Hi all
Moving on from My Nokia e 71, E 72, And my existing Palm Pre plus...
I really miss a notification light and its avaliability on my Samsung Galaxy SL i9003....
As per my understand this requires a bln support capable rom as the custom room for the Galaxy SL is not available yet and the first release is unlikely to have BLN Support.. Is there any other way or method to enable these notifications using the two buttons on either side of the home key as notification light together or individually to indicate various notifications...

There was something related to this called NoLED. It's a free app in the market that enables different color notifications based on messages, etc.

No, there is no other way to enable backlight notification than customised kernel with BLN support. We have to wait until Samsung release the source for kernel, and until a dev implement it.
NoLed is an alternative, not the same.
there is an app called as let me know try dat i think it will work
no led
no led uses the screen as the notification and I feel drains a lot more battery as it has to keep the screen on for it to indicate the led or rather simulate the led...
the best way I feel would be from the light on either side of the home key...
As for let me know app can you provide me the link or correct name for it as I am not able to find it on the market... Any other suggestions from anyone would be great..
I did manage to find an app once which could turn the lights for the buttons on and off but not tied up with the notifications...Can that app be modified in some way to do the job...
http://db.tt/AeRPuGo
but dis app is a pre release
I found another app on the market but it works only on the LG optimus but it seems like a great app for the features and configuration options it offer only issue it does not work with the samsung I9003...
but it is surely a great template for the kind of app the samsung needs..I really wonder how could samsung as a matter of fact over look such a thing and Lg think of it so well....
The hunt is still on though I am hoping will find an app for the job may be (fingers crossed) soon...will try the pre release app though right now..

Buddy it is working for missed sms notifications now but not working for missed call and missed email notifications...
Is there any app by which we can use the front flash to blink every time we receive any notification on moto x style/pure (unrooted). Please share
EDIT: Found it.....it's FLASH ALERT 2 version 2.1.5.. Available on play store.. Works perfectly...
..
I think at the moment there are only apps that can use the notification light for things like when the phone is charging. I don't know about for sms or other notifications.

try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j7/themes/j7-flash-notification-torch-t3338126
works perfect on my galaxy j7
I am able to control the front-facing camera's flash by using Tasker. Use the 'Set Light' function under 'Alert' in the actions list. In the light source menu, the flash can be triggered as a torch or as a momentary flash. 'torch-light0' is the constant-on until you set the value back to 0 and 'led:flash_0' in the momentary. Be careful testing it - the flash is really bright, lol. Root is required to control the light.
I must have read everything but the last word of the OP. Sorry. Hopefully, this info can help someone at some time...
Found it for unrooted MOTO X STYLE..it's FLASH ALERT 2.. Available on play store.. Works perfectly..

Hide nav bar without hiding notification panel
Hi All !
I'm from India and I just got my new Galaxy S8 in Midnight Black variant. I basically have 2 queries :
1. Is there any way by which you can customize the colors of the edge panel lighting?
Like for example: In the S7 Edge, you could assign colors to specific contacts and application notifications. I cant seem to find the same for this phone.
2. Is there any way by which we can customize the notification LED to specific colors ? Like for example you can assign a specific color to a specific application or contact ?
I really cant find these 2 things. I'd be disappointed if there aren't any options to edit these. My LG G3 had the option for the Notification LED and the older S7 Edge and Note series also had it.
Can anyone throw some more light onto this matter?
Thanks !
Just don't play with LED... There are several people who played with some apps for led and they damaged the led so it doesn't work anymore!!

Hey XDA,
Does anyone know if it's possible to enable the android ambient display on a rooted style (I much prefer it to Moto's Active Display). I've been trying to get it working for a few days now. I disabled the moto display task, and can select ambient display in settings, but no go. I've installed the Ambient Display xposed module, and have all the options, but still doesn't turn on when I get a notification or when I reach for it.
I've also tried setting up a tasker profile to make use of the sensors, but can't figure out how to switch on Ambient display, not the entire screen.
Any ideas?
Yes, running into the same issue with stock OTA 7.0 and ambient display on XT1575.
Was anyone ever able to get stock ambient display (not Moto Active Display) working?
No... As most developers of ROMs for this device who have ever tried to get Moto Display working on a custom ROM will tell you, Ambient Display and Moto Display cannot co-exist in the same device. If Moto Display is installed (as in on stock), then Moto removed or otherwise permanently the default Android Ambient Display functionality, likewise if Ambient Display is working, Moto Display cannot even be installed, because of how this works it likely has hooks into the kernel as well.
TLDR answer... If you want Ambient Display go to a custom ROM, otherwise live with Moto Display if you want to stay stock.

Nope, the truth is that lenevo intentionally removed some ambient display code from 7.0 for some unknown reasons. On previous 6.0 android you could enable it just by disabling moto display app in the settings.

Hmm... Then why can't we add Moto Display to a third party ROM? (I only refer to Nougat, Marshmallow is legacy in my book)
