Does anyone know what is new other than May 1 security update?
You can find the description here. I haven't noticed any real changes yet.

What method is that? I've tried enabling wifi tethering as soon as the phone boots up, setting it up as open / no security and no luck..
This crushes my battery since i took it. I tried to downgrade but is that even possible?

Just got the update. Don't know yet what's new.
Nothing visible so far, maybe some optimization and fix for the screen bug.
Only difference I can spot is that the network type (H/4G/LTE etc.) is now placed on the left of the reception bar instead of above it.

That didn't change for me though. I'm on E5803 Malaysian firmware. All I noticed was that the animations are faster and the apps are opening faster. That's it. Also no issues with auto brightness so far

FM radio is working fine now
No change to GUI whatsoever (CE version)
Tried Antutu benchmark after this update and score was 75601. Finally a decent score without putting the phone into freezer

I just upgraded too.
The default SMS app now has stickers(You actually have to download Sketch from the play store)
and there are some new quick share options at the popup menu that appears when you share a file.
Also, it says something about a revamped camera ui but I see nothing different....

Actually I had two updates. One in the morning - and FM radio worked.
Then another in the afternoon and FM radio broke again ...
Sorry for a bad news ...
I think with .185 update low light photos just got even worse in SA, instead of bluish tint now i got purple ones :S
I hope this fixes the wired and bluetooth audio stuttering.
In Lollipop you couldn't get system software updates OTA if you were rooted, but I just got a notification that this version is ready to install... I'm running rooted 32.1.A.1.163. Will I lose root if I install? Will it install at all? Thanks in advance if anyone knows.

If your bootloader is unlocked, then the only way to update, is to flash it via flashtool. OTA or PC Companion won't work

I tried updating with root and it failed. I also want to know if root is possible with thia update.
I'm using a rooted phone myself - while I use the DRM key emulation I know OTA updates will most likely fail so I will perform the upgrade manually.
Would anyone please check the Android security patch level?
If you go to System Settings - About phone. One entry says "Android security patch level" which is February 1st on the .163 version. Did this one increase maybe?
If so, it would be worth the hassle with Flashtool and rerooting and such for me to upgrade.
Does anyone know if there are any Foxfi compatibility issues with Foxfi and the new update, software version MMB29M.G930VVRURAPI3?
Foxfi no longer works with the nougat beta.
However the usb/bluetooth seems to work. Just no wifi hotspot anymore.
Thanks for the reply but I wasn't asking about Nougat. I was wondering if the latest update for marshmallow works with Foxfi?

It does. I use it every day.

I can't seem to replicate it on my clean wiped phone but when I upgraded from Marshmallow to Nougat initially, foxfi worked great (AND no repeated warnings on boot about the VPN cert). After clean wipe on second nougat beta though, I couldn't get it passed the certificate installation check (though it looked like the certs were installed just fine). And now some time later, when I check the box it just says unsupported for my phone :/ Maybe foxfi can figure it out once we are out of beta. I also was somehow able to trick the hotspot feature in Android settings.. When I tapped away from the "you need a subscription" popup somehow the tether actually kicked on. I can't seem to replicate this now though
Does anyone know why there are no forums for this tablet?
Are there any suggestions for rooting?

I was wondering the same thing. There is another thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/asus-zenpad-z10-zt500kl-verizon-t3494106
I also found a recent article regarding unlocking the bootloader here: http://unlockbootloader.top/2016/11/asus-zenpad-z10-zt500kl-8370.html
If you have the tablet and are willing to try, I would greatly appreciate it. Me buying this tablet hinges on if it can be unlocked and/or rooted.

Yeah Idk about that site. Very skeptical about downloading anything from unknown places and people.

I see that Nougat has been released. Hoping that someone can find some sort of exploit so we can get root at least.

Does anyone have trouble updating this tablet to Nougat? I don't have a sim card in it. Trying to update through the tablet, it just keeps saying it has trouble checking system updates, try again when I have Verizon 4G connection. (I'm only connected through Wifi.) The behavior seems to suggest that it needs to be registered on Verizon network to check updates. Using the update assistant software just says the tablet is up-to-date; probably checking against the latest version posted on Asus' support site. I also do not have any sim card inside it. I factory reset this and reflash by Software Upgrade Assistant. But, It does not update to Nougat.
Just got a notification tonight about downloading and updating my Sprint HTC 10 to 2.51.617.2.
Has anyone received this update yet? I'm unlocked with Magisk root and don't want to go thru the update if it's going to break Safetynet (again!).
I got the notification too, but I have not allowed it to go in so far.
The update is actually 2.51.651.2 and is July 2017 security update. I did it yesterday without issues.

It is only the security updates? It is 802MB! That is a lot of security! I doubt it would go in on mine anyway as I have too many system modifications.

And "Performance enhancements" too, whatever they may be, as it had no further details on them.
For me, it broke the fingerprint sensor. It now works to unlock the phone only within the first 5 minutes or so after turning it off. After that, I have to use the pattern. It's like the sensor gets disabled during low-power suspend, but turning the screen on doesn't wake it back up. This started immediately after I received the update.

We're you able to take the OTA with root and/or TWRP? Have you experienced any adverse effects?

I took it OTA. I just got the phone a month ago and have only sim unlocked it, no root or twrp. Everything seems to be working fine still since the update.
I was unable to take the update with root and TWRP.

I'm interested to know, too. Is it a fluke or coincidence that I might fix with a factory reset, or is anyone else seeing the same thing? If I'm going to reset anyway, might be time to go ahead and root it.

It happened to mine. Sometimes the scanner works, most times it doesn't.
Anyone know where I can get the 2.42.651.63 recovery to flash? I want to take the OTA but I did not backup the stock recovery when I flashed TWRP after the last update.

Same issue here. I really don't want to reset the device to find out if it helps. I was hoping yesterday's update, 2.5.651.11 would fix it but it didn't.

I downloaded the 2.42.651.63 firmware zip, but am unable to open it. 7-zip says its not a valid zip file.
Since manually installing this update, I can no longer change my SMS Notification sound using the stock SMS app.. No matter what I change it to, it still uses the default system sound. Any ideas how to fix this, without switching SMS apps?

I tried everything from Sprint's based release. Fingerprint sensor issues everytime. On Leedroid's latest release. It's not firmware related, it's software. Something Sprint put in is messing with fingerprint sensor from sleep.

Received the official update and flashed without issue. I keep getting WiFi connected, no internet response from my wifi connection to my home router. Turning wifi on and off allows it to connect correctly for a minute or two - then back to no internet.
The wifi icon has the exclamation mark beside it highlighting an issue
I've downgraded to last official Marshmallow release through Odin twice now and am back on it now - no wifi issues.
Anyone else with similar issue or potential fix ?
Thanks in advance,

Got same issue after Nougat OTA on my phone, here is the thread I made with more details:

Didn't manage to solve it yet , how did you solved it?

I downgraded back to 6.0 through Odin - no issues at this time. Tried OTA update twice, downgraded. Took a chance and downloaded the software from Sammy and flash via Odin, no luck so we'll see what happens.
At least I have a useable tablet on 6.0

I had the same issue and I think the update has an issue with radio bands because when I used Odin to downgrade back to Lollipop, the problem was gone.
Was checking Sammobile and noticed an update from 12-28 for the XAC Canadian Variant. This latest update appears to have resolved my WiFi issues.
Thanks,
