Hello there!
I am in the market for a new tablet, and am considering buying a 2 7" and have some questions.
How does the IR blaster work? Does it receive on all tv's?
What is the deal with the 30 pin connector, would one of apple's (boo!) chargers work for the device?
Overall how is the service with Samsung? Any horror stories?
and finally, what case do you have on the device, do I need one (how tough is it)?
Thanks so much,
dan123abc.
IR blaster is pretty cool, probably a fad that will be forgotten soon though. My tv is pretty old, pre hdmi, and it still turns it on at least.
There's a Samsung made case case that has tab 2 written on, I like it.

Works for iphone. Think the galaxy note 3's cameras could pull this off?

thanks man...
all what you need is that small lens from an old leser pointer to explore a new world
thanks

I see no reason why it shouldn't work. The guy in the video always talks about smartphones in general, not about the iphone.
This should be much like using glasses to allow a farsighted (longsighted) person to focus on near objects.
If you put your Note 3 on his magnifying desk, you find that's work for every phone.
Does anyone have a solution for ir blaster for Grand?
Nope actually I don't think there might be something like that because its a hardware stuff... You can get it by adding a infrared bulb and asking developers to make some software for it.. You can add the bulb with the ear phone. ... Then you can plug it into ear phone jack... Developers must develop some app to convert ear phone sounds at various frequencies to make the blaster work.

Hi, as I stated on the title, I would like to discuss about the Note 4 Fingerprint Sensor and if we can replace it with S6 Fingerprint Sensor. Initially, I have 2 concerns, which are software and hardware incompatibilities.
A few weeks back, I flash my Note 3 with Darklord S6 port ROM. When I was setting the device up, it promoted me to set up the finger print scanner like the way the S6 asks, so I thought if we port the S6 ROM to the Note 4 it will change the way the sensor works and I no longer need to do the swipe gesture.
However, after a bit of research and discussions, the problem lies within the hardware, so even if I port the S6 ROM, if the hardware does not support it, then it is no use for the software.
But, I have looked around on Ebay and other sites for Note 4 and S6 sensor. They look very similar in shape, but I am not quite sure about the exact dimensions (May be someone in this forum who has 2 devices can do the measurement for me ;D). So I am thinking if we can replace the Note 4 sensor with the S6 sensor and port the S6 ROM to the Note 4, would it technically solve the problem and now we can have the Note 4 with S6 sensor that works like a CHAMP?
If someone has already created a thread similar to this, please let me know and I will delete it or the mod can do it too. This is my 1st post so sorry in advance if I cross some lines
**Disclaimer** Please do not try this idea on your devices if you are not a professional. I am not responsible and cannot be hold accountable if you break your devices. Good day!
Even if you replace the sensor, there's still the software that would need to be reprogrammed in order to utilize it properly. You wouldn't be able to simply replace the sensor and expect it to magically work.
Just saying.

Yeah, I think the swiping fingerprint scanner is part of the security software developed by Samsung earlier on. While the fingerprint scanner on the Note 4, Note Edge, SGS5, SGS6 and SGS6 Edge are probably all the same sensor. It's the security software that would have to be updated in order for it to be used like the SGS6/SGS6 Edge's fingerprint scanner.
So I just grabbed my phone and saw a staple attached to my camera lens! Somehow the camera appeared to be magnetic right on the lens!
Now I'm worried a little bit because this could potentially scratch the lens since it's attracting ferromagnetic metals.
Is it common or just happens to be only my unit?
Mine is the same, I think is the stabilization system that uses electromagnets. Or the auto-focus...
I use a magnetic car mount and if place it too high it will start distorting the camera. I now understand why

Interesting. Didn't think the magnet would be so strong in that little camera unit.
Nexus 5 had the same issues.
Most phones have a magnet around the camera, they also make this little magnetic len's to add filters and zoom, not sure if they are even being made anymore, i just remember them on the OG Evo.

That is correct on both. Permanent magnets, and voice coils are used for near instant precision placement of the sensor, and lens.

My first nexus 6 was damaged somehow and u believe it was caused by my magnetic car mount. Is thinking it was related to the magnets used for the wireless charging but I'm not sure. The screen started getting distortion and after a few days was no longer displaying anything but slight background colors.

There are no magnets for wireless charging. It's a copper coil. Your issue has nothing to do with magnets. Sounds like having it sit in the heat on a car mount ruined your screen.
Never left nexus 6 in the car. Also my og moto x has been sitting in this car for ~4 months either in the dash mount or center console since I use it as gps for work. Still rocks like the day I got it almost 3 years ago...
I bought the nexus 6 used from swappa, no idea why it fried but I had a suspicion. Looks like I need to go deeper.

Likely what happened in the previous owners hands then. Heat murders these things. They can handle their own heat, but external heat is terrible for them.
Happens on the bottom of the phone too. I find it less likely to be the camera and alot more likely to be the big speaker magnet directly on the other side of it.
The camera len has magnet.Because it has OIS

When current is passed though a coil of wire it creates a magnetic field. It's how electro magnets, electronic motors, and how wireless charging works.

True, but the magnetic field power is negligible. And it's not actually a magnet. Just a tiny field of magnetic energy. I am very familiar with induction and inductive charging.
