[Request]Can someone upload Odin files for Nexus 10? - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been in a Google bootloop for ages now, I've tried every toolkit and every flash-all.bat. Updates my drivers, used more than 4 different USB cables, more than 3 different computers and more than 5 stock images, sat at "formatting /data..." for more than 12 hours. None have saved my Nexus 10 from bootlooping. Flashing any recovery doesn't have any effect, the recovery seems to be stuck at LMY48X.
My only option left is using Odin, although I cant find any information on using Odin with the nexus 10.
Can anyone upload the AP and or PIT files for me?
Help me Odin you're my only hope.

Although the N10 is made by Samsung, I don't think there is anything "Samsungy" about it, and I'm not aware that Odin has been used or is usable on it.
That said, I know you said you've used every toolkit, but I've never had the WugFresh toolkit fail me. What recoveries have you successfully flashed?

I've had twrp and cwm on the tablet before, but in my efforts to unbootloop it I've not been able to flash any recovery. The commands go through but when I try to boot into recovery via bootloader it goes to the stock recovery. Temporary recoveries work but trying to flash twrp from wugs toolkit didnt work.

I had similar issue perviously that whatever i flashed via recovery wouldn't take.
Also I was unable to actually perform anything att all via the recovery.
The only thing that worked for me was to flash the factory images (found here https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#mantaray). I used the first build to be safe. (https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/mantaray-jdq39-factory-d79f489e.tgz)
Unfortunately I had to go through the painstakingly slow process to flash each delta update until i finally reached some point where i could actually flash the recovery with TWRP and then CM12.

How about fastboot? Have you tried to use fastboot to load images onto nexus 10?

[Q] Iam not able to install a custom recovery

Hey, just got my N4 yesterday.
I rooted my device today.
I also wanted to install a custom recovery like cwm or twrp.
But everytime it comes up with the android figure and a red warning.
Seems that every tool kit like the 1.6. nexus root toolkit or the Google Nexus 4 ToolKit is not able to install/flash a recovery.
Am i doing anything wrong?

What you are doing wrong is using a toolkit. Follow these instructions. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018179
I use mskip's Nexus 4 Toolkit without any issues. So far I've used it to root, install clockworkmod recovery and flash the stock image after messing up a build prop edit. Saved me a lot of headaches as I haven't used adb or fastboot commands in over a year, don't even have the sdk installed any more. This is the first phone since I got my Incredible in 2010 that I actually wanted to put a custom recovery on and play with.
Here are some basic questions. Did you unlock your boot loader? Do you have usb debugging enabled? Does your device show up when when your plugged in and booted up into fastboot? Do you have the correct drivers installed? Which recovery are you trying to install and did you try the other one available? Did you use the toolkit to root and did it work?

After you root the device using the toolkit, it is easiest to download ROM Manager or Goo.im from the Play Store to install your custom recovery.
As Ed Daddy said, it's best to use ADB, however, it would save you some times and a few headache if you could just go ahead and download ROM Manager. Sometimes people forget there are *really easy* ways to do stuffs.

While I agree there are "really easy" ways to do things, I was trying to point him in the direction of learning.
Obviously since they don't know how to flash a recovery, they probably aren't familiar with much else.
Learning how to do things properly never hurt anyone.

El Daddy is correct.
Toolkits are silly on Nexus devices, for Nexus the simplest way is flashing via faboot. At the very least take the time to learn from the guide that El Daddy provided a link to. With that knowledge you'll be able to resolve issues like this and help others who get stuck.
Actually I unlocked my bootloader, rooted the device. Using normal OTA 4.2.1
But it seems that every toolkit cannot flash the recovery.
I will try it now with using adb commands...
All the toolkits are are scripts that run the fastboot and adb commands for you, they're nothing complicated and IMO from someone with experience I prefer using them now as I no longer have the sdk installed. Gave up on custom ROMs, my own and others, a long time ago.

Actually it's fastboot not adb that you use to flash recoveries, two different animals. and to the poster recommending ROM Manager, its kind of borked right now and I wouldn't use it to flash anything.
Edit: spoke too soon on ROM Manager looks like Koush updated it and it appears to be working properly. This was the first app I ever bought back in 2010 when I first rooted my Eris and couldn't get clockworkmod recovery to install, the moderators at the time recommended ROM Manager to me to get it installed as nothing else worked.
Yeah, but both didn't work.
I used now the adb commands on my one, still remembering them from my Nexus One, and see it works
For sure fastboot and adb will work. I used it very recently when my n4 updated. Just make sure to download the latest cwm. Had a boot loop the first time as I used an old one. Hehehe
Edit: actually not sure if it was the old fastboot files or cwm that caused the error. Anyway I updated my sdk so everything works well

Actually all the tools booted the phone fine in the fastboot mode, telling me flashing the recovery is fine.
But every time i wanted to reboot in the recovery i got this android roboter with the red alarm...
with the normal adb commands everything was really fine!
You're getting that because flashing custom recovery alone without modifying a file or two generates stock recovery every after a reboot. Go to your /system folder and look for recovery-from-boot.p and rename that to whatever you like then flash the custom recovery again

Recovery won't flash

I had to do a complete wipe from the computer and flashed clockwork mod recovery. Since it was likely an old version I had the double 0 partition problem which I fixed by manually moving the files. I tried to update the recovery to twrp, but it won't flash using goomanager. It downloads and says it's flashed but it's not there.
I also seem to have a weird problem where I have to push the power button to get it to boot past the Google screen. If I don't push power it gets stuck there forever.
Any ideas?

Follow the sticky at the top that says flashing a factory ROM using fastboot/return to stock. Start from scratch, get it working, and then flash whatever you want.
Sent from my Nexus 7(2012) that has zero issues.

This might be an odd question, but have you tried just updating CWM first, and THEN flashing TWRP? Sometimes the flash won't go smoothly with an older version of one recovery to a newer version of a different recovery- not sure why, but that's just been my experience. I would update CWM first then try flashing TWRP.
Also, if goo is not working for you, you could try Rom Manager to update CWM and then flash TWRP. It can flash either. (If you really want to flash via the device).
Otherwise, (me personally) I'd just use adb fastboot to flash a new recovery.
Hope that helps
Thanks I will try that.

No problem. Let us know how it works out for you.
Tried flashing with fastboot, now it won't boot into recovery, just hangs at the Google logo.
Still needs a bump from the power button to get it to boot normally.

Ahh, that sucks! How are you *attempting to* access recovery... via reboot menu, via adb, or via 3-button press? It shouldn't matter, but you could try all three methods to see if any way will give you recovery access. Then, if/when you manage to get in, you could reflash again straight from recovery. I'm going to do some digging to see if I can find a better solution. I KNOW I've read about the same issue before, I know there's a solution... I just have to find it again.
Worse comes to worse, you might have to reflash stock recovery then reflash custom recovery. Might be a corrupt recovery img, but I will check and try some things out and let you know what I find.
Edited to add:
Yes. there was a bug in the older bootloader that bypassed/refused access to recovery... so since you restored stock, you probably need to update your bootloader to at least to version 4.18 (via fastboot). THEN you should be able to access recovery. I can't add links, but I can give you a text link once I find just the IMG file instead of the full firmware. Honestly, I never do backups so I don't have the file on hand. However, I may do one backup at least so I can extract my boot img and give it to you.
OK, so I found the info I was looking for.
From Elsewhere:
Steps:
Install latest nexus 7 bootloader.
This fixes the boot loader bug and now you can enter recovery from the bootloader screen.
Update the bootloader to at least 3.18. Make sure NOT TO DELETE THE BOOTLOADER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cannot emphasize this enough!!!!!!!!!!! I bricked my first one this way.
Use
fastboot flash bootloader C:\>>>>>>\bootloader-grouper-3.18.IMG***

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19608328/boot.img.zip --> This is from MY Nexus 7. It's Bootloader version 4.23, and works with JB 4.2.2- it does NOT have the recovery access bug.
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19608328/recovery.img.zip --> This is a copy of MY CWM, which I just updated to 6.0.3.6 yesterday.
I'd flash the bootloader, then flash your recovery of choice. Not being able to access recovery is a bootloader issue, not a recovery issue. The fact that you restored/reverted an older full firmware put you on an older bootloader that would not allow users to access recovery.
Try the new(er) bootloader, it should work. My device is a 16gb grouper Nexus 7 running 4.2.2. Before that, it ran 4.1.2 without any issues, so it should work to resolve the problem you're having.

[Q] TWRP wont start after Updating to 4.3

Hey guys,
I had installed TWRP on my Nexus 7 when it was on 4.2
Then updated to 4.2.2, and everything worked perfectly.
But now few days back, I updated to 4.3 and since the update, TWPR has stopped working.
When i go in recovery i get "!" marked Android (Photo attached).
Pls help, what should i do ?
EDIT : I have also tried flashing (through fastboot) new versions of TWRP, still no Luck !!
What you are seeing is stock recovery. You need to flash a new version of twrp
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The update flashed the stock recovery into your N7. Make sure that your bootloader is unlocked and flash TWRP through fastboot, with "fastboot flash recovery [thenameofthefile].img".
Pls read the post guys, I already tried flashing new twrp, it didn't solve the problem, that's why have posted!

Hi, Nikhs...
That's kind of odd... never had any problems myself using fastboot flash to flash a Custom Recovery.
Are you sure you have a working fastboot connection? Type fastboot devices at the command prompt to confirm this. You should see a serial number, followed by the word "fastboot" (without the quotes)... something along these lines...
Code:
025d2d424bxxxxx fastboot
If you don't see something like this, then attempting to fastboot flash anything is a pointless waste of time. You could have a driver problem, ubiquitously known as 'driver hell'. This need to be resolved before you can proceed.
If fastboot flash still fails to flash TWRP, then I'm out of ideas... the only other solution I can suggest is you try flashing the TWRP .img file using either one of these two apps; Flash Image GUI or Flashify. (The TWRP .img file to be flashed will need to be either directly downloaded to the Nexus 7, or copied over to it first).
Both are pretty self-explanatory to use... just follow the on screen instructions.
I have successfully flashed both TWRP and CWM .img files in the past, using these apps, on my Nexus 7, without problems.
Although I've never used it myself, I understand that GooManager will download the most recent TWRP .img file, and automatically flash it for you.
However, the problem with all these apps is... you first need to be already rooted for them to work. So if you're trying to install TWRP in order to initially gain root access, then these apps won't be of much use to you, unfortunately... in which case, you'll have to persevere with fastboot, and see if you can get it to work.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img should work though, and (barring driver problems) the only thing I can see preventing you from successfully flashing a Custom Recovery is a partition corruption, or some sort of underlying hardware problem.
On a final note, (and clutching at straws a little here), try a different USB port or USB cable or even a different PC (if you have one). Tech can be bizarrely capricious at times, and sometimes something as seemingly trivial as changing to a different USB port can resolve the most intractable of problems.
Hope this helps... and good luck.

Ged.

Problem solved,

then installed the latest version of TWRP over it.
Seems like that solved the problem..

Nexus 10 stuck at Fastboot Mode....I think

I have a Samsung Google Nexus 10 (Wi-Fi) GT-P8110HAAPHE Which was running Android 4.4.3 (I think but it is definitely the latest version) and I simply wished to root it.
I started following a video on Youtube and now I am stuck at what I think is called the Fastboot mode where My options are to scroll through START/RECOVERY MODE/RESTART BOOTLOADER/POWER OFF. I was using the Wugs Nexus Root Toolkit v1.8.3.
No matter which I select it returns me to the screen with the START option. When I select POWER OFF it does indeed power off but when I switch it on again it returns to the fastboot mode START option. I can get into download mode if that helps.
I did create a backup but cannot restore it.
I have done some research and downloaded the Android SDK Suite and fastboot/ADB and drivers etc ready to try and recover but I don't know where to start.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 which I have rooted and installed a number of different ROMS on so I am familiar with rooting but not sure if I can use Odin or something similar.
I think I have included all the information I have and hope someon can assist.
Thanks.

This is why I tell people not to use toolkits. Since everything is automated, it's hard to tell what went wrong and where. When it comes to Nexus devices, toolkits are entirely unnecessary IMO. These Nexus devices are so super simple to flash manually it's ridiculous. /END RANT
Okay. Sorry about that. Now, back to the issue at hand. The menu you are describing is, in fact, the Bootloader (aka Fastboot mode). Prior to using the NRT, were you completely stock? Was your bootloader already unlocked? To me, it sounds like you may have wiped your OS. Have you tried flashing the 4.4.3 factory image?
I was completely stock. Whilst using NRT I believe I had just succeeded in unlocking the Bootloader and the video then stated that with 4.4.3 a Factory reset was required which is what I did but I did not realise that deleted the O2. I thought that was on a protected partition like my S3 phone.
I can't flash the factory image as I can't get into recovery or is there another way of doing it?
I suppose where tablets are concerned I'm a book but if you could point me to any instructions on how to flash manually I'm hoping I can recover my tablet. Thanks.

Dont know how you got your os erased. But im using a custom recovery since I got mine so maybe the stock recovery erses the os when doing a factory reset. A factory image cant be flashed via recovery and must be flashed via fastboot. Its really easy. But it will wipe the entire device. If you dont want to wipe everything you need to edit it..

Great news everyone..........well for me that is
Thanks to Androidbeat.com I now have a fully operational Nexus 10.
Just in case anyone else was following this I did it by downloading all the necessary files into on folder on my Windows Desktop, opening a Command Prompt from there and followed the instructions.
Thank you to those who offered advice here and although my Nexus 10 is showing itself to be unlocked I think I'll give a miss to rooting it and just suffer the limitations rather than risk bricking it again.

Glad everything worked out for you. Just an FYI for future reference, the stock recovery factory reset does not wipe the OS (at least it shouldn't). By default, AFAIK there are no custom recoveries that will wipe your OS either while doing a factory reset. It must've been something with the toolkit.
Regarding root, it's super easy to get root on this device. All you have to do is download the custom recovery image file of your choice. I prefer Philz, but you can use CWM or TWRP as well. Then, download the latest SuperSU zip file (I believe it's v1.99r4 now). Simply fastboot flash the recovery image, boot into recovery, and install the SuperSU zip, and you're good to go. The whole process takes two minutes, and no toolkit required.

HELP! stuckk at Google logo device is corrupt!

I've posted in a few places here on xda but no responses yet, please help! I've unlocked bootloader, rooted, installed twrp, tried to flash cm13 but had the wrong gapps, so it failed, I tried to wipe and restore a backup I made in twrp but it says my device is corrupt then halts at the Google logo. I think all I need is to push the correct gapps to the phone through adb but I can't get my stupid pc to recognize it anymore. I boot into twrp, plug it in to the pc, tried multiple tools and sdk adb route, but nothing works! I have all the drivers installed, and reinstalled, keep getting a Windows error "The procedure entry point WSAPoll could not be located in the dynamic link library WS2_32.dll"
I read somewhere that the ws2_32.dll is only available in Vista and up... I'm running xp, I wonder if that's my problem. Sorry for all the posts and long explanations, I'm just frustrated and need professional help
You could get that dll somewhere and add it to your windows. I never flashed under Win XP... Also, you could try to download the factory image (NRD90U) from google. Boot your phone on fastboot mode and flash all the .img one by one and should be back to stock... That should fix your problem hopefully!
How do I boot into fastboot mode? I can get to the ko'd android and select options and get into twrp, it says download mode disabled and connect usb data cable, which doesn't change when I plug it in but I see my serial under fastboot in the skipsoft tool kit. I mainly get that error message when using that tool kit too

If you're running XP your pretty seriously out of date.
All of them say download mode disabled when you are in your bootloader. If you see the little droid on his back and the ascii device status in the bottom left corner of your screen you are in bootloader (which is fastboot 'mode' as you put it). Since it is returning your serial number it sounds like you're good.
I expect you may want to simply reflash the stock OS from your Skipsoft kit. Get it booted stock first, then install a custom ROM.
Ok thanks, got my bro here with his win 7 laptop, gonna try and see about pushing the correct gapps to the phone first, if I can't get adb to work when booted into twrp I guess I'll try the fastboot method to stock.
Is it safe to use the Skipsoft toolkit to flash stock Rom while I have twrp installed? And unlocked bootloader?

Ok thanks, got my bro here with his win 7 laptop, gonna try and see about pushing the correct gapps to the phone first, if I can't get adb to work when booted into twrp I guess I'll try the fastboot method to stock.

If your device is currently borked, just start from scratch. If you flash the factory image partitions properly as per Heisenberg's guide then recovery is overwritten anyway. And, you can't flash anything unless your bootloader is unlocked. You would need to reflash TWRP and SuperSU after it first boots.

I would suggest booting it up stock and letting it set up before flashing TWRP and then rooting. And if you do, when you flash TWRP via fastboot, boot right to recovery and flash SuperSU, otherwise TWRP will get overwritten by stock recovery. Rooting stops that.

I followed Heisenberg's guide with no problems the first time, it was all good before I was stupid and flashed a Rom with wrong gapps and tried to restore a backup, thanks tho, I really appreciate the help!

So you went through that and flashed the wrong Gapps pkg again? I may regret asking but what custom ROM are you flashing? There are really only debloated stock variants right now.

Not again, only flashed wrong gapps once, was trying to flash cm13 and got the gapps from opengapps.org. It's ask good now tho, I'm back to stock thanks to you guys and the skipsoft toolkit! Thanks again!
