I'm having somewhat of a issue as to sending/receiving texts and emails when I install some of the latest ROM's. Which would be the AllianceROM, PhoenixROM, and both the Note5 ROM's. If i send myself a test text message and email it takes a good many seconds before sending and about a minute or more for me to receive the messages. When i run MOAR or the Stang5litre ROM's, they send and receive within seconds. They're all on the same firmware and it did this before and after unlocking the bootloader. Didn't know if anyone has experienced the same issue and may know of the reason or of a fix. Thank you in advance

Is anyone experiencing timestamp issues with their Hero?
I sent an SMS at 8.20 am, and when I got the reply at 8.23 am, it shows the message arriving at 8.13 am, and is displayed above my message in Messages.
Does anyone know of a fix for this?
Apparently fixed in new Dream/Magic ROMS that are just out http://www.htc.com/ca/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=270&cat=2&dl_id=653.
Haven't found Hero ROM yet, but assuming it has similar fixes.
Hey, thanks for the quick reply!
I've just been doing some testing and here's the weird part -- I don't get timestamp issues if I send and receive SMS messages between 2 SIMs on the same network. But if I receive SMS messages from other operators, the timestamp is off by a few minutes.
This has me wondering if my operator's SMSC's clock is off. Will have to check
Recently installed the 1.1 rom Yoshi, and was functioning well, it happens that I stop getting sms, I send without problems, but do not receive the sms.
If I send to myself, I get, if other people do not get.
Someone had the same problem?
Thanks for help
I believe this is just a problem with gingerbread running on devices with low memory. I had this problem too and fixed it by downloading Ghostly SMS from the market. It's annoying that you will have two sms notifications for the same message but at least you won't miss anything.
I'm having an issue after I got the VZW OTA GB update. SMS's are not going into a conversation mode, they are coming up as 2 seperate texts in my SMS list. It only seems to happen when I initiate a message to someone and they reply. If they send me one first and I reply(without any prior messages from that person in my SMS list), it seems fine. Anyone else having this issue?
That sounds frustrating, but I can help. If you have a Twitter account, please contact me @VZWSupport. You can also contact our Customer Service or Technical Support teams @ 800-922-0204 for a resultion. I look forward to hearing from you!

I have a friend with the X on the stock GB rom, but rooted, that is having a similar problem. It takes a long time to send sms even with full bars. He is using the handcent app.
I am having it as well. I guess the only way to fix it for now is delete both threads before you get a reply and than when the person gets back to you it will be fixed.
As you all now, we can't send sms to more than 20 people at a time. To solve that problem, I downloaded handcent app and I'm able to use group sms now. But, I had two really big problems with messaging.
1) I always receive this message asking me if I want to allow:
"Messaging is sending a large amount of SMS messages. Do you want to allow this app to continue sending messages?"
The thing is, I receive this notification for at least 5 times in a row, while I'm sending group messages and it's just unbearable.
2) I sometimes receive notification from handcent that my messages are not delivered and those times, it's almost 10 messages, making the phone unusable for me. I read that it's a problem with smsc settings, but I receive "This application does not work on this device." error when I want to go to Phone info. My service center address is correct, so I don't know if that is the problem.
I really want to solve this issues, so here is my question. If I install a custom rom, will it solve the "not being able to send to more than 20 people at a time" problem for me, therefore solving all my other problems? And if so, will any custom rom will do, or should I install something specific.
Sorry to keep it long, thanks in advance.
Initial Notes:
Using a rooted Verizon S5 with stock KitKat ROM (NK2), but this problem also persisted on a rooted Lollipop ROM (OA8).
This problem persists on the stock messaging app as well as all messaging apps I have downloaded from the Play Store so it seems to be an issue with the phone itself. I'm currently using Chomp.

Problem:
For the longest time, my MMS messages would come and go at what seemed to be the most random times, but I've finally come to notice that the only way I can get an MMS (including group texts) to send or receive is if I send more than 1 at a time.
For example, if I try to send my wife a single pic, it will hang indefinitely, literally for days sometimes. However, if I send another pic to ANYONE (including myself), the pic that was 'stuck' waiting to send to my wife will then finally send.
Also, if I long-press the stuck outgoing MMS, and choose 'resend' it will usually send, but then the recipient also gets 2 copies.
I've also noticed that when the stuck MMS finally does send, I frequently RECEIVE multiple pics or group messages from friends who sent them long ago. It's as if successfully sending an MMS from my phone has somehow unlocked a stuck setting somewhere in the network, which then allows all existing MMS to send/receive.
Also, I've noticed that if I attempt to send 3 pic messages, sometimes only 2 will actually go through. If I want to send the 3rd, I have to generate a 4th pic message also to any recipient. I've gotten to the point where I just decide in order to make MMS work, I have to do one of the following:
- Send 2 pics to the intended recipient
- Send 1 pic to recipient, and then forward that same message to myself.
- Send 1 pic to recipient, and then also forward it to someone else.
So I have come to learn that I do have a work-around of sorts, but it's incredibly inconvenient, and just flat-out weird to me. So it's obvious my MMS can work on this phone, but why do I have to send them in pairs?
