[Q] WiFi and Bluetooth Problems

This is my first time using a custom ROM and I have experienced problems. I used the GingerIceJelly (Kernel) Custom ROM
When I first flashed my android:
its seems to be working perfectly at first. But as I tried the Wifi, I encountered a problem. I was able to connect to a secure Wi-Fi hotspot. But the problem was that it does not transmit data (internet). I have tried to connect to other Wi-Fi connections (with or without security) but still cant transmit data. Other devices that I used to connect to those routers where able to have internet/transmission of data.
After reading the thread again, someone suggested to have it reflashed. So I reflashed it again.
2nd Flashing of same custom rom: (followed the instructions obediently and diligently)
Bluetooth wont work anymore (especifically wont switch on). I have tried switching it on through the notification bar and at the settings but the results were the same. It says "error"
Wi-Fi problem solved but bluetooth seems to have problem now.

Well.it may happen in other Rom also.so u need to do this because when I got this problem on custom Rom I tried myself.
1) for wifi problem if not connect long press on the network then click forget reboot phone.
2) For Bluetooth problem when it gives error just reboot ur phone then see it ll work.

Thanks for the reply sir.
Well, I decided to reflash for the third time. Bluetooth now working perfectly and was able to send files normally. But the WiFi problem still exists. I tried your solution sir. But still no change. Wi-Fi can still connect but still no transmission of data. Same goes with the other networks I've tried.

Nice to know that ur Bluetooth problem got solved.:thumbup: one more try u have to do just flash stock via odin then flash custom Rom the other problem should be solved.hope it may help.

yes, i already flash stock via odin. I was quite frustrated for having that problem. I decided to flash other custom ROM for now (TD Kernel). Wifi and Bluetooth now working perfectly. :good:

i am also using GIJ rom and yes there is a problem or bug in the wifi...
the dev of the rom is trying to repatch and fix the problems don't worry....

thats great! i honestly love GIJ but quite discouraging because of its bug. i hope the dev can fix it.

Wifi Doesnt Turn On

Hi, i have a problem, the wifi doesnt turn on i have the POF3 Modem and BOG4 Bootloader, any solution?

I am also facing similar issue after i upgraded from 4.4 to 5.0 through Odin. My phone is 32 GB, running BTU/UK unbranded firmware. I rooted it to resolve the issue and tried some fixes like Editing ro.securestorage=true, changed it to ro.securestorage=false but it didn't work. Please help.

I am on Stock Lollipop N9005 and facing this issue that wifi and Bluetooth not turning on. Cache cleared Hard reset phone. Problem persists.
Any help please

Hi, thank you for the reply. I did some work on the device and flashed CM 12.1 via TWRP. Wifi worked good in it but I missed S Pen & S health (S Pen Helper Add-On wasn't good in CM 12.1). Hence, i searched about downgrading to 4.4 KitKat only to get back wifi and Stylus both. I have been partially successful in my effort i.e. I have flashed BTU firmware 4.4. and got the Stylus back but wifi problem persists. The wifi button simply does not turn on. It's different from the problem most people face regarding not scanning particular router or forgetting passwords etc. I am just trying to explain so that you guide me to the specific solution. I have tried short code *#0011# and turned OFF power save mode too but it didn't fix either. I liked the CM 12.1 but the trade off with Stylus was not in my favour therefore I had to revert to Stock ROM. So the current state of my device is shown in screenshots attached. Please help!

It didn't fix. Problem still persists. Wifi does not turn on at all.

I had a similar problem. I just installed this APP from playstore. It worked lke a charm. Now i connects to everything. A friend of mine also said that installing this other APP will help. You can try. :highfive:

Tried both the applications. Even rooted my phone for the second app to give it access but nothing worked. IMO these apps can only fix when the wifi button is green but the internet connectivity got some issues like resolving DNS etc. In my case, the wifi button stays grey always. It turns dull green when i tap it and goes back to grey again. From the settings menu, when I swipe the wifi icon right to turn it on, it freezes for a while and gets back to left. I can still use Wifi with Custom ROM like CM 12.1 but I can't compromise the S Pen functionality which is why I returned to Stock ROM. In Stock ROM, Data Network & Bluetooth etc. are working fine. It's just the wifi which won't Turn On at all.

Wifi sudddenly broken?
I have been using AICP nightlies and everything has been great.... I was looking around in MiXplorer and dropped my phone (pressing many buttons catching it) and now my wifi will not turn on... at first my data wasn't connected either but then I flashed the http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=11326 and l got my LTE back but still my wifi will not turn on... . Oh yeah, and it says "Google play services error" persistently... I've I also wiped dalvik cache, cache, system and restored the system i had backed up w/ TWRP . No luck. I tried dirty flashing the newest release for hltespr which was the 20150925 from today with GAPPS-LP and no luck.... Whatever I hit in MiXplorer really effed some stuff up I suppose.. I have a full backup I can flash but it was over a week ago and I will lose a bunch of work..... Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue w/out formatting and completely wiping and starting over? If I have to go back a week or two it will truly be detrimental. Thanks in advance to any kind sir who will accept this mission!!!:fingers-crossed:

WIFI Problem

First the problem is that the wifi was working normally but some times switch off automatically, i reboot the device and wifi will work again.Then i try to flash the modem and "NON_HLOS" and the bootloader now the wifi is not working i found the method here(https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/general/ref-galaxy-s4-i9505-modems-bootloaders-t3315987). is there any way to fix it.
there is 4 things are not working
1- wifi
2- Bluetooth
3- hotspot
4- IR LED

Flash the latest stock ROM and factory reset. If this doesn't fix the problem, the phone could have a hardware problem.

I did but didnt work
Im sure that its not hardware problem
i flash the non-hlos thats why im asking if there was any other non-hlos to fix it

Did wifi suddenly stop working? If yes, it could be hardware failure and software won't fix it.

no didn't stop suddenly
the wifi was working but some times stop working (when the wifi is not working the Ir LED and the Bluetooth and hotspot ) i reboot the phone if wifi works every thing will work too.
After i flash the non-hlos the wifi didn't work .

i flash the 4.4.2 and every thing working
is it a problem in the 5.0.1 or what

Is the phone running the latest stock ROM? Tried a factory wipe? Was the phone dropped?

The phone did not drop anywhere. Also I throw the factory reset (With Recovery)

It's possible that the wifi cup has failed. I have have two s4 motherboards where everything works except wifi.

I could only fix the problem by replacing the motherboard.

Wifi disconnecting random

Hi guys,
I'm having this problem with my J5 2016 stock ROM.
Wifi randomly disconnects and connects again.
Having this during whatsapp calls, updating apps via playstore (used my whole 4g data limit after wifi disconnected)
I'm clearly not the only one. But I don't find a solution anywhere.
Seems resetting doesn't help.
A lot of people mention it started after system update:

I'm a bit rusty on flashing.
Flashing this kernel means this phone stays unrooted through the proces?
Also, normally no data is lost right?

No data loss, the phone remains unrooted
