Hello ppl,
I'm going to make a shift dissasembly guide, covering basic tips on how to dissasemble, how to upgrade various components and so on. I will include detailed pictures on how components are linked one to each other and so on.
My question is: what do you people want to see? If there are some of you who want pictures with a specific component, please reply or give me some ideas. I'll open the shift in 1-2 days so please come with suggestions.
Of course, the first 2 points on my agenda will be how to upgrade hdd and ram modules.

Remove the metal covers and take high quality picture of every chipset, where the model and manufacturer can be seen.
If you can identify how the touchscreen is connected (shared) between x86 and arm, that would be cool... we need to know if it is a serial or i2c bus, specially the x86 side.

Some people said that there is no connection between the SD card and SnapVUE. If SnapVUE needs to access the SC card, it may require direct soldering. I wish to see whether it is necessary or possible. Thank you.

I've got the ideea. I've opened a lot of stuff in my life, ranging from pda's to laptops but with the shift i'm a little nervous. Most of the htc devices i've dissasembled had some pretty weird casing connections.
I will also study how the hinges work and if the slide mechanism can be upgraded. Some ppl say it could. I'm also veeerry intrested to see how the display pannel and ram are connected to the x86 side and the ppc side.
I'll get to work in about 6 hours and when I'm done i'll open a new thread with the guide and photos.

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this but I had an idea for a program/mod. I find it would be useful if there was a way to use your camera with displaying the camera program. Kinda like a stealth like photo mode. Maybe the center D pad could be the camera shutter button while the stealth program is running in the background so you can take pics run and gun. Unfortunately I am not a programmer and have no idea how hard this would be to do however this seems like the right place to be.
I suggest you develop your idea a little further, change the post and maybe try to talk to no2chem.. or oldsap..

I had a thought while describing to a user how to use my wallpaper template.
Would anyone be willing to help edit the box that shows for cropping when setting a wallpaper? All that would really be needed to make it useful is to add in 4 additional lines inside of the cop box itself. Two horizontal and two vertical lines to serve as a guide for what is actually visible on the desktop.
If someone can point me in the right direction of what file to edit, Ill start working on it myself.
That is a wonderful idea. Would love for someone to actually fix the crop tool. Wish I could help but I would love to help test if you need it.

Hi all i purchased the u8 and it is meant to show currant temperature for your location..i have downloaded the apk file that came with instructions ie bt notifier but i do not get the temp on main page and nowhere on watch or in bt is there an option for setting, i know it will be something simple but im getting on in the grey hair department and would really appreciate a little shove or kick in the right direction please and tyvm in advance for any assistance offered

i hope u can help us out with this.. my team and me are developing a app, where u have to be able cuting squares out of an image and change position of it (or cut 2 squares and swap them) we are playing around with android.media.effect at the moment we are trying to use the CropEffect in order to cut out a square. this is what i think we will be able to do.. but the next step would be to swap 2 squares or something like this which means we have to put images together somehow.. anyone has an idea about that?
