latest G935FXXU1APF2 - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi,
I flashed this G935FXXU1APF2 through flashfire (thx @Chainfire )
the app did not flash the latest radio, as recommended by Chainfire, it should be flashed through odin.
Can you please let me know what file contains the radio and also how to do this, without wiping data.
thanks

The update make the battery out faster! Not recommended. And the phone is slower when compare to the earlier software.

Help regarding bluetooth toggle

Hi mates!
Currently here is my phone's setup:

Android 4.4.2 (GoldenEye)

So here is my issue right now. I received a gift from a friend which is a bluetooth headset however when i tried turning on my bluetooth toggle on my phone it doesnt turn on. I tried flashing multiple times the NON-HLOS.bin and modem.bin compatible to my current setup. However after multiple attempts it really doesnt turn on. If someone could please me out here. By the ive tried different methods already using android terminal and odin(versions 3.09, 3.07).
Thank you!

i didnt notice when it all started. i just noticed it just recently when i needed a bluetooth connectivity. will you help me troubleshoot it? is there a need for a log for it? im still trying to flash the modem and non-hlos files through different versions of odin.
I will try to flash a AOSP or CM based ROM.. i just tried re-flashing recently to fix the issue by flashing TW based.

if you can provide log it would be awesome but you better flash stock ROM it would be better.
I have the exact same issue, but i have to mention that the problem started randomly (my father had the phone and suddenly bluetooth wont work anymore on stock rom)
I tried flashing even with .PIT file but still doesnt help.
If anyone got the solution or possible fixes please reply to this thread so me and other users can see it !

From your 1st image AP: XXUGNG8 and CP: XXUFNBE (modem). So, modem didn't updated. You must flash the NG8 GSM/NON-HLOS modems the right way. Check it here wifi-not-going-on-i9505-flashing-custom-room.

yeah, i was using gng8 build of goldeneye. i will try this. later.. im waiting to have my battery full again before flashing.. i also find it that the it randomly turns on the bluetooth so i drains my battery as well. it's giving me a hard time even though i have power bank i took some time to charge.
I am currently on stock GNG4 build.. as well as my modem and non-hlos are non the same build.. i will try later to flash the bootloader of the same build if this will fix it.. crossing fingers. I will let you know guys once done for the results

Hi mates,
Kindly see attached logcat file that i extracted and filtered only with blue keyword using catlog app.
From your CatLog: BluetoothAdapterState(21311): Error enabling Bluetooth - hardware init failed
=> BT service failed to start. I suggest you
1) Try to update the GSM/HLOS modem
2) Try to update the boot loader (BL)
3) Test another kernel; I suggest the excellent KT-SGS4
4) Using a BuildProp editor, change this property "ro.securestorage.support" to false; this solves Wi-Fi not going on problems (blocked by knox), managed by this same modem code.
BTW: did you removed Knox? Is your phone knox void?

Thanks mate for your suggestion.. i already did try to flash GSM/HLOS modem as well as with the wifi fix. I've been using KT kernel ever since as I find it more stable. Even if i used GoldenEye latest build it's knox free and i already have tripped my knox counter. for your recommendation of updating the bootloader.. should i use the latest one even if it's still not available on my region? or should i use the latest one present on my region? (btw im on GLB/SIN CSC).

I checked this (Samsung Updates - Region/?region=GLB) and seems XXUGNG4 is the last firmware for SIN. You can try XXUGNG8 / DBT stock or GoldenEye. BTW: I´m on O2C/DBT CSC. It seems that DBT (German) is allways the first released firmware. I´ve got in troubles with this XXUGNG4 version. See full story here. Good luck.

Ok i will try it.. im still worried on the latest builds though. as there are possible issues that may arise. and it's in its premature phase,
Im currentl on NG4 bootloader and modem but on NG8 Goldeneye rom with KTkernel. Still bluetooth feature not working and phone heats up too much with battery drain. This week i will be purchasing a battery. My battery seems to be a bit bloated, but not too much. It may be a battery problem.

Im using the gng4 build, using as well the latest KT kernel, do mind sharing your config for the KT? heat issues are resolved. connections over mobile data and wifi are ok. random reboots gone.

Reading AriaMod's thread you can find:

2. One XDA member posted: "My advice is flash the new lollipop stock firmware first through odin, root with TWRP 2.8.4.0 and finally flash AryaMod 3.1."

Download N920CXXU1AOH6 Android 5.1.1 for Update Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920C) SM-N920C. N920CXXU1AOH6 Android 5.1.1 released for XFUN/a

I downloaded a newer version yesterday: N920CXXU1AOI1 (Thailand).
Don't see much changes, though there's a new app called 'Prime Time' but haven't tested it yet.
Will this work for the dual sim version?

No you won't lose user data when flashing via Odin. I've done it already many times and hardly ever lost data (only when the tar.md5 file you flash has another tar-file inside it, so i heard). I flashed the AOI1 over the AOH6 and my data was still there.
but always better to back up before proceding: Titanium, Nandroid backup, etc. when you have root, if you don't I think you can use Smart Switch on PC to make a back up.

That's very useful info, thanks. I kept reading that flashing a ROM via Odin inevitably would wipe your device. But when I flashed an official stock ROM, this didn't happen.
Well yes i downloaded firmwares from Sammobiles and no need to wipe.
But how come these don't come with BL and CSC files?

They do come with CSC-files but I believe those are in the 'hidden.img'.
Don't know about the bootloader though.
Usually the data gets wiped, in my experience anyway, is when you go to a new version (e.g. Kit Kat to Lolliop) when flashing the firmware through Odin.
I have 929CD dual with N920CXXU1AOH3 installed: worths to upgrade to N920CXXU1AOH6?

[FIRMWARE][D6603][5.1.1] 23.4.A.1.200 [FTF][PRE-ROOTED] Unbranded_DE 1288-5031

Cust.-No.: 1288-5031
Tools: Flashtool 0.9.19.8, XperiFirm, PRF Creator
MediaFire:
FTF: www.mediafire.com/download/4bsmiab7uy48bi5/D6603_23.4.A.1.200_1288-5031_R7C.ftf

No Custom Recovery integrated,
Pre-Rooted.zip tested with LB, ( dirty flash, cache/dalvik cache wipe )
FTF not tested but should work too.
This is my 1st try of creating a FTF-file and a Pre-Rooted.zip following some tutorials,
it worked for me, so i share it with you.
I highly recommend to install latest NUT's Dual Recovery after flashing the Pre-Rooted.zip, i noticed that system wasn't mounted properly, after installing the Recovery everything works as it should.
why is your firm without recovery?
I read that some users had problems with a included recovery, it's easy to flash it after the Pre-Rooted.zip, thats why my version is without NUT's Dual Recovery.

yea, i had the same problem with including recovery, when i made my pre-rooted DE .200 FW, so flashing it afterwards is better as the flash process of the FW runs without any error mesages.
BTW: Do you have the same problems with bad battery life on the german FW .200? mine is horrible compared to 5.0.2...

I never had any problems with battery life, i think it depends on how you use your mobile. Iv'e got no facebook, any messengers and have switched off mobile data the whole day, really don't need it at work.
I also limited the max frequency to 1 GHz. No probs so far with performance and battery life, but remember - i'm not a hardcore user.

Thanks a lot, I've been running the DBT / German version on my US T810 for a while now since it gets updates first and just got Nougat OTA. Recommend all users use the manual kies update here and get 7.0 right away: smoother, better multi tasking / split screen and adds reading mode/blue light filter. Also has April 1 security update. Will post on battery life later once it settles in but Samsung really delivered on this one. A major reason for tab s3 just went away (at least for a few months).
Thank you @Extreemator, I flash it with Odin and is working incredibly.
It is fast, stable and has a very nice UI, comes with Grace UX installed as the main interface, so the order of some options is different. The floating windows have two options, the first is the traditional Samsung split windows and the second is the native implementation of Nougat.
Until this moment it has working great, without lag, will have to see how the battery performs on the next days. The fingerprint reader is not fast and effective as it should be, but it does its job.
Just a reminder, for those who come from an NOT samsung rom (aka RR or LOS), it is necessary to clean caches after flashing the rom, otherwise you will have constantly crashes. You can access to the Samsung recovery by using this key combination: Power + volume up + home
Edit:
I have an USA región tab, but German work very well. When SC arrive I update it.
Managed to get root
could you guys check if the firmware is still 32 bit?

I flashed SuperSU from this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/root-s6-nougat-supersu-t3570740
Initially it didn't work (or maybe I did something wrongly). So I flashed SuperSU from this thread

It ended in a bootloop, but I flashed the first SuperSU again and it worked.
Looks like the T710 is getting updated too. https://plus.google.com/+DavidIwantschak/posts/ZkAMV45EpqH
T715 updated too. Rom is available on sammobile firmware section for download.

HC, flashing zips not intended for your device just because it says nougat in the title?!
I'm not surprised it didn't work considering you also flashed the kernel for that device.
Lucky for you supersu made a backup of your stock boot.img and restored it the second time you flashed the correct zip.
Next time I suggest you get it from source not from some third party thread.

From what I understood, that zip works in both S6 and Note 5, so it didn't seem a device specific kernel. However, i already knew the risks and how to recover my device in case of brick.
Well, I´ve dirty flashed with Odin, afterwards rooted with latest TWRP and then finally flashed Magisk. Everything seems to be fine til now.
The file download from OneDrive seems corrupted. I tried twice today and all of them get footer wrong message during update.
