So most of our G2's are nearing or older than 2 years.
Lately I've been having trouble with my battery, the battery seems to last a fraction of what it did. But I also notice that sometimes it reports the incorrect battery percentages and goes up by 1 or 2 percent during sleep, it also charges much quicker than it should.
Any ideas what's wrong or is this to be expected of an old battery?
Perhaps it's worn out? Try calibrating the battery, if it doesn't work, I think it's time for a replacement.
After three years I bought a new one from eBay (15$). Usually a battery can be charged 750 times before the capacity reach is going down. Replacing is relatively easy. There are some Youtube tutorials showing the whole process. Now the battery last the whole day again.

It was sold as original LG manufactured. And it looked very similar to the thing I removed from the phone. Otherwise it would be an excellent fake, but it works good and last a day under heavy usage. The production date printed on the label was 7.2015, when I remember correctly.
I bought here

I don't know, why he wants ridiculous 99€ now, I paid 12,90€ in March 2016.
here a pic after the operation:

Hi Guys,
I've seen a few people post about this error on reddit where their Nexus 10 is at anywhere from 30-60% battery and it suddenly drops to 0%, everyone reporting the problem seems to of had their tablet for a year and a half...
Why is this happening, what's the fix and is it the battery needing replacing?
Is this covered by warranty if purchased through the Google Play store?
Anyone able to help/advise?
Bad battery. I had to replace my battery and the problem went away. You will have to buy an aftermarket battery and install it.

Hi,
In my case the battery would drop from 20% to 0%, but after letting it fully discharge and then charge fully while turned off it stopped happening. Don't know why, but randomly it starts again, the same procedure always worked for me.
However in some cases it can be indeed a faulty battery and need replacement.

I contacted Google and apparently they'll fix it as the tablet is in good condition and it's still in it's 2 years warranty.

That's awesome....but I thought the N10 warranty was only one year.

Ya my note 3 did the same thing, i thought it was tye battery caz of the 8 dollar price. That is the conclusion i came up with too the phone was never really hot and 2 of those batteries swelled up making them unusable. I did upgrade the battery didnt have any more swell. I would like to know how that does happen though, i thought i was the onlu person that ran into this im glad read this post and hopefully can get an answer as im very curious if it was the type of battery or if was kernel. I cant remember the kernel i had but thought might be from putting too much speed in my rom.

Yeah. I want to know this too. These days i have been swapping between stock and cm 12.1 and on stock the battery amp ranges from 1200mah to 1800mah but on cm12.1 it always stayed at 1800mah and also phone got hot. It may be due to that or it may be because discharged this battery once to zero and then recharged it to 100 and then jump charged a couple of times. A lot of factors and this one was abused a lot so I can't put my finger on exactly what I did that caused this.
I just got my phone and the battery life looks like s***

Note: I haven't charged to a 100% yet. Just got the phone and it had 25%~ battery off the box
So what is the problem?
If you check the screenshots uploaded by other people about their battery life, you'll see that mine is WAY lower.

I'll test it out for a day or two. If the battery remains like this, I'll ask for a replacement.
This thread is so foolish. You got a phone with 25% battery, have probably been playing around with it, syncing everything, having the phone settle in, haven't fully charged it, and you're complaining about battery?
Do you also give 1 star reviews in the play store because an app that clearly says needs root, won't work on your non rooted phone? EVERY phone has to settle in. No phone is going to give you 5 hours screen on time with 25% battery from a fresh out of the box setup. Your expectations are way too high lol.
Give it time before you complain man, come on.
Hey, everyone
I am sorry, I haven't bought a new phone in 4 years. I had forgotten about how to bench phones. I wasn't complaining, I just wanted to know if I should be worried.
Just give it a day or two. It'll come around
Hi,
What is your typical SOT at the end of the day?
Am hardly getting SOT of 1.5 to 2 hours!
Sent from my Lenovo P2a42 using Tapatalk
Didn't check the on screen time and can't now because I just flashed the phone.
But I can't get through not even half of the day without a powerbank, even if I only message on facebook, this is ridiculous.
Will try to calibrate the battery now, maybe that'll help.

Managed to get this much, if it's correct, cause I've noticed the value jump around.
But if it is correct, I got so much because I used my phone extremely lightly that day.

Anyone experienced battery drain after september 2019 update or it's just my battery problem?
Works fine for me.
Same thing for me, I've noticed a huge battery drain all of a sudden since August update, forcing me to charge the phone twice a day since it got to the point where the phone was losing like 5% battery every hour in idle... First I thought the battery was dead but simply deactivating LTE does the trick for me.
I suggest you try forcing EDGE and use Wi-Fi instead of LTE, at least it's worked so far.
Haven't put an eye on that. (O_O)
Let me check. Thanks for the advise!
and I thought I was the only one with this problem
I have consistent idle screen-off usage ~0.8% per hour probably ever since I bought the phone. Use battery monitoring app and check if you really have high battery usage with screen off. It will also help you confirm if any action you take is successful or just a placebo.
Edit: It's worth noting, that if you use quite popular Whatsapp on the PC, it will cause higher battery usage of your phone. Not sure how many people realize this.
I replaced battery yesterday because my old one was really bad.I can confirm that after September update i have battery drain.

That's quite normal usage for Bluetooth (especially if you're streaming online music). My Bluetooth streaming uses about 4-6% per hour. Also screen on is perfectly normal.
