You just need to use the "Sony Beats Edition 5.5" to make it work. This version is a flashable zip and has the driver prepackaged.
It can be found in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/themes-apps/viper4android-t2952137
And here is the direct download link:

Are you getting headset and speaker processing as well? I've flashed stock and rooted fresh then installed BusyBox and flashed the 5.5 Beats zip 3 or 4 times now and it outright refuses to process anything besides Bluetooth. I'm also on the H830 and I'm at my wits end as to why everyone else is able to get this working besides me.

Yes, all aspects of this are working fine for me. Bluetooth, Headset, and Phone Speaker... All functioning as they should... I doubt this will make any difference, but grab the zip I saved (and used) on my phone, from the Toy Box... It's in the "Apps (Root)" folder.

If this method wont work,I have another.
1. Just flash clean System partition to get rid of v4a sony.
2. Download v4a apk and install.
3. Install driver if needed.
4. Install Busybox.
5. Install Selinuxchanger and change it to permissive.
6. You are ready to use Viper4Android on the G5

I've tried selinuxchanger but when it opens up and I grant it root access it tells me it wasn't able to get root access and leaves the options greyed out.

No luck. Wiped and flashed stock tot, flashed TWRP tot, formatted to remove encryption, wiped again just in case, formatted a second time, wiped again just to be sure, formatted a third time, flashed SuperSU, flashed dmverity, flashed V4A, granted storage permission for V4A, installed Busybox, opened the app, driver is normal and audio is supported, but it's not processing headset or speaker. Bluetooth is fine. SELinuxmodechanger is still being granted root access but refusing to acknowledge it.
Am I missing a step installing SuperSU? Should I forego the dmverity zip? Should I install Busybox to a different location? I've tried installing to su/xbin and system/xbin. Does the stock H830 kernel support permissive? How would I go about changing it? Kernel Adiutor has a plugin to change to permissive but it doesn't stick. It takes the su shell command to change it, but I can't confirm it in the phone settings.

Why are you using a permission changer? And why are you installing the stock TOT before the root TOT?
Here's what I did:
Rooted device (did not use stock TOT, went straight to the rooted TOT)
Reboot Recovery
Flash DM Verify
Flash SuperSU
Reboot System
Reboot Recovery
Make Backup
Flash Xposed
Install BusyBox
Flash V4A
Reboot System... All worked fine... To be fair, I did not mention I had BusyBox installed above... That "might" be the determining factor here? I'm currently making a backup of just my system partition... If you want to try it, I will upload it for you later tonight after I am done with work. It's 3.9Gigs. - If you decide to, make sure you have a backup of your own first. I am not liable for broken stuffs.

Because I'm grasping at straws.
I followed the your order, I'm still just getting bluetooth processing. I'm willing to try out your system partition, I figure there's not much left to lose at this point. If that doesn't work, I'll concede defeat and wait until the B&O module makes its way over.

Busybox installed and selinux mode set to permissive?

Guys I have installed the dolby atmos version and ran a fix, it works on everything (speaker, headset, spotify..). But still not perfect, I believe an app is interferring with v4a, almost every time I need to do a phone restart before I start playing music, but then it works for hours...

I know this is all over the place, but I thought I would bring it here just in case anyone hadn't found the answer. I have seen a few posts about this on Reddit and some other forums. This will obviously hinge on having the unlocked bootloader. You will also need a file explorer that lets you view root folders just in case you want to make sure the binaries have been delete.
What worked for CM13:
Install SuperSU and use it's unroot method which should delete all SU binaries in /system/bin and /system/xbin.
Install phh SU and Magisk manager.
Reboot to recovery
Install the Magisk v6 and PHH SU files.
Reboot system after clearing cache
Access Magisk Manager and toggle root, it should prompt PHH SU to ask about permissions.
I have read that this same method works for PaulPizz and Jasmine Rom as well. PaulPizz has Xposed preinstalled, so you have to run the Xposed uninstaller and remove the Xposed app. Follow instructions from the Xposed for Magisk thread to reinstall xposed if you require it.
If you want this with the Stock Verizon image, there is a link in the Stock Image thread on page 41 with the bootloader removed for safe upgrade. I will update the post with links to the appropriate threads later today.
Credit to all the devs involved with the Note 4 and Android in general.
The method you've described worked for me on 0.35 PoGo. Then 0.37 update I already had to rollback.
I'm using HTC One M8, rooted, pph and Magisk on stock Rom, systemless xposed.
Now the forced 0.39 version does not run, leaving me with me 'Failed to log in' text. Please guys, work on some help I put my trust in you
I'm on Paul pizz and when i follow the instructions I can get full unroot, everything flashed, but when I go into Magisk manager I am not prompted for anything and if I hit the toggle for root it just toggles itself back. It appears that even after removing the super.su from system in twrp that I still can't get it to install.
I have also removed Xposed with the uninstaller and tibu to remove the APk. I can get systemless Xposed to install and work but not systemless root.
Any ideas?

I'd it's still detecting root, the su binaries haven't been removed completely. Also check that magisk toggles off root.

If you have xposed active, it may not allow you to toggle root off. You have to go to system less and deactivate and then reboot. Then turn off root in magisk. It's the only way I found to get it to work.

@blastagator:
Can you possibly list your steps for cwm and working magisk on your d800? Maybe I need to wipe all but internal, install lp bootstack in twrp-updated to one of your newer versions, install cwm? Is it clean from there to magisk and phhsu, magisk hide, phhapp? Will I need bumpboot ever for this?

I do not use CWM, so I can't help you with that.
Basic Sequence (assuming starting from completely stock):
Use your favorite rooting tool - OneClick Root still works (I think)
Then install AutoRec (appropriate version for your ROM)
That gets you TWRP - boot TWRP with the key combo
Flash newest TWRP - reboot recovery
Flash bootstack to match new ROM (LP for LP or MM)
Advanced wipe, wipe /data, /system, /cache, /sd, /dalvik
Reboot Recovery
Copy new ROM to phone
Install new ROM
Reboot phone, profit
for magisk, flash magisk zip and then flash boot bump zip
IMPORTANT: If ROM has built-in su (like CM13 DOES) you need to delete that from the device.
I'd recommend deleting these BEFORE installing magisk (but I don't know if it actually matters)
For CM13, enable root in the developer menu
use your favorite console app
Code:
su
mount -o remount,rw /system
rm /system/xbin/su
rm /system/bin/su
Some ROMs might have an su file in /sbin and you might need to remount / as rw to remove that. For CM13 it is just those two files.

Ahh cm is just the recovery not the rom, you use it and not twrp? The newest twrp for g2d800 is yours...twrp-d800-bump-blastagator?? What rom do you use? Will I be able to transfer files to the phone after wiping? I guess it stays in recovery after a wipe...just not used to that I guess.

Recovery lives in /recovery partition, so I guess I should clarify, don't wipe EVERYTHING, lol. I can't remember if I enabled ability to wipe recovery, DONT DO THAT :silly:
edit: Advanced wipe, wipe /data, /system, /cache, /sd, /dalvik
But, as for everything else, recovery will live through wiping /system /data, etc. You need to backup anything you want to save though. Wipe will destroy everything.
Other than that, you pretty much got the rest.
edit 2: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=d800
See image for ROM vs CM Recovery.
CWM = Clockwork Mod (a different recovery)
CM = CyanogenMod (a ROM)

CM13.
If you're trying to get safety net to work, you have to enable magisk hide (in the magisk app)
Also, if you're using xposed, you can't use safety net.

If the safety net test app passes, it should be working. perhaps downgrade your pogo a version or two, maybe they added something else.
Well, it's on a WiFi only, no SIM device...
I'm thinking this is the issue I'm experiencing now. Which may stem from an update. An older apk is a good idea, I was able to log on with magisk v6 a bit a go and when magisk 7 and 8 first came out I could.
I can confirm that Magisk v11.6 installs and appears to function perfectly on my stock, unrooted, bootloader unlocked MCG24.251-5-5 device. Also, MagiskHide is not enabled by default, so keep this in mind if you're using a work device or any other situation where you might get in trouble for failing safetynet. That's all I know so far.
Go forth and Magisk!!!

Sorry, I was wrong about being able to disable it. There doesn't seem to be an option for that. But as long as Magisk Hide is enabled, Pokémon Go works fine for me.
More complicated question:
If I'm rooted via Computerfreek's debloated stock ROM, is there any point to running Magisk--and if so, how would I switch from SuperSU to MagicSU

The only advantage gained would be the ability to pass safetynet/use Android Pay/play pokemon go while rooted. To switch, uninstall SuperSU by selecting the full unroot option in the SuperSU app, then flash Magisk.

It's mostly for intellectual curiosity and maybe android pay.
But it didn't work--at least how I went about it.
I went into SuperSU and did a full unroot but did not restore the boot image (should I have?)
Then downloaded and flashed the latest 11.6 magisk
When the phone came back up, SU was gone but Magisk didn't re-root it. There were no options to do so.
Tried a second time and wiped caches but no change.
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Magisk needs the OG boot image to work properly?

I installed it on stock MCG24.251-5-5 and Superuser is an option that appears in Magisk Manager. Yes, you should probably have the stock boot image before installing Magisk. I think the Magisk installer is designed to detect existing installations of SuperSU and not install its own superuser if it's detected, so if the full unroot didn't clean itself up properly for whatever reason, that might be why it didn't install with superuser.
It says:
...
-(Recommended) Restore your boot image back to stock
-Download the latest Magisk zip file
-If you choose to use SuperSU (only support Android 6.0+), first flash SuperSU in systemless mode
...
Which zip of super su should I flash therefore before flashing magisk zip?
I am currently, after restoring a backup, running your MGC stock with stock kernel, but I try installing bhb27s kernel now.
Ultimately I simply want to hide root+xPosed against my banking app...
€DIT: Wait, so SuperSUB may not be necessary, but is it safe to install magisk over bhb27s kernel?
I would do the following:
-Install newest v44 kernel from March, 12
-Reboot and look if Wi-Fi still works ...
-install Magisk 11.6
-Check if phone still works
-then install a working xposed
-Check if everything works
Is that correct or should I use another kernel version? I don't want another bootloop or damaged wifi^^

I don't see any problems with that plan, but you should know that xposed will insta-fail safetynet. If you want to hide modifications from anything that uses safetynet, xposed in any form is not an option. The only thing that works for me is Magisk 11.6's built in root, no xposed, no other modifications. With that, I can use Android Pay, Pokemon Go and my banking apps just fine as long as Magisk Hide is turned on. Android Pay and PoGo are blocked by default, but you need to make sure to go in and manually check the box next to every other app that you want to hide stuff from.
Also, if you insist on using SuperSU instead of the built in Magisk root (why???), you will also have to install the latest version of suhide (and I'm not positive that works anymore).
.I did not exactly know Super SU is just an option so I will not install it. Wish me luck
Also I hope there will be a way to hide xPosed however my banking app does not use SafetyNet, there is still hope, I don't care about Pokemon Go.
€DIT::: Everything working perfect - however safetynet fails when checking with Magisks own test. I guess it detects the Bootloader?
€DIT2::: Now after another reboot safetynet is successfully bypassed. My banking app still doesn't work - looks like they found a way that is even better than safetynet.
I just haven't had time to dig up another boot.img and flash it. I might revert back to SuperSU and come back to this later.

Try clearing the data for your banking app. Maybe it's set up so that once it fails, it never checks again. Also, clear cache/dalvik cache in TWRP if you haven't already. Also also, did you remember to block the banking app in magisk hide?
I tried installing the viper4Android on moto G5 Plus India variant and installed the driver.
I have already installed busybox and rooted with su.
But the viper4Android is not processing the audio when played through poweramp player. Also I have made the required audio settings in poweramp.
Any help in this regard is appreciated.
Which su you flashed?

Did you ever get it working better with superSU? I couldn't get it to work at all.

Well, I flashed superSU after uninstalling magisk, the V4A app that I flashed earlier still worked fine. So, I didn't bother to check if it worked on a clean install.
same problem at me. i've tried any version of v4a but nothing work. Suggestions?
I have same problem with SuperSU 2.79. always have to exit viper then restart to begin processing. Makes no difference with which Music player i use it always stops processing. Didnt have this problem on aexop ROM though. I also tried using magisk but had same result with failure to keep processing enabled.

Did you installed viper4android magisk module? I also noticed that on some roms audio modification magisk module causes problems with viper.

I don't know, maybe. I am using Magisk v13 + Busybox by osm0sis (magisk module) + Viper4Android FX (magisk module) + Viper4Android v2.5.0.5 (flashable zip).
I also have FX Compatible Mode set to Compatible in Viper settings and Music FX disabled. My current ROM is Pure Nexus.
The Arise Sound System zip flash install works much better:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/r-s-e-sound-systems-auditory-research-t3379709
But they leave out the critical step of modifying the arise_customize.prop file and placing it in internal storage
BEFORE you flash (SMH).
http://www.droidviews.com/install-arise-magnum-opus-sound-mod-android/
...but I'm having the same issue - no processing, then it works, then not.
MediaMonkey Pro is my music player, and I really don't want to use another one.
Grrr...

Have you tried using a different music app like the Google one. Always found it a struggle with power amp.
Most of the magisk modules will fail on the moto g5 plus. You need to flash a custom kernel in order for the modules to work, including magisk hide.

Disregard the posts from a long time ago and install this (see screenshot) from the Downloads section of Magisk (for me it appears in Modules because it's installed), it's very easy and works perfectly.

Thank you for the reply. It seems Viper is not working properly even if I did it in your method. Should I uninstall audio fx?

Yes, you must have something conflicting, possibly from already trying other versions but hard to tell what. I've been using either that or the one by ShadySquirrel (also in Magisk/Downloads) for several months on dozens of installs of the popular nougat & oreo ROMs with zero issues.
Try a fresh install after full wipe (dalvik/system/data/cache) - install only ROM + gapps (no custom kernels until after Viper is working) - boot once to system/desktop to make sure all is ok but don't install anything yet from playstore/SD/etc - install Magisk in TWRP, reboot system - open Magisk, do any requested updates, check safetynet fully passes (if not install safetynet fix or will get errors trying to install from Downloads) - find Viper in Downloads, choose to install (not download), when finished choose reboot - open/configure Viper, check on something very basic like default music player, should be working - keep checking as you install apps/kernels/etc so that in case something conflicts you'll know what.
Ok so I've been having a hell of a time with this phone so far. I have the boost mobile variant (xt1766). I unlocked the bootloader, installed twrp, but forgot to make a backup before flashing supersu, after which my phone would no longer boot so I flashed lineageOS. It booted up fine but I had no 3g connection so I wanted to go back to stock. I downloaded the stock firmware, but couldn't get RSD lite to install on my computer so I extracted all the files and flashed them manually with fastboot. After that my phone wouldnt boot and TWRP couldnt mount the data partition so I couldnt restore my lineage backups. I had to format the data partition in order to restore from backup but now I have nothing on internal storage, and my phone wont boot into system unless I boot into factory mode from the bootloader. It boots up fine in factory mode but now I have no network connection, no service whatsoever.
Under sim status it says Network: unknown, cellular network type: unknown, Service state: Radio Off, etc. I tried manually turning the radio on but that didn't work. I really just want to go back to stock but I don't understand how to accomplish this. I flashed everything in the firmware package in the correct order, and somehow it just rendered my phone useless. any help would be much appreciated. I've tried just about everything and I'm at a loss here.
Update:
I successfully got back to stock. For some reason executing the fastboot commands manually one at a time didn't work so I made a bat file with all the proper commands, executed it, and this time it worked. Not sure why it didn't work the other way but it might be because I didn't flash the stock recovery so as not to replace TWRP. Apparently when flashing firmware its all or nothing.
Are there any custom ROMs with 3G functionality for this device? Cuz so far every single one I've tried gets no network connection but this stock ROM is lame.

Not "lame" unless that's the latest descriptor for a reliable, fully functional, device optimized ROM that just works. If you want additional bling/tweaks flash Xposed framework and a few well regarded modules like GravityBox.
Alternatively, you can cycle through the various custom ROMs and decide which suite of compromises you're willing to live with. Suggest a careful read of the relevant ROM thread before diving in. Be sure to backup what works (including stock!) and store those nandroids on a SD card and/or off-device.
Good luck.

That's because you're on boost, not many ROMs here have CDMA support. There is a fix in the help section. But stock is fine for me. Gravitybox and all features of any of the broken unofficial ROMs are all there. Rock solid, and LTE. But flash away dude.

I haven't been able to install the Xposed framework. Xposed installer says my CPU architecture is incompatible. When I flashed Xposed v89 for nougat my phone wouldn't boot past the boost logo. I keep hearing about people getting Xposed working on this device but I can't figure out how they're doing it. I would love to be able to have gravity box on this ROM.
Apparently the purityOS guys made an unofficial work around a while back but all the download links in that thread are dead and I can't find it anywhere else. It's my understanding that i need to be able to set selinux to permissive on boot in order to install Xposed.

No, regular Xposed. Wipe cache and dalvik, and wait. Let it sit 5 - 10 minutes. It has to optimize everything. Make sure it's the arm build. It works fine, just gotta let it sit. First boot takes a good bit.
Or use magisk, and install Xposed through that.
Do not use that old purity crap. That's why the links are dead. It's old crap. Xposed works fine with no extra steps or messing with selinux.

That's BS; don't overcomplicate things. Xposed framework installs fine in enforcing mode. Make sure you have the correct framework for Android 7.1 (SDK 25) and your hardware (arm). You will also need the corresponding management app. There is no need to wipe anything before/after flashing the framework although doing so can't hurt. First boot will take awhile; patience is a virtue.
Got Xposed working now with gravitybox and edge in full effect so this stock ROM is now much more tolerable. I guess I had the wrong version of Xposed installer and didn't wait long enough for boot to finish.
It broke safetynet though which I fully expected. I'd rather use the systemless Xposed magisk module so I can pass safetynet but I can't get any magisk modules to install successfully either through magisk or by flashing with TWRP. Apparently I'm not the only one having this issue either and it doesn't look like anyone has found a fix for it as of yet. I guess for now I'll have to live without Pokemon go lol

Well yes there is most definitely a fix. Your problem is the f2fs loopback bug. Your solution is the f2fs loopback bug workaround module. It's in the magisk manager app. Download there, but install it in twrp. Then magisk modules will work. You must have halted your research a little early because this is well known, and posted in many places.
You still won't pass safetynet with systemless Xposed. Which a little reading would have also revealed. But, you can turn off Xposed in magisk , then reboot and pass safetynet. Do whatever it is you need safetynet for, then turn it back on and reboot. You must completely uninstall the Xposed you have to use magisk Xposed. You must use the Xposed installer APK that's linked in Xposed for magisk so it recognizes systemless Xposed. So uninstall Xposed with uninstaller zip, uninstall Xposed APK. Wipe caches. Then you can just go in magisk manager, scroll to the bottom of downloads, install Xposed sdk 25 module. Also Xposed installer APK linked 8n the readme that pops up when you click the Xposed module in magisk downloads. See screenshots below.
Also, there is more to pogo than safetynet. There is an entire thread devoted to it (more than one) in the magisk section of the forum.
You have a bit of reading to do in order to do the things you want. It's all very easy to find. You don't seem to be looking very hard.

I'm well aware that the problem is f2fs loopback but due to the bug I'm unable to install the fix. Can't install magisk modules so a fix in the form of a magisk module doesn't really help me. Ive tried installing it with TWRP a couple times with no success. As far as PoGo I've actually never even played that game. Was just curious about it.
And I'm not sure what app you're referring to but that "wow" face is a chrome shortcut. Changed it cuz I didn't like the default grey square.

Trend continues; reread post you're disparaging. Or module OP. f2fs loopback 'fix' gets flashed in twrp or via fastboot (for the adventurous).
I edited my post shortly after your quote. Tried installing with TWRP more than once. Doesn't show up in magisk modules.
Just flashed with fastboot and now it seems to have worked. Fastboot for the win.
Maybe all caps will help out
go inside magisk manager> downloads search F2FS LOOPBACK BUG WORKAROUND, FLASH INSIDE TWRP!!! WILL NOT WORK IF ATTEMPTED TO FLASH THROUGH MAGISK MANAGER!!!!
