Night mode not dead! - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Night mode is still in beta 3! Just have to find it. If you do the pull down from the top and tap edit you will see its icon. If you move it to be in the active shortcuts you can press and hold and its setting will open. I didn't know if anyone had found this yet.

Lock the screen rotation

Hi all,
Ive set a button to rotate the screen, I set it first in either the registry or via Screen in settings to be left handed and all is fine, press the button, portrait, press the button, land scape. But for some reason at random times it will suddenly revert back to right handed mode and I have to set it again in settings.
How can I lock it? I have tried setting it in the registry, I have tried changing it so there is no left or right option just portrait or landscape but it still for no reason will switch to right handed mode and I cant figure it out.
thanks
Seconds after posting this I found out what is changing the rotation back to right handed.
If I start the camera while the main screen is in portrait it then changes the registry to be back to right handed mode. If I start the camera while the main screen is in landscape it keeps my setting when I close the camera.
Any idea how I can lock this or chang the camera to be left handed?

Multi window toggle and by holding back button?

Hi,
I just bought this phone, upgraded from my Note 4. Basically on the Note 4, there's a toggle and setting for multi windows, but I dont see it on the Edge+? Where can I find it?
Also, on the Note 4 I can hold the back button then a side panel will appear with the list of apps that can be used in multi windows. But holding back button on the edge+ doesnt do anything?
I've done some googling but didnt find anything useful, pls help.
Press and hold the recent apps button. Available apps will appear at the bottom of the screen. You can scroll left and right through the apps. Just select an app and it will fill the top half of your screen. Second app selected will fill the bottom half.
Hi,
What you mentioned is split view. In Note4, if i have a full screen app running (e.g. games), then when i hold the back button, it will allow me to open another apps as a popup window so I can let the full screen app running while looking at the pop up app. But the split view doesnt support this as both apps need to be split view-able

Flight mode missing from quick menu

Flight mode has disappeared from the quick menu (the one that you pull down from the top of the screen) on my phone. It used to be there before, there used to be 10 settings so I had to toggle between pages to see all of them but now there are only 8 settings and flight mode is gone. I can only use flight mode by going into settings and switching it on from there. I use flight mode every day so I don't know why it's disappeared.
Also, portrait mode is now constantly displayed in the status bar at the top of the phone when it wasn't there before.
Is there a way I can put flight mode back on the quick menu and take the portrait mode icon off the status bar?
Thanks.

Unable to screenshot or split screens. Please help.

Been unable to take screenshots in anyway whatsoever. So videos on how to do it, but the three finger swipe up doesnt work. neither does the swipe down for split screening. Have even tried updating to the november sec update fota, no help.
Cant find a workaround screenshot option either. Anyone having these issues? is mine a lemon? please help..
For taking a screenshot Hold down power button and volume down button together for a few seconds. And for split screen, open any app in you want to open in Splitwise screen and then press and hold the square shaped button on the navigation bar for a few seconds.
Thanks a lot, that helped, this is my first android phone. Any idea why the gestures dont work? Seems to work fine for others in the videos..

There are only 2 gestures as of now double tap to wake and double tap to sleep. Other gestures may be enabled in future via updates as they are available in M1.
For screenshot use Google assistant, on any screen long press home button. It will show an option to share screenshot.
Triple tap to magnify
Just realised that the “triple tap to magnify” option which is there in the accessibility settings doesnt seem to work either.. is there a multi touch sensing issue at play here?
edit: sorry my bad. i took triple tap to be akin to the ios gesture which is a three finger simultap. its a single finger triple here.
