Freezing cause by unlocking bootloader stops - Zenfone 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Freezing cause by unlocking bootloader stops when you deactivate to cores using kernel adiutor however your camera wont work (based on my phone) but it will if your turn on 4 cores.. Im still not sure im monitoring it if it still freezes. Current record is a day and counting without freeze in RR rom.
Note: I just saw this on some of my Fb group i just forgot who posted it because i cannot see it anymore. So the credit is for him im just sharing and might help those who have the same problem as me.:good:

basicly, you're trying to avoid cpu overload right? waiting for your result after 2 or 3 days.

You should test it for at least 2 days without no reboots at all

Battery drain on 3.2 Roms

Hi all,
I've tried just about all the 3.2 roms and all of them seem to have the same issue where the rest mode is interrupted often, screen turns on by itself.
Is it one of my apps that could be causing this, or does everyone see this type of issue?
Anyone have an idea how i can track down the cause, in the case of an app being the problem ?
I could try turning off Wifi at night to see if the drain continues , and see if its an app that is connecting regularly....

Some apps like TrafficInfo can help you monitoring which apps/processes use your bandwith. It can give you some clues if a specific app is draining your battery.
Same problem for me..
I have tested all 3.2 Acer based ROM, only solution for me is Airplane Mode..
I have also had this problem with my Iconia. After I flashed the Kernel below, I have had no problems with the screen turning on by itself. I have only used it a few days, but untill now is good.
I don't know if this kernel work with OC/UV since I don't use it.
I found the kernel in the [KERNEL] Stock/HV/Taboonay thread.

I've been having the same issues after trying Taboonay-2.2, thor and someone elses ROM. Have tried airplane mode, disable wifi when screen off etc.
I'm going to flash back to a 3.1 ROM and see if there is a difference or if I'm imagining things.
Same here too!
After I switched to diff ROM, my Tablet is not shutting down anymore.

Funny, but I haven't had that problem since 3.01, but then again I have my tab set to disconnect wifi when screen goes off. Not sure if it's the ROM, or my settings.

Had mine set to that for the last 3 days or so and at times it's perfect for hours then other times it's on/off every few minutes so I don't think it's a setting problem.

Turn airplane mode on (this will disconnect your wifi), then reconnect wifi.
Set wifi disconnect policy to "when screen turns off".
Using the settings listed above, I've never had my tab wake up prematurely, never frozen from wake up, etc.

Mobile Radio active bug in Lollipop

I'm getting this bug in every Lollipop Phone I own. And sadly this bug seems to be present in the M Developer preview too.
Usually my day starts with wifi but as soon as I leave the wifi connection and start using 3G the battery starts to drain.
It has gotten so annoying that I switched back to KitKat and my phones are awesome again.
Present for me on Z3 and S4

I noticed this today. Was using WiFi screen was at about 36% use and Android OS at about 6%. Switched to Mobile data, And before 30 minutes, screen was at 28% and Android OS was 30%+
Crazy really! Don't know if a reboot would fix. Back on WiFi tho and it seems normal again.
The above comment was made by me, my friend logged into his xda on my phone and i didn't know, when i knew it was too late.
Basically every app that uses mobile radio keeps the connection active and drains the battery fast.
As seen in the battery tab with "mobile radio active" for hours.
At first I switched to lollipop I thought its just an "feature" but its the bad bug.
Especially for people who doesn't charge their phone for days because of light usage

I take it you are on CM now?
The Z3 is now .77 stock KitKat, the s4 is CM11 M11
Thats what it should look like:

so, overall, the power consumption in KK is way better than in L? [assuming similar usage]
cause i bought this phone already on L...
On WiFi it's as good as Kitkat, the problem starts when you have mobile data enabled, from what I hear the issue carried on into the test builds of Android M.
Phonearena even did an article on the issue, and it has the 3rd or 4th most votes on Google 's bug tracker yet it's still labeled as small priority... I hope Sony fixes it by itself somehow.

Stopping the newest OTA

Connected to WiFi today and my phone started downloading the update. Turned off wifi and it stopped at 25%
I would take this Ota but it prevents KitKat roll back. Is there anyway to stop it short of Permenantly staying on 4G?
Also, does anyone have the modem from the latest OTA?
Sent from my SM-N900V using XDA Free mobile app
The latest OTA is horrible. My note 3 won't get anything higher than 2 bars on 4G and it seems to lag a bit with performance. The battery went from almost 18 hours on a single charge with constant use to 4 hours... if I'm lucky. I've hard reset, discharged, recharged, and nothing replaces the battery drain. I think it's a con by Verizon to get Note3 users to buy a new phone. I don't recommend it, although they did supposedly patch for that silly MMS vulnerability going around. Sad times for Note 3 users... and getting worse.

3 hour battery life. Max!

My V20 sucks electrons faster than a Hemi sucks hi-test. I am very diligent about shutting down apps when I am done with them and making sure the screen stays off. What I have noticed, though, is that, when I look at the "Apps" to see if there is any single one that seems to really be the biggest offender, I find that Quick Memo + (which I have NEVER even opened) accounts for, sometimes, up to 10% of the battery drain between charges... I always Force Stop it when I am there, but, in a couple hours, it will be reporting that it has used 5% - 10% of the charge. Is there any way to shut the damned app down permanently without rooting (I don't have the time to get that far into the phone...)?

Which v20? If the H918, flash my 6.5 ROM.
If H910, wait for the new update tonight (hopefully).
If US996, flash my 5.5 ROM. (update coming at some point)
If VS995, flash my 5.5 ROM. (update coming at some point)
Each device mentioned has its own thread and ROM+kernel.
It's an H910, locked to AT&T.
You can uninstall quick memo+ though I find it weird that it takes that much battery.
You may also want to look into using greenify which can shutdown apps when the screen gets turned off. Made a huge difference on my son's g4.

i had a really short battery life also until i finally switched to a custom rom now my phone last 12+ hours and that's with being on it a lot. including games, streaming music, video's, and calls, text, and lastly web surfing sometimes. Using a custom ROM really fixed my battery problem maybe you guys should try this also. just a friendly suggestion.
Checked on my h910 and quickmemo+ is indeed taking up a crazy amount. I don't think you can disable or uninstall through system either, going to try Greenify. I really want to root my phone but I'm going to be trading it back to ATT in a year and I need to be able to go back fully to stock.

Capture+ is part of Quickmemo+ so it's probably always loaded and ready to take screenshot. Maybe try removing the shortcut on second screen if it is there?

Has my battery degraded or its a software issue?

My battery lately has been draining really fast from doing minor tasks. 2-3 months ago I upgraded to the latest MIUI 11.0.4 and noticed a slight increase in drainage but nothing too concerning. For the past few days though, it has become really bad. An example is how today I charged my phone to 100 percent and within 8 hours it is now already down to 75 as I am writing this post.
What I did:
Charged it.
Left it idle for 4 hours
Browsed some Facebook feed for around 15 minutes
Watched YouTube videos for a total of 15-20 minutes
Left idle again for another 2 hours
Just now spent another 20 browsing some Reddit posts
I usually keep my mobile data as well as the WiFi connection turned off all the time and only turn them on when I need to use the phone. I don't have any IM apps running in the background all the time syncing messages except Kik and Snapchat for whom I've set a battery saving modes to close whenever not in use but again, like I said my internet connection is always switched off. I keep my screen brightness low all the time as well btw.
I usually charge it as soon as it goes down to 30-40%
Pretty sure tomorrow after a whole day of work having it sit idle and then doing some minor internet browsing its gonna drop to 30-40.
Here's a screenshot of my battery stats:

Not sure if this is normal as I remember it draining way slower than it does nowadays. I know that this phone is known for having a good battery life. Any suggestions on what I should do? Is there warranty for the battery in case it turns out to be faulty? I've been using this phone for a little over 6 months now.
I have terrible wakelock on 11.0.4.0.

Is it a common issue and should I go back to MIUI 10?

Hi, bro!
I had this wakelock in all versions (Android 8 or 9) I tried several times to find out which app does this, installing monitors made for it and so far nothing ... But yesterday I reset my RN7 and the wakelock didn't come back. I imagine it is an app that has not yet performed the initial configuration.
switch aosp(no gapps recommended)
i get 12 hours plus sot

Multiple apps. Of course I tried to fix it by deleting a couple of apps such as restricting the background activity in the most of the rest but I only succeeded to reduce the wakelock from 98% to 50%. The bad thing is, that if You do hard reset it's a temporary solution. Wakelock will return in maximum one month. So what is the solution? Returning to Miui 10 or AOSP rom if You want to run latest Android version?
