Found while looking for bits for the ZTE Open C, there is a FFOS to Android 4.4.2 rom, and another one that reinstalls FFOS 1.3
Link is here http://down.comebuy.com/Open_c_root_Android4.4.rar , taken from here http://en.comebuy.com/cell-phones-android-cell-phone-4-inch-phones-om33494.html , which came from this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axOYIfo7y2s
I state AOSP because I do not see any GApps installed on the video, and I have not yet received my Open C to test

This device was purchased on ebay. The only thing I have really done is use the zte upgrade tool in windows to flash and obtain root, now I have a feeling that this is my problem.

Has anyone found a solution? Where to download the Gapps?
I just got my ZTE open C today, installed kitkat, rooted then install gapps, now going to setup dual boot with firefox, ZTE Open C comes with 1.3 looking for later version in zip format, to install via recovery. as far as gapps I just googled gapps, ended up here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23311191640114013
They work just fine for me.

The method I used is very complex, I had to make my own method, requires unpacking boot.img setting kernel to unsecure, repacking, booting from packed boot.img using adb to mount /system as rw and pushing su, and setting permissions.
I am sure someone else has an easier method, to be able to flash boot.img or recovery.img you would need to unlock bootloader first, as I said the process is complex.
I built my own recovery, so the process is easier than what I went through first time, I am currently deodexing the rom, and going to flash it through my recovery to see how it acts.
This thread links to a how to unlock the bootloader, that's really the first step.

I don't know what you are doing, to correctly change boot.img use fastboot, unless you modify the recovery.
Boot.img is correct i know. 3 recovery because first recovery is original, others are using custom flashable rom

Noone has custom rom but me, others are using stock rom, my rom is deodexed, rooted can be instsalled through modified stock recovery.
I was able to do this via fastboot, you also need to fastboot your bootimg to get root from there you might be able to install kitkat, don't know as your phone is different.
Anyway good luck to you.
after i install custom rom my phone restart to twrp recovery again again and again.........also i install another rom but same problam.........please helf...... how to fix...........................sorry for bad english

Hi. I was thinking to install android nougat in my device. I have rooted my device and installed twrp recovery. Is there any stable custom rom for my device (samsung galaxy e500h running on android 5.1.1). If anyone has tried one please help me installing it...Also is it neccessary to to install a custom kernel before installing a custom rom?
I am a bit noob in this type of things actually?. So hope to get some help
If you have rooted and installed custom recovery then download the custom ROM CM13 by Jackgl from xda link. Its very fast . CM12 and CM14.1 are also available but these two are a bit slow. Search XDA for CM13 for Galaxy E5. Download the gapps . Flash both. For gapps the opengapps.org doesn't give google play service for Android 6 I think. So better look for other links for Gapps.

After that you download supersu zip .
Then boot your device into recovery mode and install supersu zip then reboot your phone
Hello! First of all, i would say that i am currently running Omni 6.0.1 ROM.
I also have tried CM13, Lineage OS 14.1, Omni (6.0.1, 7.1.X), KEM ROM, AOSP.
What i want is a rooted stock Sony ROM (6.0.1) not Nougat because the lack of the possibility of installing Xposed framework. Any guides and ROM's are appreceated. My device again: Sony Xperia X Compact (F5321, KUGO).
BTW tried flashing 6.0.1 ftf and fastboot flash recovery recovery.img but result was a bootloop and TWRP. I am running a stock kernel (and i do not wish to modify that). Thanks and please reply!

use flashtool to downgrade to marshmallow, choose the earliest version you see in xperifirm. (maybe the jounalist rom etc, no problem in using that i believe)
basically just follow this guide, but use an older fw so that you get mm

oops. you said you tried this, but it gives you a bootloop.
did you try wiping data/system all that stuff, because i would not be surprised if you bootloop after downgrading, without wiping some stuff

Hi qvmuhuuxz! Pretty sure it's not your real name! If i downgrade, it is ok and no bootloop, but if i try to reinstall twrp and boot to twrp to flash SuperSU it says that it succeeded but if i try to boot after that then there either is no root or bootloop occurrs. Ideas?
BTW tried Resurrection Remix and i was dissapointed because Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, Camera etc. didn't work...
JIC i made a nandroid backup so if i mess sth. up it is ok. I had an Galaxy Express 2 with RR and i loved it. Shame
Anywhoo i will try again to just install twrp and boot to system, i haven't tried it yet...

Hi, assuming your data is unencrypted...? (actually TWRP can handle XC's encrypted data with Marshmallow, but not nougat - so if you are playing with 6.0 it shouldn't matter encrypted or not)
It sounds like the problem is SU.
Yes please try to reboot after installing TWRP.
I recommend Magisk, it worked great for me.
Flash Magisk v12 instead of SU and install the apk for Magisk Manager 4.3.3.
I can't recommend the latest version of Magisk because it doesn't work for me the few times I tried to upgrade. v12 works perfectly..
Let me know how you get on. I have working Android Pay, everything is good.

Hello there with good news, Magisk 13 worked flawlessly and i got xposed framework working too. I guess there was a problem with the SuperSU package, although i downloaded several packages. Anyway super duper thanks for the help. I appriciate it! I have a question, is there some advanced themes for XC too (MM) that is? I tried MIUI theme but with no luck. Thanks!

Hi, sorry if it took too long but here you go!
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862722746
Xposed for Nougat is out, I upgraded from Marshmallow and have no complaints other than substratum not working on Nougat for Xperias. If you need a working Marshmallow I have my copy of .198 here- https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bx5gPVuLapkKTU1vOHVsLTMzWGc
Use flashtool 9.22.3 for marshmallow or else it wont work. The Androplus kernel with drm patch doesnt patch drm correctly either so you need to make your own with ta_poc. You HAVE to run a modified kernel to be able to make modifications to system and to be able to boot up TWRP, no way around that. Thats why I build my own with ta_poc using the stock kernel.
BTW STOP using SuperSU, its been sold to a chinese company and is no longer open source, use magisk, you probably want to pass safetynet as well since Google is cracking down on root.

Flash lazy flasher after rom, and dude recovery replaces when u flash fastboot rom, not recovery
Installed it. Nice UI, smooth but still, it's loaded with stuff that I don't use.
Tried to uninstall crapware and the google apps that I don't need with system apk remover ( root ). It didn't let me, so I gave up on MIUI, again. There is a lot of useless stuff in there.
Isn't there a clean MIUI OS without heavy google apps preinstalled ?

I said that in case he doesn't have lazy flasher with him. And yes, TWRP recovery does get replaced with recovery ROM. Happened everytime I reflashed miui to fix issues. Haven't tried it with other recoveries as of yet.

Only recovery install?
Hi! Can i install this through settings/system update/choose upgrade from inner sd card, or i can install only through twrp recovery?
So disappointed
Even after stable release... This thing doesn't support camera 2 API.. and I'm not talking about official support... Even if you add in the lines to enable the API... It won't work after 8.9.20 and above ... Now the stable version doesn't let us use gcam too..?
Which TWRP can I use to flash?
Try latest OrangeFox, and TWRP 3.0.3, just stuck in the end of update process (can not finished).
Stock recovery has no "update" option.
Updater didn't work.
Pls advice.
weird - it's a global version and only chinese region to set in settings.
and i can't set 5x5 icons set on desktop (only 4x5), so... i'm going back to miui eu version.
