Kind of a weird question, but why when I record video in landscape mode, I can't "watch it" in landscape mode? If I turn the phone sideways it goes to portrait, in order to watch it in landscape, I gotta turn the phone upright, and turn my head sideways. It's weird. Am I missing a setting or something?
Update. When I transfer the video to my PC, I get the exact same result as well. Anyone else have this issue or is it just me?

Has anyone ever experienced this problem before? The backlight isn't turning on when the phone is in portrait mode (even when the phone is booting), but will turn on when the keyboard is slightly pulled out (before technically flipping the screen) and works fine in landscape mode. I'm not sure if something is loose inside, but might have to open it up and see if no one has any ideas.
Do you guys know if there is a camera app that makes it possible the use the camera and especially the camcorder holding the phone in portrait mode? Pretty much like the iphone. It would only require one hand to take pictures.
thanks
What prevents you from turning the device in your hand so it is in portrait mode?
well, then it takes portrait pictures and portrait video
i wan to take landscape video (what else?) while holding the phone in portrait mode.
Then you would have to rotate the camera sensor somehow, do you understand that ? Such thing is not possible only by software.
It is surely possible by means of software, it works on many cameras and cameraphones. I'd think that the sensor itself is square, so it's just a matter of what portion of sensor data you want to use.
Anyone noticing that when veiwing web pages in portrait then switching to landscape works fine but when trying to go back to portrait nothing it stays in landscape. Is this normal or is my phone defective? Edit did a phone reset and accelerometor is working fine.
Hi all,
My phone has been acting weird recently. Whenever i access the phone app, the screen goes into landscape mode without me tilting the phone. It doesn't seem like it is able to escape the landscape mode. This is also true for the sms app. Does anyone else have the same problem, and does anyone know how to fix this. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Alex
Have you tried recalibrating the G-Sensor?
If that doesn't work you can try violently shaking the phone or give a slight knock on the sides.
Worked for my wife's iPhone. Never had the problem again after that.
I am trying to play a game on my android phone that is connected my tv via mhl to hdmi adapter. However, the game appears rotated 90 degrees on my TV screen. I believe that is because the developer decided to lock the orientation in portrait mode and then program the graphics and controls as if the user was looking at the screen in landscape mode. Is there anyway to tell the HDMI adapter that the phone is actually in landscape mode even though it was set portrait mode? Thank you for any suggestions.
