Double tap screen to unlock?

Hi All
Just purchased a P8 and must say so far it has been impressive. However since the P8 has no fingerprint scanner like the mate 7, i had assumed that the P8 would comes with the 'double tap' screen to unlock gesture same as which exists in huawei G7. Is there anyway to get this feature?

Within the Emui OS it does not appear to offer this function.
The only way that I know of that you could get this to work is by unlocking bootloader, rooting, and installing TricksterMod, then setting double tap to wake within that app.
Worked perfect on my old phone.. should work fine with the P8 as well.

Anyone already tried this on the P8?

If Huawei would send me a bloody unlock code I could answer that for you :/

I don't think that it's that easy. I would think, that it can only be activated of it is implemented in the kernel.

I am on the EMUI 3.1 5.1.1 BETA and there's a feature for double tap to wake.

Shouldn't be too long I'd hope, as Honor has been sending out press releases saying it's inviting people to test 5.1 for devices, and they're all on KitKat, so I'd assume the P8 will get 5.1 soon too.
I am amazed double tap isn't an option on the P8 given it is on so many other Huawei/Honor devices running EMUI3.0. Did they just forget or something?

How is the double tap to wake on battery life. Any noticeable drain with or without using this feature?

it DOES drain bcos screen is still in power

I use it on my mate 7 you just tap on proximity sensor

Maybe I wasn't clear in my previous post.
I miss the double tap feature that was on the Find 7, which I can now enjoy on the P8.

B153 is the latest official firmware for UL00.
B141 is at least a month old now.

i tried this syte and found it working with mate 8 like my old p8max
just make facebook account and sign in with it and get the unlock code

Hi there,
You just provided the link to the standard Huawei bootoader unlock site, which gives you an unlock code provided you have been logged into the Huawei Club for 14 days.
Sorry to say, but this is nothing new.

I made facebook account and loged in with it and got the unlock code in 2 seconds
No need to have club account just facebook one

Hi there,
Well, sorry to bring it to you but I have just verified and it doesn't work unless you have been logged in with Huawei Club ID (through site or phone) for at least 14 days.
The site you link to even says so, after having submitted all the asked info on your Mate 8.
The Huawei ID used to apply for the unlock code has not been used on the device for more than 14 days.

For some lucky guys from certain countries, it works. For rest, it will always fail

Huawei Honor Note 8

Hi there I have a Huawei Honor Note 8. I've owned it for 4 weeks and I LOVE this phone. I don't have auto-update enabled on the Google Play Store so I do it manually and it worked until today. When I clicked update (there were 16 updates available and I only chose 15) it just sat there saying it was downloading but it wasnt. It went an hr and nothing still. The little icon kept on twirling around and each app individually kept saying downloading but nothing. It once did download but not now. So I went to the permissions in the settings and everything was still checked. Also, contacts stopped synching so I went to accounts and went to sync to do it manually and when I clicked sync all, it just sat there and nothing happened as if it were frozen. I knew I was taking a chance by ordering something from out of the country but everything worked fine the first few weeks.
I read that a system update came out and that people were having issues with their bluetooth connections after the update so I didnt accept any updates from Huawei in fear of those few comments. Do you think that has something to do with it and should I always accept system updates from huawei?
Confused but in LOVE with this device, best device I've ever owned. Im in the USA by the way if that matters. Also, browsing the web with wifi works fine so the wifi isnt the problem.

Today I was talking with my friend who also has p10 lite, and I saw she had a recently deleted photos folder and I don't. Is there anyway to enable it?

I don't have this option either. I have the Vodafone/Vodacom version C02B133, and although I've seen it available in Europe, it's not available for me. I really do not think this is region dependent, since my husband who has the Mate 10 Pro, with Vodacom branding, has this option.
I'm really not sure how to enable it, but it would be great if it was possible.

Today I got the Xiaomi Mi A2.
I bought it from Amazon (eu, global rom: reseller = A-MONTAIN)

the package was sealed etc. so IDK how this happened,
I didn't see anything at first, unfortunately I didn't take a screenshot but on the stock launcher apps weren't visible, I was able to see them when I installed Nova Launcher,
It was a green Turkish app that served I dont know what purpose, and other two were Mi Apps that didn't show in stock launcher, I uninstalled all of them, too bad I didn't think about taking a screenshot before.

My phone is from A-Mountain and I did not have any bloadware, my be those app are instaled from any other app you install.
