T-Mobile says Note 4 MM released - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 General

Here's the answer I just got on Twitter, copied below.

Hey there Steven! I completely understand where you're coming from there, because the Marshmallow update hugely improves android phones! Believe it or not, the Android 6.0 has already started rolling out to customers with the Note 4! The thing I've noticed though so far is that there is no way to force the update onto the phone. I do suggest following the update document for your Note 4, and follow the portion for updating via Samsung Smart Switch on a PC. I've personally seen a few people able to update to Android 6.0 on the Note 4 by doing this, but in some situations we do have to wait for the update to push out in an OTA update (over the air update). Here's a link for how to update your phone in multiple ways: http://t-mo.co/1Brc5CC and here's the phone list of phones currently pushing out the Android 6.0 update: http://t-mo.co/17OlLdK If you have any questions let me know! *KennethD

I am so sorry to report that I got a message from T-mobile on twitter that recanted the whole thing. I was so convinced because of the original messages specificity about the guy seeing the note 4 having MM applied to it. ARGH! I hate being the source of this.... admin, can you pull this thread?

I saw the tweet from Samsung about it being officially rolled out for the Vibrant... but does that mean T-Mobile has already started rolling it out?
Is there a changelog for JI6?

Good post rhcp. So many people installed the OTA but no one willing to share the build? come on people
Someone who has installed the OTA JI6.
Please post your build.prop from /system/ so we know if the leak is diff from the OTA.
Very simple to do.
Code:
adb pull /system/build.prop
Then post it here. or on paste bin.
Thanks!

Thats great info you posted. But, it does not tell us if the leak we all installed/running roms off of is the REAL JI6 or its just a PRE-leak version with the bugs still there.
Hence, why i want a build.prop so we can compare build dates.

So, you're telling me out of all the members on this forum.
I saw at least 10+ people say they got the OTA upgrade. Not one person can post a build.prop so we can all know if we are running the real or something broken?

does anyone else hate it when they put lines like "...over 40 bug fixes and UI updates". i'd kinda like to see the specifics. just a quirk of mine.

its just like when JI5 was leaked. It took 78 pages just for someone to post the temp file that KIES downloaded
I am starting to wonder if this update is the same build as the leaked JI6. There are 2 apps that I can't find in the market but I can see them stock. I can see them on Appbrain but when I go to install it the phone just says download unsuccessful. Same thing happened on JI5.
One app is Fandango Movies. Can someone with the official OTA check and see if you can see it in the market?
Thanks.
Yea i also went all stock this morning and waiting.
Another thing with leaked JI6 is 5.1 was broken

Nothing at all about dk28
no more GPS?
I don't see anything at all on my Sprint page about this update or even anything specific to the version of software on my phone.
I installed this update earlier today and the GPS on my phone no longer works. It worked before and I never noticed any problems or delays that others reported. I've tried wiping the data and cache numerous times and even re-installing the upgrade but nothing seems to work.
Does anyone have any other suggestions on what I might try? At this point I question whether or not this is the same update we'll receive OTA...
Thanks,
Scott

So you think Sprint's plan is to push this update to everyone OTA and then have all the end-users install Odin and fix it? Even while denying that there is such a release? Hilarious!
This is not an official rollout. It is a leak. Those who install it, and are comfortable with some level of hacking, may proceed at their own risk, as usual.
But no one should believe this is an official release from Sprint.

Is it actually worthwhile to update from dk17 to dk29? I'm not really having any issues on dk17. Might just wait to confirm its final before going through the reinstall process.

Um.. That makes no since..
He had to odin BACK to di18 because he installed a leak..
the official is based off the knowledge of the user never hacking the phone and leaving it stock.
Therefore; no the average user will not need to use odin.. infact won't even know about it.
But those who have come to xda WILL need to odin back to stock di18 in order for the official Froyo to work when it is launched.

Suppose you got an update OTA. Wouldn't you consider it official?
If you have followed the original thread (which has been closed), the update happened OTA to a non-Sprint person. That is why many people claim it's official.
Why would Samsung release DK28 as official Froyo full of bugs when their Eclair builds were flawless? It doesn't make any sense. I sure wish people would stop saying that this is the official release and confusing new people. This is NOT the official release. There is NO evidence for that. Its NOT a finished product at this point.

UGH. How many times does this need to be explained? He had a .4 hardware revision. .4 hardware revisions are for TESTERS. He received the update OTA because SOMEHOW he got ahold of a hardware revision that only TESTERS should have. This has all been discussed a thousand times.
Also, if this WAS the official release it would be a disaster for sprint.

Just downloaded a 112mb update

Was hopeful that it was lollipop, but it's not.
Pretty sure lollipop will be a much bigger download since it's a major overhaul.
Cool story welcome to NK2 aka last week
Since I just got my new GN2 on Tuesday, the OTA update I received looks like it took me from version NIE to NK2. I have since rooted using CFAutoroot.
lollipop won't be until February and it will be version 5.0.1, I think samsung doesn't want to take 5.0 because some of the problems it has.

Yes, US has been the very last region to update both times, so far, and I expect it will be again this time, too. The second update didn't take long at all to get to every US user, though, once the US update pushed. By the time I got my notification everyone else already had it and the update URL was all but pointless. I'm not really all that concerned with getting this one, but man I hope that 6.0 update hits every region fast. We're building a larger user base now, though, so maybe we'll get lucky and XDA members from each region will be among the early people to get the push notification.

Hi everybody.
Do anybody know when Verizon Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Nougat update and reason to delay?
I cannot make sense ever major provider(such as AT&T,Tmobile,Sprint) is updated but Not Verizon.
Thanks.
I wouldn't be surprised if Verizon didn't get the update until after the announcement/release of the S8.

Yep. It's really disappointing.
Why? Because f**k us, that's why!
Likely just an issue of them taking their sweet-assed time putting their bloatware applications into the firmware, and I'm sure they've been extra slow after the official 7.0 worldwide rollout started and was halted for a whole like 2-3 days after a couple of bugs surfaced.
I always get a new phone by the time Verizon gives me an update. I know someone that got nougat on his T-Mobile GS7 Edge and someone that got her GS7 update last night on Sprint.

I don't think it's related to Verizon bloat considering the turbo 2 is getting the update now. I'm really annoyed that one of the top selling, highest rated phones of the year is taking this long to update.

This! Get it together verizon, every other S7 is getting the update why aren't we? Kinda furstrating and makes me want to leave verizon or starting purchasing unlocked models so I can root them and get updates on a regular basis instead of waiting for Verizon to release an official.
Le Sigh
Verizon has always been one of the last (if not the last) to roll out updates.

That beta was unbearable. Constantly had issues with text messages on it for some reason. They would keep failing to send and I would miss messages from people as well. Very annoying.
