I'm making this thread to have a centralized location where people can come looking for stock OTAs and flashable monthly security patches which our device gets.
Stock 6.0 MRA58V (Thanks to @AC DC for these)
For White variant : https://r3---sn-85po58p-itqe.gvt1.c...d745d585625bd9c565ce9e80693.s031-full-ota.zip
For Gold variant : https://r3---sn-85po58p-itqe.gvt1.c...587bf89bff5bdaa8b444b398bff.s110-full-ota.zip
Security Patches :
I am putting up the link grabbing procedure for OTA updates here so that anyone can help me keep this index updated
1.When you get the notification, download the OTA but DON'T install it yet.
2. Fire up a terminal, go root, then type :
Code:
bugreport> /sdcard/ota.txt
3. This will take some time (two to three minutes). When that's done, type this in :
Code:
grep system_update /sdcard/ota.txt
4. You should see a similar screen : http://i.imgur.com/9ywII0q.jpg
5. Only common sense is needed from here on
NOTE : I manually remove all verifications from each security patch I upload here, so the signatures will be broken.
Security Patches :
WHITE VARIANT
March Security Patch : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwL6sFI5X7ahcFJZVENMU3A1ZWs/view?usp=drivesdk
April Security Patch : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwL6sFI5X7ahMEt5bXR6U2ZWZUU/view?usp=drivesdk
May Security Patch : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwL6sFI5X7ahUHhjYmktSDFwTW8/view?usp=drivesdk
June Security Patch : Google couldn't care
July Security Patch : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwL6sFI5X7ahclFHcWhTZnczcnM/view?usp=docslist_api
@aaryan45, if you can contribute links for the Gold variant it'd be great!
HOW TO INSTALL THE FULL MARSHMALLOW OTA CORRECTLY
Google shipped out a buggy updater-script with their marshmallow OTA update so you cannot simply flash it normally without any modifications. You will have to replace it with the one @AC DC provides in his thread here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/lav...-to-upgrade-to-marshmallow-bypassing-t3315319
HOW TO INSTALL A SECURITY PATCH CORRECTLY
This may not be a question for some people, but there are some *complications* you must keep in mind. I remove ALL checks from the updater script. ALL. I do it to reduce flashing time but this also increases the chance of you ending up in a bootloop. There's only one thing that has been an issue for me as of now, and that's XPOSED. Uninstall it, flash OTA, boot, and install xposed back. In my case I just wiped my system partition, then installed stock 6.0 full OTA, then March and April security patches and it worked. Please make sure to use systemless root whenever possible and REINSTALL it after each OTA or patch.

If you're using systemless root, you can restore your stock boot.img and go ahead with the security patches, otherwise it's a full system restore first. Use the full OTA links on the first post to do a full system restore if the need arises.

The updater script has to be replaced only for the OTA 5.1 -> 6.0
The terminal method is to *grab* new links of the security patches that arrive each month. The patches I provide need no changes, just download and flash.

Thanks for the appreciation! The white and gold variants differ in the button placements, since the gold variant has capacitive touch buttons at the buttom for navigation while the white variant has on screen navigation buttons. The Pixelv1 received the 6.0 OTA, then subsequent security patches upgraded it to 6.0.1 . I'm still waiting for the June patch, if you can go back to stock (I can't, testing out CM13) and see if it arrives. Use the steps in post #2 to get updated to the May security patch (you won't get June OTA without it)

We need to play with the kernel. If it was a matter of customization, applying the root patches first would have worked. As of now that hasn't worked either.

mcaserg @ 4PDA makes what I believe is the best Note 4 Kernel...
Google "4pda.ru ultimate kernel", it's topic 620217
Use chrome or something to translate the page and register...
If you get a captcha, use the google translate app on your note 4 and copy down the characters as best you can using your S-Pen...
Once you're in, there is an option to disable captcha completely for your account...
I've been using Ultimate Kernel v51 rooted on stock official 5.1.1 COH4.
You just have to install the kernel via recovery (I use TWRP), and when you tap reboot system, TWRP recovery says "SU binary not detected, install?", tap "yes"... Once booted open SuperSU and update the SU Binary.
I've attached v51, for future releases go to 4PDA... (I wont keep this thread or post updated, sorry.)
If this helped, don't hesitate to click thanks.

My mistake... Thank you, I've edited my post.

My Nexus 6P is rooted and running Android Marshmallow (6.0.1) (supposed to be systemless but not sure anymore)
I have unlocked the bootloader and have twrp as my recovery.
I have exposed framework with some modules installed and working (notification bar clock now shows the seconds and stuff like that....)
So I recently got my Nexus 6p and the first thing I did was root and install twrp via adb and fast boot so I could use exposed framework. I would like to know what my options are in receiving ota updates? I have the Android security patch from January 1, 2016 and I just got an Android system update notification that includes a newer security patch from February and I'm not sure if I can get a specific ota that is flashable through twrp or if I'll need to back up my stuff and flash stock or if there's an easier way to do this because I'd prefer to not have to set up everything all over again.
If you need me to provide any further information about my device just tell me.
---
I'm currently on build MMB29P and I have checked the Google dev page on Factory Images for Nexus Devices
And apparently MHC19I is the newest.

But with flashfire you will still lose all of your modifications like xposed apps? You have to redo it all? Anyone have a direct link to the new feb security update?

Downloaded modules should stay intact. However, I am not sure if the OTA update has library changes, that may affect Xposed installation. Anyhow, simply flashing the Xposed Installer zip will suffice.

You're absolutely correct! There is so much confusion about L and M updates. In fact, that is what this thread is about. And I did read the thread. So, to be more precise: if you just run the current OTA L update: no, you don't have to unroot. If you want to update to M you have to do that manually and unroot first.

It works most of the time if :
- You're still on LP
- Root method is 3
- Your phone was up to date with the last previous firmware.
In any case, if you end up with boot loop, just download the last full firmware from Asus support site and flash it using sideload method. Nothing will be lost but some time and maybe root access.

However, you still have to uninstall BUSYBOX and XPOSED INSTALLER if you installed them if you want the update process to be successful.

Illogical?
Jump from LP to MM is an upgrade that can lead to unexpected bugs if done without clearing cache and data. If you were a Company, would you take the risk of getting lots of customers complaints that you will have to supply support? It's better to give it as a manual procedure so only a few user supposed to know what they do, how to backup their data and apps settings, how to clean data and cache, will upgrade.

Go back to stock firmware and stock recovery, update to .184 or newer first, then flash MM .134 firmware.

It would possibly brick the device.

It's normal for stock firmware lol, not only Asus; Samsung has done the same thing too on some July updates (with August 1 security patch)

I expected more features . Besides there are still bugs .
Multiple window is much desired feature . The phone screen size is big and multiple screen would help do multiple task at the same time .

My friend , none of the Huawei updates (otas or full updates) be flashed with twrp .
Cause each ota update includes a update.app embedded in the zip , which cant be flashed with twrp .
So plz recommend the fellow members to flash it with stock recovery and also with systemless root mode

Nope , it's not system instabilities .. But you know what , the cust.img , boot.img , oeminfo.img , OEM.img related stuff will be in update.app itself .twrp recovery can't do that , all we have to do is use stocstock recovery which wil use erecovery to flash the update.app files at the same time which won't affect in anymanner

Two ways ..
1)Capturing the ota from logs .
2)Using huawei firmware finder which reads the Huawei database to check for updates

Its through firmware finder.
I'm trying to have a php crawler to improve my knowledge. So I was using http://update.hicloud.com:8180 as my Base URL.
To check my program code and bugs, I would always cross check with the Firmware Finder. During which I would find some updates which belongs to Indian Version of Honor 5X, 5C and 8. Eventually I will post it here for the people who asks for updates.

Due to Vardah cyclone, there was a infrastructural damages here which unconnected me from world for past 1 week. Just now got my signal restored. So I was checking the past 1 week updated in the hicloud.
Seems that this update was available in their server from 15th. I thought that some people would have got updated already.
Seems that there will be a rollback package released soon to downgrade from this version.
