Hey , I need some help. Recently the people I call have reported that I can bearly be heard even on the highest levels of sound, but when I switch to loudspeaker (top microphone) it works great. So my question is - is it broken , or does it need cleaning/proper placement ?
As I said , I can be heard , but it's very quiet/like speaking from a deep hole.
Hello everyone, I've checked the forums and I've not really seen many answers to this question as it's something that's been bugging me for a while now.
I don't know when it started, but I noticed recently after recording a video and playing back, the sound on one side is completely gone. Almost like Stereo mode has been disabled, I have determined that it is the microphone that is often used during Loudspeaker calls, I tested this by placing a call to a friend on a regular call, then a WhatsApp Call, and finally a Skype call - and each platform is having the same issue - my loudspeaker microphone is not picking up audio. Is there a fix for this? I took apart the device, cleaned thoroughly but I'm wondering if the microphone itself has become busted. If anyone has a similar issue, or has found a fix for this - could you please provide me with some information? I love my Note 3 and would love to start recording some videos again.
Thanks everyone!

First factory reset and check again. .if same it s material problem
I've Factory Reset about 10 times since this post, and attempted all kinds of different things. I can confirm that it is a definitely a hardware issue, could you recommend what to do so I can get this fixed? Again, my primary microphone works fine while making calls - it is only when I enable Loudspeaker that the other party is unable to hear me due to the "Top Microphone" on the device not working for some unknown reason. Again, I've attempted cleans, fixes etc - but the issue only occurs during loudspeaker calls and when recording video as the top microphone is used with the primary microphone for Stereo Recording.
I know the microphone still picks up some form of audio but at a very low level - as I have called a friend and enabled loudspeaker and continued on to blowing in the hole where the microphone is situated. They can hear the loud distortion created by the air, but not a voice or anything like that. I really have to shout (And I mean LOUD) if anything audio is to be picked up.
Hi all,
I am having problems with calling since i bought my n9005 4 years back, people did not hear me speak on the other side, but when i put the phone in speaker mode the sound was just fine on receiver side.
Using different roms from stock to CM13 and miui nothing software related seemed to be the problem (tried all the things that i could find on the net and in settings).
Anyway, so I always been calling on speaker or using my huawei watch.
Now after all this time i thought lets fix it, and bought a new USB / Mic unit which i installed without success.
Since on speaker calls still works great, normal calls only cracking sound, i thought maybe its possible to redirect thru software to secondary mic on top of phone which i believe gets activated when talk on speaker phone?
Thanks in advance.
My oneplus 5 have a big problem, headphone microphone sound is very small, but phone's microphone is working good, I just sure not my headphone problem because it's work fine on my redminote 3, any modules or kernel can be repaired?
When I use discord, Line or Messenger, I can hear my friends sound very well, but they say my sound is very very small.
Or this is mine phone's problem?
Rom : Official Oxygen OS OP5_O2_Open_9
I have the same problem
Any idea
Hello I´m going direct to the point and say that my Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 has either a hardware/software problem. The secondary mic which is used for noise cancelation is either not working greatly because when I use e.g. headphones and try to speak to the other person a weird sound appears and the person can´t understand me at all. This also happens when I do it without the headphones. But when I put my android to charge it disappears. Basically I can speak to the other person when my phone is only charging. I Don´t Know if im the only one who is facing this problem or if is a Hardware/Software problem?
Note: This also would happen in MIUI 11..
Short:
- Mic for Noise Cancelation has a problem
- Makes a terrible sound while recording and making calls
- Same happens when I use a headphones
- The problem disappears when the phone is charging
MIUI 12 -> Android 10
