T-Mobile s7 edge vibration stopped working - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

Recently my tmpbile s7 edge vibration features have stopped working. This includes all my notifications and haptic feedback. I checked all the setting and everything is on. I even restarted and wiped it. Anyone else have this issue??

Your vibration motor or whatever its call, became defective... not much more to add. Time for a warranty exchange.
I've seen this happen on numerous phones.

I figured out I had vibration intensity all the way down in sounds and vibration settings. Silly me. Happy to not have to do a warranty anything!

Hate the vibration every time I use active display, want it to go away for good.

I just got the Moto X (republic wireless) and love the device so far but one thing is bugging the hell out of me : the haptic vibration every time I use active display
I've gone into settings -> active display or settings -> sound, but see no option on how to turn off the vibration every time active display comes on and I press on the screen
Also when you press the actual power button to turn on the display so you can then unlock the device it doesn't vibrate.
If anyone knows how to turn off this first world problem I'd appreciate it
p.s. Yes... I already know I'm OCD
AFAIK, this has been talked about and its not possible to disable the vibration....yet
Is this a Republic Wireless thing? I have a custom Moto X and it does not vibrate when I use active display.
My Verizon Moto X aways vibrates when I unlock from active display.

Mine is TMo variant customized from Moto maker, but it does vibrate every time when the screen is unlocked by swiping down the notification icon and there's no way out to disable the vibtation so far.

I have the t-mobile version as well. Maybe I'm mistaken and it does vibrate when swiping down. I checked and it does have a very slight vibration when swiping down on the notification icon. It's a very soft quick vibration. So soft that I did not notice it. It doesn't bother me. The vibration in my Moto X is not that good.

wow..mine is very subtle. I can hardly feel it in my front pocket when I get a call. I have read posts on here from members that there are big differences in vibration intensity from one unit to another..our case in point. I guess you have to go through a few to find the perfect one.

My Verizon Moto X is very subtle with the active display. It's delightful as far as actual feedback goes but then again I hardly notice it. I'm confused whether it's me or different Moto xs being different, though I doubt that. The vibrate is a vibrate though it's more of a rumble.

Again, I get nothing near this that sounds like a different phone to me. Mine is set to vibrate and ring but it wouldn't bounce off a counter that's ridiculous. I've been awoke by vibration calls before but the phone doesn't 'move' on my nightstand.

I know a few people said they disabled all vibration options, but there are a bunch. One to check might be under security settings for haptic feedback (you can get it when you enter your PIN) and also the haptic feedback for the softkeys. Even if some are OFF, try toggling them on and back off again.
there's no setting for this. I've turned off every vibration setting possible.
Interesting, I never have that issue with my republic wireless moto x. I do get a vibrate and active display comes up if I have a new notification though.

There is a haptic feed back when you press softkeys. you might be pushing them.

When you mean vibration. Do you mean in your pocket? If you get the vibration/boom feeling then that the vibrating motor. Hope this helps.

it doesn't really vibrate but it kinda feels like its moving when tapped with your nails.
Yeah I have the same feeling, like its on "haptic Vibro" but thats not enabled, yet still feels like a slighter Vibrate when hitting some keys?
I think I know what he means...
Its not a feedback from the vibrator at all -- I sometimes tap on my Note when I'm listening to music, like I'm playing a drum solo with my fingers
There is a faint vibration when I do that.
I always assumed it was just one of the sensors vibrating in response to my enthusiastic taps. Who knows, the shock sensor, the vibrator itself?
Anyway, I don't think its anything wrong or broken.
I don't think there is a problem... it happened with my note 2, but always worked well and flawlessly
I get it occasionally and gave up with it.

Hi!
A lady friend of mine has this problem on a GSIII.
She broke her screen and since i had a GSIII with dead mainboard i moved her mainboard to the other phone. Main camera & all.
The phone now works perfectly but has accuired the "vibrate when tapping" issue.
Personally i´d say that the vibrating camera module is a solid bet. Production tolerances might be a little on the loose side in the new camera/screenframe combo and there is a short unsupported flex cable from main board to camera module.
If i understand this particular issue correctly you dropped your phone a while back. This just might have knocked the camera module a bit around so it now sits a smidgeon more loosely in the camera bay.
If it really bothers you, a solution could be to disassemble your phone and try thightening the tolerances in the camera mount by adding small pieces of e.g. sticky tape on sides or bottom. If nothing else you´d be able to confirm or discard the camera module as the "culprit".
Personally though i wouldn´t worry about it, as long as everything hums along nicely with this particular handset.

hello! thanks for your long reply, this happened before I dropped my device, so I reckon it isn't because of the drop! it works flawlessly, but do you think I should take it over to Samsung? or is it not an issue?

About the drop - oh yeah, you stated that earlier, my bad.
I´d leave it alone.
If the phone is still under warranty you could try taking it to a service center but then you´ll have to demonstrate there is an issue.
As everything works as it should that might be easier said than done.

Galaxy S7 Edge - Touchscreen overly sensitive ~ reacts without touching screen!

Hello folks,
February 29, 2016 I received my T-Mobile S7 Edge, and it was bliss, but I always though the touch was very odd. I couldn't put my finger on it. Then today while scrolling through the web, I noticed I kept touching things I didn't mean to. I though, it's just the edge screen and I need a case to help mitigate this. Put the phone down on my wooden table and continued to scroll and it kept happening.
After downloading a touchscreen tester app, I noticed that I can make the phone react without actually touching the screen. Like 0.5 mm to 1 mm away from the screen. It's especially noticeable when I'm scrolling and slowly lift my finger, it continues to scroll.
Do I have a defective unit? Or is this something I need to adjust?
I've already tried the TSP Update and it succeeded, but nothing changed. It's still reacts the same.
Appreciate any assistance on this.

Yea that's a weird issue. Ik on past phones there was like a glove mode to increase the sensitivity. I'm not sure if s7 has it but if it does maybe it's worth looking into if it got toggled somehow

Unfortunately I don't think that's the case here.
I am wondering if it's the same issues that happened with the S6!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/help/touchscreen-s6-sensitive-t3073953
Perhaps it affects certain people's biology. I'm just pulling anything out of my hat of logic lol. I'll play with some in stores tomorrow and see if it's something that follows me around or if it's just the phone's technology.
I appreciate your insight.
Have you tried a factory reset? Always the last thing to try. You never know.
Sometimes i'm filling same thing. But most of the time it seems that I just touching egde screens without noticing it .

You think you've got issues
I wonder if it's because you are touching the sides. The edges seem a bit more sensitive on the S7 than the S6, and I notice that because of the curved back, you are touching/holding the edges more than you did on the old phone. I have to use it more to confirm if this is an issue, but I did notice it while playing with it for a few hours last night setting everything up.

I've noticed the same thing. I thought I was crazy when trying to type and getting weird letters that randomly appeared! If it's happening on multiple units then it's probably a bug not necessarily a defective phone.

Right! I experience it even when not holding it. I can make it happen without holding the phone and it's consistently doing it. It's overly sensitive for sure. I'm thinking about making a quick video of it but it may be difficult to see and it may be challenging to do and record at the same time.

I mean I could but I don't think that's a thing since Galaxy S6.
But if you know of where they are I would like to turn them off lol. I have slowly became accustomed to it, but it still annoys.
I plan on visiting T-Mobile and Best Buy tomorrow to see if the demo units experience this.
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Is anyone else experiencing touch screen oddities? or is it just few vs the many?
So I went to Best Buy and wasn't able to get the demo units to do the same thing my phone is doing. I showed the Samsung guy (which I'm pretty sure is on Best Buy's payroll) and he was surprised by it as well. He said his S7 wasn't doing it, but he thought maybe it was an Edge issue.
Long story short, I called T-Mobile and they're shipping me a new one.
Here's hoping the next one doesn't have this issue.
Don't have mine yet, but might be worth posting your specifications up. They post phone, color, where it was made, screen manufacturer, chip-set, etc.
In the past when there were issues like this, it helped to narrow down if it was a particular hardware combination. Also, a video would certainly help. Just my 2 cents.

Always On Display not changing position?

After the new update (baseband ending in PC8) I've noticed that the position of the clock in the Always On Display is not changing.
Earlier, it used to move around on the screen, but not anymore. I've rebooted, changed clocks nothing.
Anyone else with this issue? Is it best to disable this for now?

Kinda working now
A couple of reboots later, it seems to be moving around though not as often as it used to.
I can now turn off the screen using the power button and turning it on moves the AOD - but only if there is some gap from the last time you turned it off.
I can confirm that the last update broke AOD for me as well. Stays in one spot.
Also, it never gets bright anymore. Even in sunlight. Had to shut AOD off.
Guess Always On display was updated on my phone. I tried it and lol its worse. Now it will just turn off after some minutes haha

Yeah, the latest AOD update didn't fix much for me. We should be getting a new system update coming down the pipeline soon. Hopefully that fixes it.
I've actually seen the new AOD update fix it. It moves only 1pxl a minute and while random area every hour. Might actually save some battery while providing the same functionality.

Yeah its quite ****. Had to turn it off so that I don't end up burning my screen. But what's funny is that it just happened very suddenly. Like one second it was fine and suddenly it wasn't.
Before the update there were multiple of colors Neon Blue and Hot Pink, now after the update there is only one color, neon Blue.
Can anyone else please confirm this for me.

Pixel XL issues and defects

Probably not the best type of thread but it's for anyone who has faced any issues or defects with Pixel XL. When I'm expected to fork out £819 for a top end of phone I don't really expect any types of defects.
Overall I'm quite pleased with the phone but I've noticed the pulse notification light is bit odd. Green colour is perfect but red or orange colours show as white and pink!!!
I'm sure that's not how it's supposed to be?
I've reported this to google who are looking into it and will get back to me.
Anyone else tested any features which aren't as expected or noticed any defects please let us know.
The power button feels weird, like it doesn't wanna press unless I push a certain way. Might be just me, though
There's a dead pixel on the left hand side of my screen. I've tried to ignore it, but it's really bothering me. I think I'm just going to return it and hope that the replacement doesn't take months to arrive.

Going into settings, notifications then tap on the settings icon and toggle on pulse notification light.
Took me a while to figure.
I couldn't find option to change colour so installed light manager to switch between different colours.

There's a dead pixel on the left hand side of my screen. I've tried to ignore it, but it's really bothering me. I think I'm just going to return it and hope that the replacement doesn't take months to arrive.

From now on, a dead pixel sounds so much worse than it is...

Is anyone having problems with very slow 4G speeds? Compare to my Samsung Galaxy S7 and the speed on this phone for the 4G networks is very slow I wonder why that is
is there anyway to get a charging LED? always liked to be able to see how charged my phone is by a quick glance without having to keep turning the screen on.

No I was making a joke lol
I can't make claims about heat yet. I'm sitting in a car with the a/c blasting on the backside of it while charging. Lol
After some exhaustive testing against my Samsung Galaxy S 7 Edge I concluded that the upload speed using 4G with the pixel XL is about 10% of that of the Galaxy S 7 Edge I wonder why that is and I hope that it will be an update to the modem that will fix this problem I would love to hear from the rest of you what kind of upload speeds you are getting using the 4G network with your new pixel XL phone thank you very much for your help

Mine is actually a tiny bit higher than my wife's note 5. My download was a 1.5 slower though. Same server same network. This is on Verizon btw.
