With the Sony SW3 out in stores, and it being the first wear device with NFC, I was curious if NFC-support in Android Wear is similar to AOSP Android, in that an intent will be broadcasted when Android Wear detects an NFC-chip in range.
I've got some ideas I want to use NFC for with Android Wear, but I wasn't sure of the current supported capabilities of the platform.
Hi All,
I have recently bought a Galaxy A3 and would like to use it in my car (Siziki Vitara 2015). The car has a Mirrorlink capable head unit. When I connect the phone to it the connection is established instantly. (The phone displays the "Connecting" message during all the time it is connected, but it may be normal...)
The problem is that the only certified application deployed on the phone cannot be started on the head unit. I tried to find more applications certified for Mirrorlink but with a very little success. The only one I was able to install is the Sygic Car Navigation, which is also buggy. (it is not possible to exit from the app. on the cars display and takes over the head unit completely making all other functions useless.)
I read about applications like "Drive Link" and "Android Auto", but they are declared incompatible with my A3. (Starting a car dock application on my A3 pops up a message about completing the operation - switching to car mode - with different applications: "Car Home Ultra", "Android Auto" and "S Voice". Selecting "Android Auto" leads to an error...)
So, I am really confused about usability of Mirrorlink this time. I would like to ask you about experience with these applications. How to find more Mirrorlink certified applications like car dashboard, navigation, etc.. Is it possible to make applications like "Car Home Ultra" or "Bee-on-road" to work with Mirrorlink?
Anyway, I am interested in anything you may know about this topic.
Thanks in advance!
I struggled 3 hours to make the same phone work properly with the same HU in a 2015 Vitara. I wanted to mirror the whole phone display. No luck.. Only Sygic worked, and some mp3 player if I recall correctly.
Then I tried to connect my Z3 Compact, with same results.
Drop it for now... There are no useful apps that you can enjoy on your HU. All we can do is wait... and search furiously every day for more apps that support mirrorlink.
Hi,
I do have an A3 but I cannot have MirrorLink... on the HUD of my Yaris shows nothing. Talking to Toyota they said I should check A3 settings on "More Networks"|"MirrorLink"... however I cannot find such setting on my A3...
As you can connect to yours, do you have that setting on your A3?
Thanks,
I've seen a lot of the cheap bluetooth watches that can perform specific functions or the "stand alone" watches with built in GSM phones. Are there any chinese (read: cheaper) alternatives to "partner" Android wear watches like the Moto360, LG Urbane, etc? I would think with the abundance of alternative android phones and tablets that are available from that market, that more smartwatches running actual Android wear would start coming out as opposed to the cheap BT function watches (call, music controls, contacts, etc.).
Buler.....Buler....Wear...Wear?
Hi,
I have a 2017 Hizpo DVD player, running Android 6.0.1 on an All Winner Quad Core T3 P3 chipset with 2GB RAM. . It is getting increasingly unstable when I try to use Google Maps as a satnav, watch anything on YouTube, or listen to YTMusic. It is extremely slow to load maps, and sometimes during a navigation, it just quits... no errors, no warnings.... The same with YouTube apps. It also randomly pops up saying Google Play Services has encountered a problem and needs to close.
I have attached a couple of photos of the MCU, OS and Linux versions. I have already tried to find whether I can update this unit, but the MCU version doesn't look anything like the references I have come across. I guess I am wondering if it is worth updating, or if it should be filed and I invest in a new one...
Thanks...
Hi, does anyone know how to disable ksw Bluetooth? I can only add phone using their overlay tool, the android native built in Bluetooth is disabled and blocked by kswcarproject.
My goal is to add an Xbox gaming controller , I would rather use the native android Bluetooth settings if I can or unlock ksw BT to allow any device to connect to the HU. With ksw BT I have tried both pin code 0000 and 1234 without success, the error message I get is paring failed or rejected.
thanks !!
am I the only one having this issue to pair a non phone device to android Head unit ? There must be someone else who solved this.
I think it's more the opposite, all these headunits are crippled around the BT and only support phones and some OBD2 devices. Not sure anyone has a solution outside of totally custom firmware.
getting access to setting is not the issue, that's simple enough, it's that the BT is crippled at lower level.

here is what my tests show. If I restart the unit and quickly get into applications and terminate running applications kswcarproject and ksw BT, I get around 1 minute to enable Bluetooth in android and I can search for devices, I find my Bluetooth devices but somehow kswcarproject or any other service is deactivating native Bluetooth and I don’t have enough time to pair any unit. However this is evidence that the technology is capable, we just need to investigate how to disable services or whatever task that is forcing native bluetooth off after reboot. But I do not have knowledge in android infrastructure , but I can help in running tests and dig out logs
You can install default android settings or launchers like CarWebGuru or Nova give you these settings, there you get full BT settings, scan, probably even pair your device, but it won't connect and work. I found this on my IDoing UIS7862(FYT). BT is crippled. I believe they have done the same with 4g SIM connections.
It does work here is the evidence that it works:
And how to do it:

Bluetooth is, yes, “crippled” after the device is completely booted up. So we just need to identify what service is blocking or crippling Bluetooth.
Hello guys,
I recently purchased a car that has the Qualcomm snapdragon 625 msm8953 NBT headunit for BMW 7 series (Native Android 10 unit).
I have tried everything to connect carplay but Zlink keeps saying waiting and won't take my iPhone.
I have read online that i need to update the firmware of the device, the version I have is KSW-Q-Userdebug_OS_v2.0.0.
Can someone please tell me where i can find the firmware update for free.
Thank you,
