im interested in getting a mate 8 but the bands stuff always confuses me. I think i need the NXT-L09 but id like to confirm that before i go find somewhere to order it,

Yes but it says 4G not LTE. Carrier aggregation seems to work well too (CAT6). I'll put up a screen print when I get settled in here at work. The Nxtgenphone APN works fine too but VoLTE doesn't seem to work.
Visiual voicemail works flawless and sets up using SMS like an ATT phone as well.

Speed tests match my Note 4 as well.

I did a search and found nothing on the GT Note using simple Mobile.
Has anyone tried this as yet, and can you tell us what the speeds are like so far.
And what package did you go with.
Looks like they use T-Mobile's network, which means nothing over EDGE speeds.
I'm running one of the AT&T MVNOs on a trial basis and so far I have not been disappointed. I am loathe to give up my T-Mobile plan but unless there's a breakthrough in getting 1700/2100 AWS working on this thing I might have to make the move permanently.

Go phone sim cards are locked to the phone now. Unless you can convince AT&T to give you a new unlocked one it doesn't work.

I know this is old.....but just wanted to update it. I am using AT&T version with Simple Mobile now. The internet speed sucks big time. On speed test, i am consistently getting 25kb/s. With that speed, I am changing to the International Note next week....

You can flash a T-Mobile compatible modem on the AT&T version, if you're not aware.

So what are people doing now, then??
I want to goto 50$ month unlimited everything next month when my contract is up?
Is there a solution to STILL using ATT GO Phone plans with our GN7000's?
thanks.
You need Straight Talk with the AT&T sim.

What about this? As long as you aren't using any device which has ever been AT&T branded in any way shape or form (like an unlocked Note), this should work just fine!
The spec sheet for the Verizon G2 say that it's capable of both world GSM and CDMA, but someone said that it wouldn't work on any other network. Can someone confirm this? I really want the Verizon one because of wireless charging and lack of tabs in settings menu, but it's no good if it won't work.
[QUOTE=droid_
I think it is GSM unlocked but for outside of the US only. And BTW the tabbed settings layout is configurable on all versions.

For the settings, I figured that one out today, so I might just go with ATT. They rooted it flawlessly and plus ATT has the lowest price. Apparently they found it extremely difficult to root the VZW at first because there were no drivers for VS980.

I might be getting the VZW version because I live outside of the US too and my carrier works on 3G 900Mhz and (correct me anyone if I'm mistaken) the AT&T version does not support that band.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Verizon works in the US and is SIM unlocked. Using metro and T-Mobile Sims now as I test out their networks......
Edit: let me also point out you have to add the apn if you want data. You don't have to call Verizon or anything. Just plug in the SIM card of your choice add the apn and you are good to go. This has been done on all verizon LTE phones with SIM cards as long as the phone supports the bands of the network you are trying to use.

Drivers weren't the issue. It just took a while because people didn't realize you had to select "Ethernet" as your USB connection mode. Takes a single tap and you can use the driver that comes on the phone.

Hey, I just ordered a Note 3 on eBay and I received it today and it doesn't work at all. I put the tmobile sim in and it just says searching for service. I have gone through the network settings and not of that seems to work/register. Any idea why this might be happening? I can only think of one thing which is it was not fully paid off when they were selling the phone. Any help would be great thank!
Maybe the region lock. Do a search.

Doubt it is the region lock because, as I understand it, the phone should be asking for an unlock code.
Workout knowing more about the particular model of phone, at a guess I'd say that the Note the OP has purchased doesn't support TMo's radio bands for either 3g or LTE.

Dave

Would've been useful!
In that case, blacklisted IMEI sounds likely.
If you try to search for networks, does it slow any networks at all?

I've frequently been noticing my GS5 to have a really strong LTE connection (~90Mbps) and minutes later without moving at all I'm suddenly on 4G (HSPA+?). Is anyone else experiencing this or should I get my unit exchanged?

One theory I have about it is that my SIM card has been put in and out of many phones and perhaps the contacts are a little weak at this point. Do you know if that would affect my signal?

No, it has nothing to do with signal. The phone can get signal even without a sim card. All the sim card does is register you on the network. If the sim card was bad, it would most likely kick you off the network completely.
One last thing: Have you edited the APN settings at all? Are you sure they are the default supplied by your carrier?

There are different version of 4g HSPA+ is known as 4G but it is different from 4G LTE. Have u tried editing the band priorities maybe their competing against each other.

Which carrier is doing that? how confusing.
Wiki:
HSPA+, or Evolved High-Speed Packet Access, is a technical standard for wireless, broadband telecommunication. HSPA+ enhances the widely used WCDMA (UMTS) based 3G networks with higher speeds for the end user that are comparable to the newer LTE networks. HSPA+ was first defined in the technical standard 3GPP release 7 and expanded further in later releases.
In the United States, it is commonly available under AT&T Mobility and T-Mobile US.

And just to clear things up for me, you will see 4g and lte icons in the taskbar and switch between the two respectively? Oh and I see no mention of 4G relating to HSPA+ but lte yes, so I still am unclear what the OP has asked.
Edit: nevermind it doesnt matter, very confusion lol. Sorry toews didnt mean to hijack your thread dude.
You can google your apn settings from google.
Example.
Att apn settings.
And you can go into settings more networks and create a new apn. Just make sure you enter it exaxctly as it reads.
Xda folks have alot if threads on different apns for achieving higher speeds. You create the new apn hit menu and then save toggle the new apn and reboot.. alot of times if your seeing fluctuation it can be due to a node on one if the local towers in your area.
But as stated it wouldnt hurt to upgrade your modem. Of course this does involve root and custom recovery such a twrp.. hope this helps.?

I had been on TMo with Verizon Beta and ODIN'd TMo CP (for the modem) and added an APN for messaging. Thought that had been set up for AT&T also ?
