No.. I want to see it in the Edge feeds.. not as a night clock
Probably won't ever see it as edge feeds are more news orientated.

I know when the always on lock screen display is on the, image moves around to prevent "burn in" Why does the night clock on the edge not move around as well? Won't that cause some "burn in"?

Good question. Maybe because it's only on 8 hours a night? No clue.

Probably because it is at the lowest possible brightness.
Now I've wondered about the edge clock. I've seen no answers for that

Very possible...
I wish there were more options to customize both of these displays Like adding current weather etc...

Yes, that would be nice . Also, if it was possible to regulate the always-on brightness (currently it is automatic) it would be great for the battery consumption as well.
I was going to post this too. Wanted to use the feature but once I saw it didn't shift around I disabled it.

I have a feeling the night clock is fine even at all day use.... However the Always on main display auto adjusts as someone stated earlier during the day which makes sense as its much brighter out... That being said, the autobrightness on the main AOD could cause burn in as it gets much much brighter.. Just my 2 cents...
Thoughts??
I wonder what the amount of time required is for burn in to happen? I was thinking of the edge panel indicator. It never moves and is always there. Not sure why it needs to be. It's my phone I know where I've set it and to turn the bar off would be great.

You can change the transparency of the indicator to 100% at the Edge feed settings.

Oh thanks. I've changed it now
OP, do you still need night clock after having AOD capability? I think AOD is fine for checking the time.
But anyways, since you prefer night clock, it would be better if it is auto-scrollable unlike the edge news feed. It might prevent any potential burn-in possibility. Maybe Sammy needs to update that.
ok.. So this is the feature which i think is the most under utilised...i would love to see the edge lighting function facing upside instead of downsided for calls and notification. Will it be possible ??? i would think it will look cool showing ambient like show..
Everybody suggestions are welcome
Please do reply if not possible too :angel::angel::angel::angel:
i have not seen this requesting anywhere else
There is an app for that.. I used it when I had Xperia Z2
Now didnt try it on s7 edge though..
Search 'Edge lighting' in playstore.

Hi,
As the title suggests does any app exist yet to Light up the front camera ring when you receive a notification, just like edge lighting but around the camera ring?
I think it would be pretty awesome

Something like this?

https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/themes/aoe-edge-t3899237
Currently this app can light up the camera cutout ring for notifications. Enjoy until the dev polishes with more features.

Thanks for this! From my understanding, it doesn't technically use the front facing camera's LEDs, but it comes close enough. Most won't realize/notice it, but it works.

Yes been using this, has been spectacular. Thought the built in option via the edge screen would be better , but clearly it isn't. Going to stick to Always On Edge - Edge Lighting ? for now
Go into setting and turn digital wellbeing usage off then go to all apps data usuage tracking and click on show system apps then turn off all of them that you do not need on then go disable the built in Facebook app... And youuuu come back here and tell me that that your phone now has amazing battery and no more performance jitters/laggs ... its mad.. even my built in apps open without that nano second of loading up..tryyyy ittt..... if you dont see a difference turn them back on..but for me i can see it and feel it

yes there was already news reported about the app on the pixel's and that it was actually slowing them down, so i would imagine any phone that has this installed would have the same results.

What else can we turn off that can help the device's performance and battery? Besides turning off the device off course. Lol.

Thank you for this thread!
I don't have the option to turn digital wellbeing's usage data permission wtf
Edit: I have successfully uninstalled digital wellbeing through adb, hope it was worth the while. I didn't use it like at all but I enjoyed seeing it there
i'm amazed by the amount of positive feedback but can someone post a simpler guide. i really wish to try this out.

Nice haha. Also Samsung browser dark mode? Only thing i have is the mclaren wallpaper rest pure black with substratum. Also status bar is immersive via system ui tuner in the internet Browser (had burn in the Icons on m s9+ after 1,5 years xD)
My phone is always on dark mode too and I've never seen it, actually never paid attention to it.
