I'm trying to get lte working on my brother's nexus 4 on T-Mobile. I've tried many things but nothing seems to work. If any one has a possible solution, please let me know. Thanks.

Yes,I tried his sim card in my t-mobile galaxy note 3 and lte worked just fine. It could be that band 4 lte isn't suporrted in my end of the woods.
How sure are you that your Galaxy Note 3 is getting LTE?
I have MetroPCS; I have the N4, and a LG K7. The K7 in my house claims I get 4G LTE, but speed tests show EDGE speeds. The N4 claims I only get EDGE in my house, and gets EDGE speeds. I went out to a major city though and my N4 showed LTE.

I would try changing your apn to fast.metropcs.com. If that doesn't work then flash the zip.

Is sim card for your carrier activated? If so it could be your cellular provider's coverage for your area. The Nexus 4 only supports band 4 LTE. If band 4 isn't supported in your coverage area, there is not much for me to suggest.

Is the Verizon variant of the LG G2 AWS able to utilize the AWS spectrum which Verizon is beginning to activate across the USA?
I am trying to find out as well. Specs for the VZW version do not say this device supports band 4 which is where VZW has their AWS spectrum.
I have a family member who works in VZW and he's going to have his"Device Guy" check and let me know.
It may have it, since the GSM model does, and the suspected Nexus 5 passed through FCC with support for band 4, even though it didn't have 7 (VZW LTE)

If phonescoop is correct, it says it does have the ban IV 1700 just like the note 3 and the S4 have.

Yea, I saw that as well however it's the only website that mentions this. Even the specs on Verizon's website don't mention anything....
Is there a way to check the LTE bands on a phone via an app, (secret) menu or something?
from what I read is only those that are in the AWS area's like new york can check to find out. its the method the signal of the phone connects to the AWS tower. one guy posted that on his iphone that it changing as in the picture provided but I am not sure if about phone will give that level of detail about connection with a tower. see image

Sounds easy enough....

Hi!
How do I know my phone is connected to 4G?
I didn't see anything but H+ in notification area.
I am getting 26Mbps of download speed with Ookla Speedtest.
Am I connected to LTE?

H+ is 3.5G
So does your Note 4 show LTE icon?

If you are connected to LTE it will show 4G icon.
Do you have LTE in your operator contract ??
My phone actually says LTE (above 4G if I remember correctly) when it's connected to LTE
Screenshot would be really nice. Thanks!!
I need to show it to my operator.
We had Oneplus One in the same room as mine Note 4. And OPOne connected easily to LTE while my Note 4 was jumping between H and H+ and never LTE/4G icon.
Both on the same operator and same contract.
Really weird.

Your phone might dispay 4G for LTE depending of what network you're on. A few providers jumped the gun a few years back and started promoting H+ as 4G. So with some providers 4G means H+ and for others LTE. Judging by your 26mbs speed alone it could be lte or dual cell H+. In case of doubt to be sure of what network your're on go to settings> about phone > status. :good:
Well... the speed is awesome. Love it

Galaxy Note4
Go into other networks if you phone is on global than change it to LtE cdma and allow roaming for all trips this will optimize your signal strength
Hi all,
I've searched high and low for any answers to solve my question about enabling more LTE bands on my S5 G900F. I came from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/general/how-to-add-rf-lte-frequency-bands-to-t2886059. There is one person who claims that they enabled all the bands on their G900F.
I've followed the tutorial to a T and I have written the proper NV memory values and it doesn't not revert to the original. However I still cannot access the band on the phone. Is this even possible or is this just a bunch of hooy? If it is possible I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction or let me know if there is anything else I need to do to enable another band. (Its LTE AWS band BTW)
Thanks all
IMHO the network bands isn't only software related. There's also the the SoC that would support the decoding of the frequencies and the radio that could receive the frequency.
Enabling it software wise is just telling the SoC that the radio can recieve the said bands but in reality it still won't. The guide in that thread is salvaged from the Xperia thread which has a global radio chip from all of their models so it's easy to unlock additional bands software wise. As for the galaxy s5 I don't know but if it's radio chip doesn't support a specific LTE band then it won't unless you physically replace it.
This is the original thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...ad-progress-please-leave-im-updating-t2871269
What you're trying to do here right now is like trying to enable AM frequencies on a FM Radio.
Thanks. I was afraid that this would be the case. I bought an international phone without paying attention to which bands were supported on the phone and which bands are in my area. I think I get the next highest speed available, I just see H+ which is HSPA+ but I'm not quite sure.
Just sucks lol
I just wanted to come back and let everyone know that the guide did in fact work. I don't know why it didn't right away. I left my phone off for a few weeks and when I came back I had LTE. Again that was for Lte band 4.

I been using this phone over a week now and I love it. Battery is great and it last 2 days for me. I am using this on t-mobile network but on notification bar it shows 4G, Does this not support LTE? My wife is using Moto x and LTE is showing up there. Do I need to change anything? Is wifi calling possible? Please let me know.
Thanks.
Yeah the 4G means 4G LTE. I am also using the phone on T-Mobile and the status bar only says 4G, but if you go into Settings > About Phone > Status you'll see it say LTE under Cellular Network Type.

As far as Wi-Fi calling goes, I'm not sure but I would assume if the phone doesn't do it now, it probably will be able to after a future update.

This phone doesn't support band 12 which t-mobile utilizes to deliver LTE to a lot of areas. The Moto X pure has band 12.

I guess I'm just lucky? Mine will occasionally switch to HSPA+ in some spots, but most of the time, I have 4G LTE. I have the 551KL, not sure if that's the one you're referring to or one of the 550s. It's hard to keep everything straight when there are so many variants of the phone lol.
Either way OP - if it says 4G on your status bar, you have 4G LTE service wherever you are.

anyone using "FreedomPop" data-only GSM SIM cards in their AXON 7 in the US or EU?
In the US, it runs on the AT&T network(Galaxy Note5 and S7 edge)
what are the speed results like?
Thanks!
I haven't gotten mine to work yet.
You can probably use Freedompop GSM fine, but not Freedompop (CDMA), which runs off the Sprint network.

Yes, I forgot to mention that it's a data -only GSM SIM card.
It runs off AT&T network only. (on my Note 5 and Nexus 5X)

Thanks! That's not as fast I was expecting, but fast enough. My FreedomPop data SIM card always picks up AT&T network in the Chicago area. It's usually 5mbps to 7mbps when using my Note5 or Nexus 5X. (1mbps or 2mbps upload)
I wasn't aware that FreedomPop GSM cards use T-Mobile. Where are you located?
Sim 1 is T-Mobile prepaid, sim 2 is my freedom pop sim, I'm in Greensboro NC.

Freedompop uses AT&T or T-Mobile, you can choose either one. Instead of letting the phone automatically choose the network, you can search for networks and choose either or.
I'm using Freedompop as my second SIM in my Axon 7. I just tested from my house, and got 7.31 Mbps down and 2.65 Mbps up, with a ping of 286ms.
