SIM Card Reader Slot spare part - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My uncle got his N6P a few day back. And his daughter was having some fun setting it up, and she accidently broke the sim card reader. The pins are broken in there. If I manage to find a SIM Card reader, would it be possible to change it? And where would I be able to find it? So far, I haven't been able to find any.
Also, the warranty doesn't support it (apparently) and no repair shops have been willing to give it a try.

Hi, could you finally do it?

IDEA: WM2003 SIM Cloning Software

A few months ago I was almost going to buy a sim card reader and a special SIM Card that was supposed be able to hold the information for 12 different cards. Then I got my wallaby, and started scouring the internet looking for software to do this on my P10B1. Anyone heard of any software that could read and write to sim cards in this way? If not, someone should make it.
this is impossible.
nothing is impossible, maybe if you'd elaborate on your idea's a little more we'd understand why you think it is impossible to clone a sim card. Even if the sim reader doesnt have the capability to write, Software could be written to read the information from a sim card and electronically store it to be used for later. Perhaps phones could be used without sim cards.

can you copy/clone a SIM card?

Can you copy/clone a SIM card?
The reason Im asking is I want to get one of the at&t express cards for my notebook but I dont want to constantly have to swap my sim card back and fourth between the card and phone.
And if I can would one of the sim copiers from ebay work? or are they only for the contacts and stuff?
Contacts and stuff. Cloning sim cards is illegal in most countries I can think of. The only ones who use it are crims and spies (go James Bond). I don't believe you'd find the hardware needed or if you did it would be cheap.
Cheers...
You can tell them you have an intermitant problem, and they will give you a new one. Tell them you have important phone numbers on it, and would like to destroy it yourself. they let me keep mine when I got a replacement.
But it gets deaxtivated as each sim card has a serial that is registered to your number. It becomes a useless piece of plastic after you receive the new card...
At least thats what they do in Oz, think it would be sorta universal...
Cheers...
What are the sim cloners that are sold on ebay that come with a blank sim? I know it might be crap but has anyone tried them?
Also I remember people that use a dual sim adapter have to cut their cards and some advice was to clone the card incase you screw up cutting it?
I guess I should of googled it a little more, it looks like it is possible but questionable so I will quit asking about it on here. Thanks for your help

Sim card issue

Hello guys
I'm having an issue when my x10 says there's no Sim card inside and the problem isn't with my Sim card since I tried in my old phone and it works. Even other Rogers Sim card don't work. Anyway I tried taking the battery out and after 3 attempt its working again. So, I want to know anyone else having the same problem and what's the solution?

I had the same issue but mine was a little different. My Xperia would not accept my rogers Sim ( 3 years old ) but it worked fine in all my other handsets.. it was the Sim card in my case and I was surprised to have it replaced free of charge.. also I found that some of the Sims are thinner than others so they would not have enough pressure to make a good contact. A quick fix from my friends Nokia was some clear tape on the back of his sim and it worked perfect.
Good luck!

TMobile's customer service department told me to bend the sim card very gently to ensure good contacts are made. Did this on first day and not had any problems since (famous last words... I'll be digging out the tape by tomorrow!)
My Sim card is like 5 year old anyway It's working now

All u guys with 5yr old simcards need to get rid of them! Those have like 28kb of storage on them, so their phone books are so, so limited!
I know! U use the phones memory, which is a whooooooole bunch! But if your phone ever crashed, all your contacts will be gone! U cannot always copy the entire list of contacts to the sim card, but with a newer 3G simcard, you can copy a lot more than your 5yr old sim card can hold.
These are free! Just walk into your provider's store and request a new simcard. U dont even have to show them what kind of phone u have (ahem!... those of us who are skimming with grandfathered data plans ). Just walk in and say "left my phone at work, but I need a simcard".
I think this thread will help you
as it does for me

I checked that thread, but I hadn't rooted my x10a yet. Going waiting until something extraordinary happens
Someday I will change my sim card lol

Galaxy s turn of when moving

Hello, when i have phone in bag or when i shake with it, turn off. I gave it to servis, but service said all test was ok. I tryied to flash FW to 2.3.4, but sometimes do it again.
Can this problem make any aplication or for example OLD sim card (i had 10 years old sim card)
Any ideas ?
Thank you
It could be the SIM. More if is damaged.
Sim ist so damaged it is only old and scuffed
I had a similar problem with my old nokia phone, and it was the sim, a 10 year old sim is not compatible with the newer phones. Call your provider and ask for a replacement, they should just send you one.
Of course, an easier test would be to insert someone else's sim for a while and check.

Where is the antenna?

I tried to replace the broken screen by myself. However, after assembling them back, I got no signal for sim card.
It can read information from sim card, but no signal to make phone call or access to the Internet.
Did I break something, and is it easy to repair?
Thanks a lot.
