So, long story short, i have a Galaxy S5 Fake in hands (not mine). But i'm trying to fix it.
I realized soon enough it would be harder than i expected.
This beast comes with trojans all over the rom. So my first thought was , let's wipe it.
After the wipe, everything is installed back, all the junk and trojans.
So i decided to flash using download mode.
Here's how the button combos are set :
Recovery Combo (Power + Home + Volume UP) would send me to a english recovery.
Donwload mode combo (Power + home + volume down) would put me in a chinese recovery instead of download mode.
So... yeah.. no download mode! After a while trying to flash a custom recovery using flashify app i noticed that cwm was successfully installed! But once again... Trying the recovery combo now , would just boot normally and the download mode combo is still in the chinese recovery.
Also trying flashing via fastboot without sucess.
I'm running out of ideas! Any help?

Is there any way i can check if cwm was really installed and is it possible to change the boot script to load it instead of the chinese recovery?
Recover the whole stock status with Odin, then you can flash custom things.

how can i flash with odin without download mode?
No point asking about it here, just because they stuck the name S5 on it, doesn't make it an S5, the hardware will be different, ROMs won't work, likely ODIN won't either as ODIN is for Samsung, and it's not a Samsung phone
Find out what hardware is in it, and go from there

My fault.
Not even recognized it's not a Samsung.

Suddenly my Galaxy S4 i9505 stuck in Recovery Mode, its not and never rooted. When i choose reboot from Recovery menu, it opens on Recovery mode again.
I tried to flash with odin but nothing. Also i cannot go to Download Mode through 3-button combo so i use ADB to enter download mode. The only way to boot normally
is to press power button then release and hold volume down till i get Samsung in white then release. Any idea please.

Stock Rom.
I attempted to flash a TWRP recovery on my S5 (9006v). I previously had a chinese recovery of CWM but the language was all chinese so I needed to change it.
Now, I'm stuck with it attempting to reboot into recovery and pulling battery / volume +/- etc doesn't seem to stop it from attempting to load recovery (and fail / reboot)
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated...
Boot into odin mode and flash the proper recovery.

Great idea, but it isn't responding to power/volume to get into Odin Mode. I used "Boot into recovery" in Rom Installer. Now I can't seem to force it to boot anything except attempting to load recovery over and over.

Pull the battery, wait about 30 seconds, reinsert the battery and press volume down + menu + power and see if you can get into downloadmode and flash a custom recovery (i personaly recommend Philz Touch recovery) or a stock rom to get the phone running again. You might also try a JIG to get into downloadmode, tried it myself and works on the G900F.

Attempted multiple times and for some reason it kicked in this time and went into odin mode. Is there a philz touch for the td-lte version? Didn't see one anywhere, but perhaps there's something hiding somewhere...

No, idea tbh. PM the dev for more info and maybe info about development for your device.
Hi all,
I have a GT i9505 with cyanogenmod 11 installed.
I rebooted into recovery mode using the power menu option instead of the volume up + power + home option, which brought me into a cyanogenmod simple recovery mode. Soon I found my phone is stuck in this mode, pressing reboot phone only sends me back to this simple recovery mode.
I plugged my phone into my computer (that has kies installed), but windows 7 would only provide me with a "dee dee" noise and not able to detect my device.
I am quite frustrated now and don't know what to do. Do you guys have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Nelson
Have you tried entering Odin Mode (Power + Volume Down) and reflashing a custom recovery again?
If not, download Odin 3.07 (you will find it on Google), put your phone into Odin Mode (as I told you earlier), and download a recovery in .tar or .tar.md5 format. Put the file into PDA (or AP if you use a newer version of Odin on your PC) and press Start. Check ONLY Auto-Reboot and Reset Time and not Repartition or anything!. Then, it will flash again the custom recovery and you should be able to enter it using Power + Volume Up.
It may be a bootloader problem. Since it won't boot in anything else but recovery. I had a similar problem with an Galaxy S Advance and flashing a bootloader did the trick.
OMG Thanks Villa_Man!!! You guys rock!
one more thing if you guys don't mind.
When I pressed power + home + volume up, it will still take me to cyanogenmod simple recovery instead of cwm which I have installed.
I am currently booting into cwm via the cwm app. Is there a way that I can change my default recovery to cwm so I can boot into it via the hardware button method?
Cheers guys
A few months ago I rooted my N900w8, installed custom recovery (cwm), and flashed Android L. Today I tried to update the recovery, planning on updating the ROM as well. But now no custom recovery works at all, even the one I had running before. When trying to boot into recovery it says booting recovery... like it should, and then the screen just goes blank, then the phone restarts. Sometimes getting stuck in a bootloop trying to boot to recovery, but usually just regularly booting and boots normally to Android L. So now I am unable to update my ROM because not a single custom recovery has worked and therefore I cant flash the .img files. Please Help!

I had the same issue except when I try to load recovery it would "forward" itself to download mode.
This may work for you, try re-flashing the latest CWM update with Odin. Place your phone in download mode by powering it off and holding Volume Down + Home + Power. Press volume up to proceed.
1. Download and extract
2. Run Odin as Administrator (Download if you don't have already)
3. Select CMW file from your download folder and place it in the "AP" section.
4. Start
When finished, Reboot holding Volume UP + Menu + Power Button. Vola!
Let me know if this works for you.

Yeah depending on which recovery I flash it'll either forward to download mode, get stuck in a boot loop trying to start recovery, or restart and load the ROM.
Unfortunately it still isn't working :/ I used the tool from this page (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2446269) to convert the .img to a flashable odin file. Used the proper Canadian touch recovery (also tried recovery without touch) from this page (https://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager) and no luck. Tried to enter recovery mode, it says entering recovery mode, goes black for a few seconds, vibrates then restarts the phone in regular boot mode :/ Any more idea's?
Do I need to be flashing a recovery that supports Android 5.0.2 for it to work? Im so puzzled.
YES!! Finally I was able to get a TWRP 2.8.5.0 working. Downloaded latest version from the main TWRP site and flashed using ODIN, did not use the converting tool above, downloaded the TWRP as a .tar flashable file from their site. Thanks for the help!
Do I need to close this thread or anything? This is my first time posting on xda

Congratulations on solving your own problem! ^_^
I just figured to share my part when i experienced the same issue. I feel like it has somehow corrupt itself after it finished flashing which results in an empty directory for the recovery mode.
Warm Regards,

I flashed a wrong file in twrp and my phone went into a bootloop. I want to boot into recovery to reflash the ROM but I can't do it, the phone is stuck into a continuous bootloop (stuck at the Samsung logo and vibrating over and over again). I can boot into download mode using vol down + power + home, but vol up for recovery isn't working.

1. Boot in DOWNLOAD MODE and flash the correct TWRP via ODIN again. Done.
2. If the step 1 doesn't work. Boot in DOWNLOAD MODE, reflash STOCK rom and reflash the TWRP, the one good for your device. Done.

Secret mode wasn't working in the Samsung browser so I flashed a zip that I found on xda that supposedly fixes this issue and cleared the cache and dalvik cache. I don't see how this could have erased twrp from my device. I currently don't have acces to a computer so I can't use Odin, is there really no way to force shutdown it or something?

Enter download mode, once you are in download mode press at the same time power + home + volume down button. As soon as the screen goes black release the volume down button and press the volume up button immediately, then it will boot up to TWRP
