Message notification on Bluetooth - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

While on bluetooth using my car stereo, when I get a text message there is no sound notification from the phone. All I hear is the music volume lowering for a few seconds. I'm using the stock messaging ap . Thanks.

I know it's obvious but any chance you have it set to a silent notification in the messaging app settings? It's a stretch but I have some apps set up that way on purpose

Click to collapse
is your volume on? that'd be funny if that was the issue. Do you have sound when you receive sms?
Yes volume is on, all other notifications and incomings calls are fine, it is just the email notification that doesn't make any sound.
Finally sorted out, what a noob mistake. While looking for some other settings, I found the setting to enable audio notification within the email software, being the first time I had set up email on my phone I had assumed that it would by default like sms!

After update can't figure out how to turn off sound notifications

So after the latest update I now get audible notifications for everything... emails, text messages, facebook updates, you name it. Driving me mad! I just want text messages to have an audible alert. I looked under the settings for each account and under the audio piece and I can't figure how to change it. Someone please point me in the right direction
Go into the each of the apps that have notifications and change the ringtone for it to silent. Such as gmail or email or whatever Silent should be the second ringtone in the list after Default Ringtone.
What about the Low Battery warning ? How do I turn that off ?
I get my phone ringtone and it is a pain in the a*se. I was even on a call and all of a sudden I am listening to my phone ringtone going off at the same time.
It seems that this phone or motoblow is missing the defaut notification of "silent" anyone know how to enable this? It is a pia going into every app, to set it to silent. Thanks -Mike

[Q] no notification sounds, speakers and audio clips work

When an alert, such as a text message, facebook message, or calendar alarm triggers on my Nexus 4 (5.0.1 lollipop, all stock no root), no sound is generated. The LED blinks and the phone vibrates (which is nice) but the audible alert is missing. The ringtone thankfully works, as well as my alarm clock and pandora, so I know that the speakers are operational. I checked every setting I can locate in reference to notifications, including volume settings, notification tones, app notification settings, and so on. Priority and Silent are NOT selected, volume is basically at max, and I have custom tones set up for mostly every app that will allow me to select one. No apps have notifications suppressed. The tones work when I select them in the menu, and the problem does not seem to care what specific tone is used.
The phone was factory reset Saturday (2 days ago) when I switched to it from my last device. Any insight as to what I should check next?
update: i rebooted into safe mode and was successfully able to get notifications when i sent myself a text from another number and an email. google rep recommended i remove apps one by one until notifications work again, since it was seemingly a problem with one of the third party apps. but of course, after i boot the phone into regular mode, it works fine will monitor and update thread if i lose notifications again.
tl;dr reboot your phone before you make a post lol

[Q] Mute notifications on phone

I see that Android Wear supports muting notifications on phone when the watch is connected. I would like all notifications except the phone ringer to be muted. Is there any way to set exceptions for the ringtone?
Checked the options available on this app?
