey image
Piece of cake.
Anyone help?

Did you ever get the debrick image? My S7 bricked while trying to downgrade with flashfire :/
g930a-v models same sda flash
my phone same problem bro help me
If for some reason it doesn't work, then try to create an emergency scdard from an identical model with identical firmware version as your broken one, root it by eng-boot, read out the first 1GB of the "sda" partition, write the dump to a fast class U1/U10 32GB sdcard using Win32Disk, insert the card into the sdcard slot and power it up while holding Vol Down + Home + Power. If everything was done correctly, the phone should boot into download mode, then just flash the latest full stock to fix it.
To create an emergency sdcard for Qualcomm based G930/G935:
adb shell
su
dd if=/dev/block/sda of=/storage/emulated/emergency.bin bs=1024 count=131072
exit
adb pull /storage/emulated/emergency.bin
g930a-v models same sda flash

I have a bricked S7, att variant. I used modded odin to force a lower bootloader and now it will only boot to a screen that says sbl error. I got the edl cable. What do I do now?
reviving a thread for a minute. I too was given a phone that is hard bricked. meaning that it will not be recognized by odin. however, it is recognized and i have the qualcomm drivers through my work. so i have access to qpst and qfil. the downside is that i cannot find a full copy of the software.
qpst requires both phone image and boot image in .hex format,
and qfil gives me a bit more playing area such as elf type and the xml files, or i can extract the files needed if i have the FFU.
my problem is the only versions of the software that i keep finding are for odin. so my request is, i have a couple of different software versions for the g930a, can someone extract the hex files, or convert to FFU? that's the part i'm getting stuck in. lots of tutorials on how to extract to convert to md5 for odin, or how to extract if you have a rooted g930a, but i don't have access to that.
Hello everyone,
Sadly I've been stupid enough to flash Chainfire root trough Odin without enabling the "OEM Unlock" setting in android.
The phone is now stuck at the boot logo. Is there any way to get it to boot again? Or obtain the data that is on the phone?
It is an S7 Edge SM-G935F hero2lte
I was thinking to flash TWRP and create a backup, but I've got no idea if this is possible.
Luckily most of the pictures are on a External SD.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks for reading.

Download offical firmware from sammobile and flash it with Odin
Boot in download mode and flash official stock firmware...
Try flashing stock official firmware with HOME_CSC instead of CSC file so that it doesn't wipe your phone.
TWRP backup method will not work here since it also require OEM unlock and it must format /data once to remove encryption, so that it can read the partition which defeat the purpose since your current data are gone from the format.

No.
It will ask you for phone model and serial number.
Read them from the back of the phone.
Install kies, run the program, put your phone to download mode and connect to pc.
In the upper section there must be a tab where you find "emergency firmware download and install" or something like that.
This is where you will be ask for model and serial number and the restauration begins.
If you want a clean install with all the data wiped, there a custom recovery will be handy from where you format everything and after that you will use kies.
Good luck

There are 2 versions of kies, one for older devices until galaxy s4, and one for newer devices.
I can't remember wich one is, but the app warns you if you didn't install the correct version
I have to mention, the firmware on the phone is the UK one instead of the Dutch one. I did this back then to get the 7.0 update earlier.
Will the Kies method still be possible?

Thanks for your help. but: Stock my S7 comes with PHN firmware ( Which is dutch ) but recently I've downloaded the BTU firmware. ( UK Unbranded ) in order to receive the 7.0 update earlier. So, : I downloaded the latest BTU Firmware for the S7 edge.
It comes with 5 files.

The emergency option isn't available somehow. It shows "Lists of devices requiring emergency recovery" , but the list is empty.
When i choose the firmware upgrade option, I indeed have to enter my model name + Serial number, but the message states that data WILL be wiped.
@Lurninn
Here... my bad Take a closer look
This is what i used and on my device it didn't wipe data.
I don't know if it is available for you too but i did it a couple of times when i really messed up my phones and each time my photos and videos weren't deleted.
No matter what firmware you are on right now, kies will download the latest one corresponding to your device and the country it was released for.

The thing is, my phone originally is a PHN (Dutch) Phone, however, I flashed BTU (UK) Firmware on my phone.
And btw, Could it be that your pictures were on an external SD card? because using this recovery doesn't touch the external SD. I'm still not convinced that this will keep internal data untouched. ;(
The method of flashing HOME CSC seems the most safe/logical to me at this moment.

I did it on my s6edge wich doesn't have a external SDcard support only via otg.
Regarding the firmware, i told you that kies doesn't care about that becauce it will read your original trace of csc and will download the coresponding firware ( if the original firmware was Dutch it will download Dutch firmware )
I don't tell you to use my method and i don't guarantee you that this is 100% safe for what you want, but i'm telling you that i used this method and for me it worked even on non-external SDcard phones with no data loss except the third party apps.
Analize all advices you got here and chose a method.
I' m really curious. Don't forget to post the result.

Most of my pictures are on the SD-Card, It are mostly the 3'rth party apps that I was worrying about.
BUT: I've followed NonXtreme's method, and I SUCCEED!!!
I downloaded latest BTU Firmware from Sammobile, and flashed all 4 files (and CSC_Home) trough Odin.
At first I was kinda worried because after flashing the phone booted with "Erasing" in screen. The phone successfully booted, and remained just like I left it.
You might want to try this method next time artaniss11k if you want to keep your apps & settings.
Thanks guys for your help/suggestions.
