How to install Lollipop 5.1 on Ascend Mate 7

Hello,
In order to install the latest Lollipop 5.1 beta on Ascend Mate 7, please follow the steps below:
1. Download the update file from here
2. Connect your phone to the computer
3. On the root of the SD card, create a folder named dload
4. In the dload folder, copy the update.zip file. Do not unzip it
5. Disconnect the phone from the computer
6. Go to settings-> menu-> local update
7. Select the package
8. Confirm the upgrade
9. Wait for the update to complete
10. After the phone reboots, i reccommend performing a factory reset, from the settings

P.S. Please note that this update is for the 2 GB version of the Mate 7

Software install failed on my 2gb MT7-L09

Only flash original 137, then 5.1. In case of changes it is not working.
FW is not the MT10 for the MT09.

I confirm as well that the Update from Local failed too ( MT-L09 )

Do i need to extract the update.app out the zip file?

For those experiencing the issues i did when trying to update.zip on L09
1. Download SP03 Rom here. https://mega.co.nz/#!fVIUCbaD!JZerWHy66gCzpNQHB58at6mynNzulP5NARQJnLsmaEQ
2. Connect computer and set phone into "USB Mode"
2. Extract the dload folder from the rom directly into the SD Root
3. Go into phones Settings > update> menu > local update to apply the update
4. The phone will reboot. Then update
5. Delete the update.app in the SD/dload foler (old stuff)
5. Download the Update zip from

6. Place the update.zip directly into the SD/dload folder
7. Go to settings > update > menu > local update to apply update
8. the phone will reboot and install update. It should be working perfect.

I wish I could upgrade without downgrade because Its a pain to backup and re install everything.

Please need help I downgrade to 137 try to update lollipop from local but when I hit uodater from my phone it said unfortunately stopped?!what can I do now?

Yes me downgrade fROM 141 to 137 then update to 5.1

Unable to install official update

Hi
I have rooted my lenovo A6000 through king root & then i unroot again , than i root it through super su package
But one official update came to my device 138mb , so i unroot it again & try to install the official package but one error came
unable to install package ,
Please give me solution ,

You need to flash stock rom of lenovo A6000 through QFIL or Lenovo downloader using a PC

Okay buddy but there is no flash file available for to flash lollipop on A6000. I suggest you to flash the kitkat and then perform all the minor updates then the major lollipop and then you might be able to install the next update of 138mb.
And remember when you do a major update the zip file gets downloaded to the lenovoota folder so do take a backup of that file beacause after installing the update the flash file gets auto deleted.

Are you on stock recovery? If not you should flash a stock recovery of lollipop

I suggest you to wait for few days as I have heard that many people are unable to install the update. Including the people who didnt root the phone. It seems lenovo is testing the updates.

simple bro backup ur update package and unzip it and see where is system.zip and place it ur sdcard card and reboot to stock recovery and select 'apply update from sd card' and select update package from where u placed system.zip...

Dial ####6020# and configure your country and then do the system update.

I'm using lenovo a6000 upgraded to lollipop . now I'm not able to use any custom ROMs. But working fine in stock lollipop ROM. If I install any custom ROM in my phone using twrp recovery. Installation is successful but after 2-4 minutes phone is rebooting again again. Showing Launcher settings has stop. I have tried all marshmallow ROMs and lollipop roms. I'm getting same problem. If any one know what is the problem then pls help me.
Every time I flash clean. Wipe cache, delvik cache, system, data, internal storage. Help me anybody.

Detailed instructions needed for downgrade from S219 to S208

Hi guys,
I'm in using k4 note with s219 build. I have to stick with Jio Join app to make calls. I have read some posts and found that by downgrading we can avoid sticking with join app.
Here are the instructions,
1. Downloaded S152 and S208 builds from various resources.
2. Found sp flash tool and lenovousb drivers within S152 rar.
3. Open flash tool and click scatter log.
4. Choose scatter loading file from target_bin
5. Click on download
6. Turn off the phone and connect with pc
7. Now, successfully downgraded to S152 build.
8. Finally, turn on ur phone and paste the s208 build package (rename it as update.zip) in internal/sd storage.
9. Go to stock recovery by pressing volume rockers and power simultaneously.
10. Choose update from internal/sd card where u kept the files.
11. Tada...! We are done..
Thanks for all the developers.. I have spent lot of time to find these steps. Hope, someone like me make use of it.

It is optional. If you want to perform clean install then you can go to TWRP main menu, Click on Wipe and swipe to factory reset
Or you can totally skip this step.
But it is always better to take a backup of your data --> Here is the guide to backup your data

No it does not work with ANY twrp , the thread is written by a ideot.

Absolutely. Usually it's 1-2 weeks from it's appearance on FF.

I have twisted mate 8 rom and I am interested in upgrading.. downloaded 580 but wasn't able to flash in using twrp .. read somewhere that I would need rom-pv file so downloaded 560-pv but have a question before flashing it.. will it make the phone full stock ?? I mean will it also remove twrp recovery and flash the original one ?

When I try to flash in TWRP the update.zip I get a 'error 7' notification. In the file is no assert code so what could cause the problem?

B582 does not work with Twrp

Upgrading to OREO (8.0.0) from CUSTOM ROM (Nougat 7.x.x) (already have TWRP)

Hi guys,
I tried to find a guide on how to do this coming from a custom rom but I couldn't so I'm posting what I think the process is and hopefully someone can tell me if this is correct. I just don't want to brick my phone so want to be absolutely sure the entire process is correct before I undertake this.
Coming from Custom rom means
1. Bootloader unlocked
2. Twrp already installed
Download Files

2. Get the right 3 files for your phone, mine is C636 (rebranded from Chinese version) so i'll be getting: MHA-L29 8.0.0.360a(C636) files
3. Rename them to update.zip, update_data_public.zip, and update_all_hw.zip
Flash Update
1. Use Vol-Up + Power to boot into TWRP.
2. Create "HWOTA8" directory in MTP sdcard.
3. Put hwota8_update.zip, MHA_RECOVERY8_NoCheck.img, and three huawei update package (update.zip, update_data_public.zip, and update_all_hw.zip) files into "HWOTA8" directory.
4. TWRP install sdcard hwota8_update.zip, it will reboot and install update automatically.
If I missed a step or something is wrong please let me know!

No, you need to use HWOTA, not HWOTA8.
HWOTA8 is only used if you are on Oreo already.
