Settings Menu Crashing !! - Zuk Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The Settings menu works fine - until I look in Apps... it then crashes and closes after about 10-15 seconds
- it does the same when I try to look in App Info
I've Googled and some people say that clearing the Cache of the Settings app solves the problem... but obviously I can't do that now!
I've even rebooted in to Safe Mode... and it still frikkin happens!
I've sent to Bug Report which mentions something about:
com.android.settings java.lang.outofmemoryerror
Has anybody else got this problem... any ideas on how to get it fixed?

App menu issue help!

I just noticed looking at all my apps that they seem out of place, like you can only see part of the names and so on... what did I do... or how can it be fixed?
nvm can someone delete this, I rebooted it and its back to normal... weird though.
It's a fairly infrequent glitch. Happens here and there; either rebooting or force-closing the stock launcher will fix it.

[Q] Anyone else experience stock messaging closes?

So I've been experiencing an issue with my Epic. I dont remember exactly when it started, could be about a week after I got it which may also have been when I first rooted but I'm not sure.
But the stock messaging just shuts down periodically, no force close error message, it just shuts down. Happens right when I open it, if I open it a few times sometimes it will let me get into writing a message, then it closes and the message is totally gone.
This is the only app this happens with, except when I try opening apps right after booting but I suspect that is more related to boot process and Startup Auditor preventing certain things from running.
Anyway, has anyone else experienced this or have any help? I haven't seen any other reports, anyone thing the modified MMS.apk which is floating around might help? Thanks!
EDIT: okay so if I could delete this i would... just realized as i typed this out that I had Startup Auditor set to "keep disabled...." ugh

Browser constantly force closes

My stock browser force closes CONSTANTLY. Doesnt matter how many apps I have open or how many reboots I do, it forces closes AT LEAST 50% of the time I use it - which is often. Any ideas?!

This has happened to me ever since I installed the flash app. This wasn't occurring on the leaked flash app I downloaded last week. You are not the only one. Facebook seems especially force close on me.
Anyone else having this issue?
i too have the same issue. a lot of force closes, but this was happening even when i had leaked flash.
seems like the browser is having a lot of issues.
force closing, clearing data, and deleting cache doesn't seem to fix it neither.
Very odd. I am running stock, locked with the leaked flash and I don't think I have ever had a FC.
posted from my Xoom. Using the thumbkeyboard.
stock, locked, and yes, force closes all the time. Facebook especially. I had the leaked Flash, but only use it on demand. I had switched over to Dolphin browser, but now that I have the released Flash I'll give it another go.
Do you folks have the Labs -> Quick Controls on? I noticed a lot more FCs after using that option.
change plugins to on demand in settings/advanced.Any plugin you want to load on the page just click the green down arrow
noticed the same thing. Probably why its still a lab feature.
I've been having the browser lock up, and I mean become non-responsive without even a force close. Only good way to recover is to reboot. And this started happening before I installed Flash.
Not sure what's going on, but it seemed to start after updating to 3.0.1.

Yes. I was using quick controls. I'll shut that off and see what happens.

No I do not use the Quick Controls but browser closes all the time.
I haven't had a single browser FC yet. If it is like the app FC, there is a report button. I hope that everyone that has a FC in the browser is using this? If it is a consistent FC, please post the website address here so others can verify and also report the FC. The more the merrier.

Funny.. browser has crashed, but no fc. Just off.. restated with no open tabs. Odd
That happens to me once in a while on weird websites like launching a twitpic url from Twitter. Launching it again worked fine.
Just buggy stuff I guess.
I have had the browser just crash to the home screen with no FC several times. This usually happens when I have activated the flash plug in on a web page for a few minutes.

Hello everyone
I am having a problem with force closes if that is even what it is... Sometimes when i open the dialer and click to view logs it take a second longer and returns me straight to my home screen without me pressing anything or showing me the log
It has also done this with contacts but recently it has happened alot with the dialer
Does anyone know what is happening here?
i am running jvb hamsters rom if that would help
Kind regards

reboot your phone, if still happens then factory reset and reflash back the rom.

Cm7 Market Force Close random

I installed cm_encore_full-235.zip to boot of a 16gb sandisk class4, and the Gapps for that release
Google market works i can purchase and download. however every time i view a app and press the back button to go back to the list Market Force closes. It also sometimes randomly does this while I am browsing the apps list.
I have wiped the cache for market and cleared data for Google framework but the problem still exists.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix. I also have had the nook not come out of sleep and had to reboot but this has happened only once. Everything else has been great.
Just need to fix the annoying Market force close
Try clearing data for market... and fix permissions in ROM Manager... see if that helps
I get FC often if I am updating an app. Seems it locks up during the install phase. This has been common to several CM7 installs. Still running a Class 10 non-Sandisk SD card.

class 10 is most likely your issue... it has been covered that class 10 does not support fast enough random read/writes and small files.
Ok tried clearing market data and fixing permissions. problem still persists. I reproduce it every time by going to the app install screen and then hitting the back button, It force closes every time.

I believe this has been an issue with the new nightlies. I have not seen a changelog item that looks like it is intended to fix this yet.
Ok i will keep checking back, hopefully it will be fixed soon.
not too big of a deal just annoying when looking for new apps to install, If i know what i am looking for it is not too much of a problem.
