Sorry about another "Which should I buy" thread -- Yes, I read before I post and I see a lot of them in this thread, but....
I will probably be buying either a Mate 9 pro, Honor V9 or Honor 10 pro.
(Perhaps I should paste all those words on magnets, and then throw them at the refrigerator)
GSM Arena says the Mate 9 Pro has NFC, but Huawei's own page does not really confirm this.
In some other Huawei phones, the Single Sim versions have NFC, and dual sim versions do not.
(I understand that for security/purchases NFC is tied only to the 1st sim in all dual sim phones -- that is not a problem)
Can anyone confirm versions/model numbers, and which/any/all support NFC?
also, different sources mention different things about the camera having actual optical zoom. Is this true? 2x or 4x?
Is it true that only the 6G RAM version has the 2K screen? Some sites seem to imply this. If anyone can point me to a trust worthy set of specifications, and/or a vendor that will actually send me the advertised version, I would appreciate it.

Hey Guys,
I'm curious whether we can manually add/unlock QC3.0 support to the zuk z2 plus. I have 2 solid sources claiming that the zuk z2 plus has the required hardware to support QC3.0. Although these sources are pretty unknown, they are the only good sources that shine some light on the hardware level support of QC3.0. One source is devicespecifications. com.
[Screenshot attached]. I've verified the hardware mentioned in this site of other phones and they seem to match 100%. The other source is this app called "Device Info HW". Well this app gives more of a concrete base that our device has the hardware chipset (PMIC) to support and manage QC3.0. [Screenshot attached]. The chipset mentioned so in this app is
smb1351 (Check screenshot) which is a QC3.0 chipset (Qualcomm website itself mentions so). But this app when I tried on other devices fails to mention the PMIC present. Now this is where I require some help. I need some of you guys running various roms to install this app and post whether you get the same PMIC (it's mentioned as charger). And also if possible try this app on various other official QC supported phones and post results. I need this info to proceed in porting either a mod (hvdcp file) or request a developer for custom kernel to support QC3.0. I hope we can successfully add QC3.0 support to our phones.
Peace Out

Actually you are not the first give to request this
But still we ain't gonna get this quick charge stuff as some diode will overheat and damage it making it unable to charge .
And bro it ain't safe for playing with the charge rate as the manufacturer may put them for a reason .
Go to zukfans.eu and check in details

That article is of thoughts on the phone and not review. Bro we have the phone. I have tested with more than half a dozen QC2.0/QC3.0 chargers and results are always the same. Normal charging speeds if not slower than the charger that came with the phone. Lenovo misquoted this phone's charging capabilities in press release. That's why all websites give the same wrong info. Maybe you can try and post evidence that Z2 Plus supports any form of QC and you'll become famous throughout this forum.

What charger doesn't matter as long as the phone has/doesn't have the QC3.0 charging chipset.

There is no separate 'chipset' per se for QC. It's SOC. I included the article for further reading. Every manufacturer has his own implementation and/or scripts other brand chargers hence don't work. If any one has a Lenovo QC 3 charger can verify.

Bro first please know the basics. Sure you need your SoC to support a particular QC protocol inorder for it to work but that's not it. OEMs need to implement Quick Charge delivering PMIC (Power Management Integrated "Chipset") along side the SoC for the desired QC protocol to work. On paper almost all Qualcomm SoC launched after 2015 support some form of QC (check Qualcomm website). But since Qualcomm demands a Royalty charge for using their QC patent, OEMs implement QC protocols in only certain devices. Though Lenovo should have implemented official QC on our phones (considering that almost all SD820 devices have QC support), due to price factor they didn't. They did implement some form of fast charging protocol developed by themselves, which is nearly equal to QC1.0 or more precisely I'd regard it as QC1.5 (since it's little better than QC1.0). As far as I researched, I came to know that the PMIC in our phone is actually a QC3.0 capable one. That's the reason I started this thread, looking for Unofficial developer support to enable QC3.0 on kernel level.
well as many , i bought this from lenovo supposed official store on aliexpress and with a so called global rom
upon receipt i found that this version is a dissapointment in games while i expected 855 to run as expected 270k on antutu shows me that something is wrong with this , the rom is obviously a hacked hybrid rom with no rom upgrade capability ota. and i know this as i saw the chinese rom upgrade to july release.
the rom is here https://boycracked.com/2019/06/27/official-lenovo-z6-pro-l78051-stock-rom/
In the same boat here; Antutu is about 100k short of the norm, 3D mark scores (OpenGL especially) just as bad or worse.
I found enabling "Force GPU rendering" and especialy "Disable HW overlays" in Developer options an improvement. But this rom needs updates.
The Chinese rom has had a bunch of updates, reportedly fixing lots of bugs, improving camera quality and performance.
I'm waiting to hear back from the AliExpress 'official' Lenovo store if there will be official OTA updates for this phone. That's what they advertised with, so they can expect a dispute when they come up empty.

I agree with You. Lenovo z6 pro will need dedicated subforum.
For now i have seen 2 rom upgrade tutorials global and chinese version. As well as some issues reported like: notifications not working properly due to battery optimization issues. We need this subforum to make discussion possible.
So, how do we get a dedicated Z6 Pro subforum?
I think we need write to moderators xda
Hi guys,
I am considering buying this phone as it's the cheapest SD855 phone right now.
Just a few questions,
1. Is the global ROM an "official" Lenovo Z6 Pro Global ROM or it's only a rooted device running a stock-ish looking Android like Motorola?
2. In Aliexpress, there is a seller called "Lenovo Aliexpress Store"
https://lenovotech.aliexpress.com/store/5015097?spm=a2g0o.detail.100005.1.17ed620exNtnAc
- is this the "official" Lenovo store in Aliexpress?
3. I'm reading complaints about Global ROM having lower antutu benchmark scores but in real-life usage, is the performance like a midrange device (laggy, delay response when opening apps, etc).
I hope someone can help me decide if i should give it a go.
P.S. I bought the Motorola P30 (ZUI-based) from Aliexpress last year and in all honesty, ZUI s*cks.
There are too many bugs like
1. Special access to apps (accessibility, draw over apps), you NEED to give access every.single.time you open the app. ZUI will DISABLE access once you exit or turn off your phone!
2. Notifications will NOT work on 3rd party apps (even if you disabled battery optimizations, allowed notification per app etc).
3. Problem changing wallpaper of your 3rd party launcher (ex Nova launcher).
4. You can only watch 360p videos on Facebook
5. You can only upload 360p videos on Instagram stories
4&5 -- means, all the videos you watch on Facebook/Instagram are PIXELATED.
Too many bugs that I have decided to give it to my mom.
Regret buying this so called global version of Z6 Pro, with 8gb ram from a dodgy official seller on AliExpress as the purchase invoice that I received is from an unknown reseller.
Well this Z6 Pro unit has visible chromatic aberration on screen and warm tone which cannot be corrected from display options, FHD videos are not sharp or realistically 1080p enough. Has third class cheap user interface, 3D rendering is also jurky.
There are lots of other issues and bugs in it. To summarize I think ROM requires a major overhaul and the features that Lenovo marketed are not at all of any flagship handset but of a midranger.
If only Lenovo will just stop customizing their software and leave it as stock a la Motorola, at least for their global ROM.
Mainland Chinese consumers are different from the rest and i get that ZUI is important.
The bugs are due to ZUI not compliant to Google Services.
Anyway, I still think Lenovo Z6 Pro is a good buy among all other SD855 devices just because it's the cheapest.
And take note, you CAN install GCam apk with the device and the quality is comparable to a Pixel 3.
I do own a Z6 Pro (official Firmware): it is nice (if you can use the english firmware), but you have to configure and personalize a lot and even then it is not comparable with other (more known) Smartphone brands. Launcher und UI is different. Battery and & Display is very nice. If you rely on WhatsApp/Telegram or other Push services: simply don't buy it.
AnTuTu is 359528, latest firmware is 11.0.575
My review (in German): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uThSfE9riv8
I also own a Lenovo Z6 Pro aqcuired from from Lenovo official store (aliexpress /store/900160001) With so called Global ROM (11.0.211 ST). No OTAs after arrival, around 2 weeks ago.
It punctuates low on Antutu (~278k) because of GPU problems, but quite high on Geekbench (3.5k single, 10.5k multi).
Doesn't seem laggy to me.
I don't have problems with notifications on Whatsapp or Telegram.
Photos are quite good in rear camera, and good to average with tele and wide-angle. Don't use front camera, can't tell.
To get EIS on videos taken with main camera I use Google Photos.
To make rear camera great instead of very good I use arnova8g2 's Gcam 6.2.030 advanced mod.
I've claimed a dispute with AliExpress over the global Z6 Pro from the 'official' AliExpress Lenovo store. I'm offered a €70,- refund, or the option to return the phone for free for a full refund.
I'm not sure what to do. I like the phone, but if it wont be updated from the current 11.0.211, or gains any community mod support, I'd rather return it.
What would you guys do?
Regards,
Marc

Sorry if this was answered in your review, but you are running official Chinese firmware which has an English language option? Were you able to install google play store?
Just watched your review, very informative I must say. I wish I had opted for the Chinese version, as that seems to work just fine in your review. English language suits me nicely, and installing Play store seemed quite straightforward in your review.
Anyone know of a way to install an official chinese rom on our global versions? Because that would make my Z6 Pro a lot more desirable.
To answer my own question; I found the below thread on how to flash an official chinese Lenovo rom on our Global Z6 Pro's.
I'm away from home for another week, but will hang on to my Z6 Pro for a bit to see how I like it with the Chinese rom and manually added Google Play store.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/rom-lenovo-z6-pro-l78051-qpst-edl-t3947149
the Chinese rom is arguably better than the global hacked so I do not advise buying the device with the global rom. you can install the play store and everything works correctly.
Below is a short video of the mobile phone's desktop and setup.

Yes no sound for WhatsApp and I use the phone app to make calls.
Same issue here. Chinese rom, amazing performance, but no notification sound for Whatsapp. And sometimes i have to open Whatsapp to receive messages, even with the app locked (configured in Security). If someone has the original global rom please share with us.
guys, who have 11.0.211st pseudo global version, do not update it to 11.0.257st, it brings lots of troubles. The navigation buttons work wrong, the cellular connection is unstable. All that makes the phone as a tool tp crack the nuts. I do not know how to downgrade the firmware back to 211, because Lenovo does not give the firmware.
All pushes in whatsapp and other apps fixed, if you have root and installed microG (use signature spoofing with magisk module) instead of preinstalled Gapps. I install it, set doze mode for whatsapp, send message after 1 hour of sleeping phone and message successfully showed.
I know this phone runs on a Qualcomm SOC, but every website, including the official Xiaomi site, states that it supports "18W Fast Charging" and not Qualcomm QuickCharge. Is it intentional, as in is it another charging standard that my QC3.0 chargers around the house, in my car, office, won't support or is it just due to some kind of trademark that they can't mention it officially?
Also, is there any particular difference between K20 and 9T given I will be flashing a custom ROM anyway? (I am familiar with Xiaomi products and I know it is baseline the same device, but maybe there is something I should take note of before buying either one)

Is there any way to flash the Wear OS global onto the Chinese Oppo Watch? Love the watch but not need wear OS
Nope, it has different hardware.
Sent from my Mi 10 Pro using Tapatalk
There will be a way - technically it's the same hardware, only the model number is different.
The issue is that there is no fastboot, OEM unlock or root available. Once we can write to the system volume, we can put the WearOS apps in there just as we can with the Mobvoi.
I've been searching the Chinese forums and there is no unlocked bootloader yet, once this happens - we are golden.

Chinese version use Snapdragon wear 2500 which doesn't support wearos (Qualcomm decition), Global version use Snapdragon wear 3100 which natively supports wearos.
Sent from my Mi 10 Pro using Tapatalk
Qualcomm changed the naming conventions when the launched the 4100 series chips.
The actual processor core in the 2500 & 3100 is the same. The difference is that the 3100 uses its a Qualcomm low power co-processor (QCC1100 / Blackghost) where the 2500 can be paired with any micro controller. It's all about marketing and product management decisions, there is not technical differences.
Oppo watch comes with the Apollo 3 co-processor which is the same that powers their stand alone fitness bands.
I expect we will be able to flash a WearOS ROM to the Chinese hardware, or at least - once bootloader is unlocked - put the WearOS / Google apps into the system volume.
That would be amazing, my understanding is the hardware is essentially the same as well. Hopefully will have a bootloader unlocked soon
i got also the chinese oppo watch 46mm here in austria ... really great looking watch!
Hopefully someone can figure out how to get wear os running on it ?
I just bought mine here in China and at the moment it is one of the few if not the only Chinese smart watch from big brands that can actually reply to wechat messages here in China. Apart from the apple watch or course.
I'm also looking up to the day when we can start installing wear os and custom apps. I only have a Chinese assistant breeno and that doesn't help me out very much atm
That would be amazing, my understanding is the hardware is essentially the same as well. Hopefully will have a bootloader unlocked soon
I would also be quite interested in flashing a wearOS version onto the ColorOS 46mm edition. Happy hunting for an effective method!
Hopefully, we'll able to...
I linked this discussion over to a thread in the WearOS subreddit with the same title, so hopefully that will bring in some participation and interest as things move along.
41mm here in Canada also scrubbing the web for methods.. hopefully something comes out soon! Overall awesome watch, but now I really want the 46mm
Just curious if anyone has gained any traction on this topic since it was last discussed. Happy upcoming new year!
Hello everyone and happy new year. Stay safe..
According to Oppo...
"the Oppo watch has the security boot function, so even if the kernel is compiled successfully, the unsigned kernel cannot run directly on the watch".
I am thinking to retur my Oppo watch 46mm back. I can't get the compiled kernel to run on this watch. No custom kernel, twrp for this device.

Hi, thanks for the info.
I'm just thinking tho, oppo wouldn't exactly promote any kind of boot loading or hacking so isn't it normal that they said that there's a security boot function to prevent unsigned code to run?
Just thinking that no company would out right say it's ok to do it unless it was open sourced right?
Of course correct me if I'm wrong cos I ain't a hacker or developer haha, just a tech lover
I actually have a couple things in the works. I have two OPPO watches. You can actually get into EDL mode by turning the watch off, holding the secondary button while connecting it to the cradle when plugged into the computer. Im just trying to find the right bootloader file to be able to modify the system and dump the filesystem. Any help is appreciated
